Get the Provari if you can afford it. You wouldn't ask "Ferrari or Hyundai", so the answer is simple. Get whatever you can afford.

I have a Satin Provari/red led as my on the go PV and a Black w/blue led for while I am at home.

I am glad that the Lavatube came out because now everyone can afford a vv device. Time will tell if it is a well built device that lasts.

Either way, stay off the analogs....

I'm in a similar boat as the OP - I've been wrestling with this decision for about a week now. Every time I think I'm set on the ProVari, I remember how much less expensive the LavaTube is, and I'm stuck. Either way, I'm no longer satisfied by my eGo setup and find myself smoking more analogs than before as a result... I need to make a decision quickly!

if you get a provari id like to suggest to get the extended battery right off the bat, you wont be saving much by buying the regular batteries first because once you get the extention you wont need them anymore

Amen to that. Especially if you have average to large size hands, it feels better in the hand with the extension.

If I only had One VVPV I would go with the Provari. It's very well made and feels Very solid in your hand.

Yes, it's more expensive. But I think it is worth the extra money.

Now for a Backup or a Car PV, I'd say go for the LavaTube.

I had actually never heard of the lavatube before seeing this thread. As I posted earlier, the Provari rocks. It is all I ever use now, except when I'm out working in the yard and grab my old ego. After doing the research though, I would say that the lavatube looks like a decent mod. I've actually been considering purchasing a backup to have handy in case the unthinkable happens to my Provari. The price of the lavatube is definitely enticing!

Basically you are taking a chance when you buy a new model of anything. If it's well made then you score but if it's not up to snuff then you lose. It's all about choice. I remember a friend of mine bought a 1st run/ new model Hyundai car in the 80's...turns out it was so well made the value of her car actually went up LOL. Like I say High R/ R and as long as the purchaser is happy that's all that counts IMHO.

Dang! Ordered an Infinity Pro and then found this thread...:pop:

lol no biggy. ipro is a proven solid mod so u will have no qualms about it.

lavatube however is relatively new. i'm just surprised at the battery life though. from the time i received it till now (which is 8days) i haven't changed the batt at all. i'm vaping at 4.7v on arry tank 3ohm-ish (cuz its my juice's sweetspot) surprise surprise~.
only flaws with it so far is superficial. but also one thing. u can't vape at true 6v cuz of the safety features. a 3ohm will give u 5.2v? at max. so if u wanna vape at 6v, u gotta get higher resistance atty. same thing if u use a lr atty, u can set it to 6v but the actual output would be 4v or so. on a provari, will give u error msg and stop firing. on a lavatube, auto adjust and continue to let u vape. so yuh. pros and cons at the same time. lol

I don't know about that I have one of those volt reader thingies from madvapes without a load it reads 6.2v with a 3ohm carto underload it reads 6.1v thats on a freash battery but when the battery drops to around 3.6volts things change 6.2v without carto and 5.6v with 3ohm carto

Well Ive had my knightrider for over a week know and am loving it. I havent touched my ego batteries at all, think i will just give a couple to my neighbor who has been asking about trying out a PV :) i have dropped it 3 or 4 times with no problems, I take it everywhere, can just pop it in my pocket and I have found a great little hole in my car dash to put it in while driving lol Anyways, best $100 i ever spent.

to bad I don't have a non vv mod for a kick to go in because I will want to try one of those too

Man with Christmas around the corner and people needing money and stuff, there is a lot on the classys for cheap. Not to be off subject but even the almighty Reo Woodvil saw page 2 twice today at less than the customary $150. At any condition that thing would have been gone in less than 10 minutes. And this morning there was a mint SB going for $50. Best time to stock up would be now.
