"Tooting"

Some words just sound like nails scratching along a chalkboard. It's subjective, and I guess it's regional, too.

But the terms "tooting", or "toot", as in "I toot at..." or "Let's take a toot..." makes every synapse in my brain backfire, and as much as I try to be an understanding individual, this, unfortunately, is one of those terms I just cannot find myself accepting. I know this is all my own fault, I don't mean for it to jack-iron my brain, but you could be the COOLEST DUDE EVER, and as soon as you lifted a PV to your lips and said, "Take a toot!" or "Toot this!", my instant reaction is "No".

This HAS to be a regional thing.

I grew up in south west Florida, south eastern Tennesee, and central Ohio, and "toot" means FART (it also means something else, but I won't elaborate).

So every time I see someone saying, "Let's toot this," makes me think of, "Hey, let's fart!"

Gaaah. I know it's my own hang-up, and I try my best to deal with it, but it jars me so much out of an awesome review that the reviewer loses all credibility with me if/when the term "toot" is used.

Maybe because you need to toot? Just kidding. I refer to this as vaping, so I madeup a verb, "vape".

vape is a totally aesthetically-pleasing term. I prefer that term. I like "hit this" or "vape this". Or, "I'm gonna vape", or "Hit this vape."

"Take a toot off this!"

My personal hate: "Let's take a toot!"

I know this is all me, but it makes Grimm Green's videos make my hair stand on end. Everything he says is cool, but as soon as those words leave his lips, it makes me wince physically.

I never say toot. I am still a bit uncomfortable saying vape. I don't know why. It is short for vapor. Vape just feels kind of hip for me and I am not a hipster. I choose to say "hit this".

I yes that word is an odd one. One of many in the English language. I think the baby-boomers are more comfortable with it as well as the twenty-somethings. I use "vape". Which is a bit odd to me; but no stranger than "google it".... Just a matter of getting used to it I suppose.

Ah, the things I hear that don't make sense...

Don't worry I have a long list of terms and abbreviations that I don't like being used in the vaping community. Then again I could write lists like that all day that had nothing to do with vaping. I try not to let it bother me too much, although there's at least one that I feel is potentially damaging to the vaping community.
