Once I got home from work,I pulled out my never used i30 that came with my MVRv2. I must say, it is a good vape. Plenty of vapor, good flavor, a bit muted. It was a tighter draw, but loosened the tank for a bit more air. The one thing that bugs me about it is that it feels cheap, don't like the plastic feel. But all in all, not a bad tank. I may order one of the i30s, just to give it a try. I like new stuff.....

Sorry you have had such issues with Kanger products. I have the PT 2, PT 2 mini, and several EVOD's and have had zero issues. I personally prefer BCC over top coils, but that's just me. Glad you're getting great results with the i30s tanks!

no need to buy a new tank just heads? if your in to that duel coil thing.

There is no "need" for me to buy half of the things that I do ... These glassies are like a collectors items to me, so I even if the dual coils were somehow compatible with the current PT bases, I will still want a whole new unit ... Most PT users have several of them ... just cause :p We justify it by saying that we need one for each of our favorite juices, an excuse that works very well for me ... and Kanger too :p

@Deanthemachine, I will be waiting with bated breath for more info on PT3, and it's release date (ok maybe not bated breath, but you get my point) ... I just really hope that they have revised the base in addition to creating a dual coil atty ... fingers crossed.

OK, I'm gonna throw my $.02 in here... I have recently acquired some Mini PT's. I bought 10 of them for an awesome price, I gave 3 to my husband and kept 7 for myself... I'm the vaper consumer in my household... Hubby quit 7 years ago and only smoked an occasional cigar... I've been vaping now for over 90 days!

That being said, I've tried just about everything out there but RBA's... Now I'm getting some awesome vapes from these Mini's and the full size PT I have also. But my husband has had trouble with the 3 he has... They gurgle, & flood... I've changed the coils, blew and cleaned them! Now the only thing I can figure is he hooks them on a lanyard and maybe that's what does it... I am clear out of ideas to fix his leaky Mini PT's

I on the other hand love my Pro Tanks! I do also have a few X9's that I bought from Fasttech and other than them being bigger than the full sized PT I can't really tell a difference...

I have two Protank II's and two AnyVape Davide's (which are pretty much a copy). I've found that the issues I've had with them have all been related to the coils and how well or poorly they're put together from the factory. I've gotten pretty good at re-coiling them on my own, and when you get it right, it's a really good vape for what it is.

Outside of rebuildables, right now I'll say the best vape I've been getting from tanks lately with no tinkering is the Aspire ViviNova BDC tank.

I just commented about possible causes for this in another thread earlier today ... it may be the "way" your hubby is vaping. I typically never experience any gurgling with my PT's, including my beloved Mini's however, just recently I did. I realized that I was starting to draw before the atty was fully powered/activated (need to hear the crackle of the atty before you draw). In doing so, I was forcing/pulling juice into the center tube, which would then gurgle.

Now when I say draw, I don't mean the primer puffs minus power that many off us do to get the juice flowing before we vape ... I mean full on draw. Because I am usually engaged in something (like commenting on ECF) while I am vaping, at times my draw begins slightly before activating the atty, and this is the only time I experience gurgling ... don't know if this will help, but pass it along to your hubby and see if it helps. :)

Things like this remind me of all the women who complain incessantly about all the bad relationships they've had. Once you look at them, you find out that all those relationships really only had *one* thing in common.

I, for one, am amazed at how far the hardware has advanced in just a couple of years. Go and find some old CE2 clearos, give them a try, and then get back to me about how horrible all this new stuff is.

I adore my protank minis. Above my EVODs that never get touched now, as I found I prefer a metal tip and tbh they don't give as good of a vape as the minis do for me. I also realized I just plain hate top coils. I knew the CE5s were crap, but I even bought an iclear 30 and it was horrid. That's when I figured out bottom coil is the thing for me. So now I have my PT mini 2 v1 and v2 (prefer v1 actually), and the rest sit on a shelf. It's totally preference IMO.

As far as leaks go, the only time I've EVER had an issue with my PT minis is when I try to fill them too fast/hard. Because there is so little room at the bottom length wise, if I do it too fast or hard, it gets into the air thingy. Then I'll have a minor gurgle, or a leak if it was enough to run down when I lay it down. Otherwise, nada.

interesting read. Total rubbish in my opinion, but interesting.
Maybe you should toss them in a drawer and revisit after settling into vaping. I often find issues with equipment to be due to lack of understanding or inconsistent vaping technique.

Sadly I must counter your argument with 50+ Kanger products that never flood and rarely ever give a dry hit.

I30 is a mop head - Top coil -
You would likely get the same Vape from long wick T2's or Real Vivi Novas.

I like my T2s. The only top coil I really like, actually.

That said, I do agree that most of the problems and complaints I see around here come from new, impatient members who expect their new PV to work like a real cig--and with similar ease. Ain't gonna happen. Learning how to vape takes patience and time. It's not self-explanatory. Watching Youtube videos can be very helpful.

We were all frustrated at the beginning. But I can honestly say, after almost 4 years of vaping, that I've never met a PV that was "total crap" or was unusable. They all work--if you know what you're doing. I still use cartomizers, carto-tanks, clearomizers (top, bottom, dual coils)--they all do work. I have my favorites, of course, but I'm yet to meet a device that I can't get to work properly.

So to all new vapers--please take some time before you proclaim something to be total junk. There is a learning curve with vaping.

Good luck and happy vaping.

As long as you find something "you" like.... that is all that matters. Just my :2c: but when a product is not very good, the product usually gets real cheap and I haven't seen that happen with the Kanger products. I have ProTanks and minis and eVODs and I have used them for months with no issues thank goodness. I just got some some other glass kinds in a co-op today so I may change my mind in the next couple of week. There are new and improved coming out everyday. That's what makes vaping a hobby and a quite enjoyable one at that. :vapor:

Im pretty new to vaping but, I figured I might throw my two cents in anyway. Ive only used the smokeless image X2 batteries and their TE3 Clearomizers. So im not coming from much experience here. Anyway my first two tanks and heads were great but, I ordered four more heads or so and they all flooded to the point of dumping liquid.
I actually almost threw the whole rig in the garbage lol. After a mini outburst I decided to try one more time and order six heads and two new tanks.

Well the two new tanks work great and the heads havent given me any problems. A couple of things I look for now are to make sure the air tubes are straight, not to over tighten and that the wicks are thick enough to cover the inlets. I dont know if anyone else looks at the wicks but, my defective heads appeared to have very thin wicks that did not adequately will the inlets under the air tube. The wicks in the functional heads are rather thick and flush with the inlets. Im just guessing but I feel like that might be the biggest problem with these tanks and might explain a common defect. It can definitely create flooding and its the one design feature all clearomizers share regardless of brand. Which would explain why people have a variety of experiences with tanks and yet all variety of tanks have the potential for the same issues with flooding.

Just a noob opinion but I think its just the manufacturer cheaping out on the silica. On that note, ive noticed its important to allow the wicks to saturate for a few seconds before vaping. Ive had a little bit of an issue with flooding but, its mostly user error Ie: overdraw or vaping before saturation.

Agreed.

I think this explains a lot of the most common problems experienced by beginners: http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/ecf-library/337017-inhalation-technique-e-cigarette.html

But seriously, if anyone wants to get rid of their Kanger products, just send them to me. :)

Now im scared haha, i wanted to start rebuilding with a protank 1 (available localy) but then i guess its not a wise choice, i was also torn between the Iclear30 or the Protank, im gonna try both and see what works best.

I bought both the Protank II and the Iclear30. The Protank II worked flawlessly, the IC30 leaked right from the git-go. I'm still futzing with it, trying to figure out what I did wrong. For my part, it's usually user error. I have several of the Iclear 16's and love them, no problems whatsoever.

I love my Protank 2s (regular and mini) and my Mini Davides! I seem to prefer BCCs and I won't use anything that isn't glass anymore. Not only is the taste better (to me), but I don't have to worry about any "tank-cracking" juices. I have never had a leaking problem with any Protank, not even the original. The only reason I passed my originals on was that I didn't care for the airy draw nor the non-removable drip tip.

I have had no issues with the pro tanks. The only person that I know that had an issue with flooding was taking the top wick off the head. Now I will say some heads are better than others but once you start rebuilding them you get more consistency out of them.
Good point. For what it's worth I use iclears AND BCC kanger products.
Iclears just work. I prefer top coil clearos when using tobacco flavours as well. But they drink the juice, and who could be bothered rebuilding a multi coil, multi wick unit? The coils last a long time but you chuck them out and buy new ones when they fail.

BCC Kanger products suit sweeter or non tobacco juices IMHO, and you get all the fun of customizing them, easily rebuildable coils, change the wicks at a whim etc. Cooler vape from a bcc suits certain flavours better than top coils sometimes.

So I like both for different reasons, always have some of each around. Had some bccs with fruity juices earlier, and now settling in with an iclear and some tobacco juices for the night.
But I have had a dud from both on a couple of occasions, so it's not quite right for a first time buyer/trier judging them on 1-2 clearos, need to try a few and play around with them or replace some defective coil heads if that happens before writing either brand off.

I wouldn't give up either, I like the customization of the BCC, (edit: only today looking at the vertical micro contact coil info here after doing some simpler cotton horizontal coils already), but I also love the simplicity of the reliable iclear too.
It's only vision CEx and novas I'm turning away from now, but even then I'm getting some of them for a direct side by side comparison soon as I haven't used them for ages and want to try again before I write them off for good.
