You can make tight coils w/o burning the wire. I use the Gizmo, and 29g Kanthal annealed wire from Temco.

thank you Bish. But I mean the video where a guy was making tight microcoils without burning the metal. I cant find it

Imeo the way to do it is apply tension to the wire and wrap at the same time. When you finish your microcoil the coils are tight and touching eachother. The problem is that after you build your coil and install it you still have to do a dry burn to get rid of hot spots so it glows uniformly from the center outwards. So even if you don't torch the coil you still have to get it red hot later

no reason for that Captain. Just pull the coil a little when you assemble it to separate the coils, or dont stick the threads of the coil while you make the loops around the metal rod
In my last video where I do direct inhaling, the coil has close threads but they dont touch each other. Superx found a very nice way to produce more smoke but there is no need for threads to touch each other, they have to be close each other

Is it really that bad? I haven't seen much on the negative side in heating a good grade of wire before using.

metal oxides are very dangerous op. This has to stop, really. Noone is talking about it except me because people like to invent and try things all the time. They realise later what they did but its always too late.

Keep your metals clean, dont burn them, dont oxidise them, dont change their properties and dont inhale the fumes they produce.

To say it better, dont burn your pans on your house (if you do that, throw them away immediately and dont cook on them any more).

Also, not only you never burn the inside of your tubes on an atomizer but you clean it often. So you clean the remaining liquid (inferior issue) but you vape metal oxidation?

Know what would be super handy?

If there was a chart to compare the different titianium wire thickness' resistance to the different gauges of kanthal and nichrome. Kinda like showing the resistance-equivalent. That way if I'm used to using 28ga kanthal, I can immediately know which titanium spool I should be getting.

It'll make it a lot easier for folks to convert or at least try it out. Just a thought!

Buddy then it's not a microcoil, it's just a coil

A coil with close threads is not just a coil Captain if you agree. But do we really care what we call something if it vapes the same or better?

What you can try, is to make a "close threads" coil and a microcoil as you usually do it and see if the results are the same

you can do it on Tilemahos if you like, so we will have made another nice test for it:)

I have already made this chart kiwi. I will post it in a while

I agree with you Imeo . Thats the way i make my coils . coils are very close to each other with out touching each other . Since your advice about torching ... Works grate for me :)

The wraps don't have to touch on a micro coil. Just real close. Touching is (was?) good.

The term micro coil was used to describe the size of the coil compared to the typical coils being wrapped at the time I wrapped it. :)

Ok let me understand something though imeo brother:

No torching Kanthal before wrapping ?

No dry burning Kanthal ever ?

Do you really see a health problem with the very small amounts (about 1-1.5" typical) of Kanthal we use ?

Thank you.

Sure buddy I agree that the important thing is how it vapes and not what it's called. I'll try but I've got Tilemahos now set up like a dream with that coil I sent you in the email and I'm loving how it vapes. Kills me to rip that out now

ahahahaha, ok then, you can remove the wick, separate threads of the coil by pulling it a little keeping its edges and put new wick. That way we will have exactly the results we need because we use almost the same set up and of course the same coil

Its just an idea
