The unitank however, is crap. I understand not liking that one.

That one I can't get past the concept to even try it. It's like the best parts of a PT combined with the worst parts of a Vivi Nova. Plastic tank? WHY? WHY? WHY? I know a lot of people are stopping short on this one just over the plastic tank issue.

I ordered the new i30 s and was amazed at such a hassle free vape

So for now these protanks will go to the trash because I would not even give these to my worst enemy!!

I can't use the iclear products as I vape 100% VG most of the time and those gazillion wicks are not good for that.

BTW we have a Treasure Chest here, where you can give away stuff to other vapers, don't throw it away cuz there are plenty of vapers who are in financial difficulties, or just starting out, who would be so grateful to have your "stuff". :)

I buy all my products from a Brick and Mortar here in Des Moines. It's nice because I can ask right then and there which products are time tested by those vaping for a living - if you will. And they all have their own little quirks and likes and dislikes, so it's nice to have a conversation rather than pouring through forums and ratings. The down side is you don't have the selection that the entire interwebs has.

I was going to leap in here to defend the Protanks, but then again a friend PIF'd me an iClear 30 last week and it outperformed my Protanks from the first hit, and is still going strong. The flavour and vapour production from the iClear is outstanding.

Having said this, I then went on a quest to tweak the performance of the Protanks and now my PT's outperform the iClear 30, by using ekowool as the flavour wick. It tightened up the draw to match the i30 too so I am extremely happy.

I have to say i'm a Protank 2 fan. Never had any flooding. Occasionally a dry hit but only on heavy days. The "draw" probably has more to do with the Mod you are using than anything else. Some mods don't lend themselves to certain tanks. My Protanks, (I have four of them) all draw pretty tight on my Fuego mod, but are somewhat "airy" on my cheaper ego batts. Take some time with a new tank before you throw it in the garbage. The Protank is actually one of the better non advanced tanks on the market IMHO.

That much difficulty with the protank line is definitely user error. Most likely not enough airflow leading to leaking.

Well, no. It's a manufacturing defect. A brand new, PT1 just out of the box wouldn't make any vapor. The bottom collar was loose in not just one but two of the three I had. Put that head onto a Dbox Puritank and works heavenly. When Kanger releases things so fast, the quality control is just awful. I've had better luck with all the others, such as the Vapeonly BCC, and not with Protanks. Not all Kanger things are created equal, some are more rushed than others and it shows on the design... Why do you think they released the Protank 2 so soon?

You know, I think it's funny that on every marketing photo or webpage for Kanger, it says "*No Burning Taste" when really, that's the only taste Kangers seem to give. To me, it's like they realize all the rest of the models have an extremely high chance of producing it, and are trying to fool people into thinking there's really anything different about the wicking material or wick slots that'd make any sort of difference whatsoever.
