I think passthroughs are a very neglected option. My first variable volt was a Passthrough. There are not enough of them out there. I want variable watt one though. The great thing about it is let's say you got to leave quickly for some reason. Get going, now. Just pull the plug and you know you are charged up. Of course still grab a back up or two

Yeah I'm not so sure about this thing. Especially if it has the usual Provape pricing applied to it.
My first e-cigs were the Smokeless Image Volts, and I also got a 1300 mah X2 Passthru for home (ego size battery for the unfamiliar). So when I got my first mods, a Silver Bullet and a BB, I was interested in getting a passthru for the BB. At the time it was still listed on the site, but "out of stock or unavailable". I got to ask the owner of Altsmoke about it, and he said it was a very expensive unit to produce and it turned out to not be very popular, although if I recall, it did have an option for 5 volt vaping. Anyway, they just stopped making them.

This may sound ridiculous or whatever... I don't care... LoL

Who the heck owns a ProVari and only has ONE battery?

I would much rather carry around a spare charged battery than have that stupid looking cap screwed into the bottom of an otherwise sexy ProVari... That end cap is fugly... They could have done this a lot differently...

Just my opinion of course... Maybe some folks think a passthrough cap is a great idea... I think it relegates you to using attachments that a sealed, and leak free... Have a ZAP on your ProVari... Don't use this cap... Or any other Genesis... Dripper? Yeah, this isn't for you... Carto? Oh you'll be cool with it... Vivi Nova? That might work too...

LoL... I just really don't like this thing... Shame on you ProVape! Keep it classy fools!

I wonder why its so costly to make. Seems like it shouldn't be priced more than $15 or so (though I won't be surprised to see it at $30).

I like pass-throughs and think they are a sound idea. Still use my eGo-T PT every now and then. They are great for long car rides or being stuck in front of the computer all day.

But I'm just not so sure about this guy.

Anyone lay their mod down on the side?? Especially a tube mod.

Regardless of atty??...

Maybe a 808 w/ carto or eroll.

I don't get it...

Used to with my eGo + Stardust when they didn't leak and piss me off. Given up on that though.

Best I can tell its a good thing there is no battery like some of the cheaper USB PTs or the eGos even.

Batteries don't like parasitic loads.

Battery University said:
The current drawn through the device is called the parasitic load and can distort the charge cycle. Battery manufacturers advise against parasitic load because it induces mini-cycles. The battery is continuously being discharged to 4.20V/cell and then charged by the device. The stress level on the battery is especially high because the cycles occur at the 4.20V/cell threshold.

I do know this would've saved a lot of switching batteries off chargers/dying batteries when I was on my 3 week road trip. If I were to do that more often I think I'd buy one in a heart beat. But sadly, that isn't the case.

I think they need to go back to the drawing board on this one... this could have been executed WAY better.

Just sayin'

a Male RCA connector? Really

How about a very large cap and a 90 Deg angle connector recessed so it will at least stand...

-_- Where has American ingenuity gone?

me thinks it went to China, India, and any other country that can pay slave labor wages -_-

yea i would have liked to see them spend time on things like the hippo adapter and mini 18650 adapter, instead of letting the aftermarket pick up the slack while they made this and the 2.5. not a bad idea but so many requests over and over for other things.

while i love my provari and wont give it up anytime soon - provape needs to not be sitting back and resting on their reputation.
its only a matter of time before some other company releases a serious challenger with more options and accessories.

I agree Thrasher, I don't know if the Chinese will be able to mount a serious challenge in the near future, but it is inevitable that at some point they will get their act together on the quality/durability front.

The chinese get people bit by bit. People a "provari amount" spend in three months on chinese stuff and call the provari overpriced.

I don't think the provari is overpriced, I'm just not that interested in what it has to offer. This sure to be expensive pass through option doesn't do anything to sway that at all.
