To be honest I only started re wicking these coils when they changed over to cotton wicking and big holes. I dislike cotton and anything I rewicked was in silica untill I found rayon a few weeks ago. I still have a stash of factory coils that I use all the time. I vape quite a bit but I am still only using in average 5mls a day. Cheap as chips in my mind.

5ML A DAY?:shock: I feel like my vape is in my face all day long and I barely touch on 3ml a day.:)

Maybe I'm jus TOO Tootle!:confused::rolleyes:

I have to admit to still using Protanks 2 and 3 and an Aerotank. I've got, I think, 4 rebuildables and kanthal wire in my "future-proofing" stash but I've yet to take the plunge and build a coil :D

I just need to get better building coils. Need wire large enough to see and a hole big enough to wick. Fat fingers don't help. Then it has to work perfect at 6.4 watts

Nothing wrong with those, since they're working to keep you an EX-smoker!

But you might just want to start building now, so if / when crunch time comes, you won't be having a nic fit while you're trying to get it down! Simple coils are actually pretty easy, and tootle greatly!

If we can help them with appropriate answers to their questions and support with any hiccups they have then I feel we are doing the right thing.

Agree, Krisma. Answers appropriate to the specific questions! That first, since that's what they asked about. And then, maybe, gentle nudges

I worry a bit about those who are buying Nic base "just in case." Even if you don't want to DIY right now, it doesn't hurt to find at least 1 recipe that you like and see what it takes to make it. I've made lots and lots of recipes myself and didn't like the majority of them. You don't want to wait until "crunch time" to discover that the 1-2 recipes you saved are horrible and you have nothing to vape!

I have no problems making coils, but picked up those Kuro coilers just because they looked cool and fun. If you try them, make sure you don't press down while turning or you will have pancake coils. Used properly, they do make beautiful coils! I use mine all the time now. :)

I agree. I use the Coil Master but the same concept. Easy-Peasy!

I also use an 8 penny finishing nail which makes a 2.25 ID. Love it for my Kayfuns and Russians! :D

I found a bit that fits perfectly in my gennies, and use that to wrap my coils. Slide the bit in, attach the coil, and the bit slides right out. Roll up some mesh, slide it into the coil and I'm off to the races.

HAH! I just use a drill bit.

Hardcore ;)

I use a phillips from a jeweler's screwdriver set. The set I got comes in nicely for 2, 2.4 and 3 mm, so several bases covered. And the phillips slides out easily (with a gentle twist) once the coil is mounted to the deck.

I started out wrapping coils on a 16g needle for my KF's. My hands are messed up from Rheumatoid Arthritis, so while it wasn't difficult, it was painful. I got the Koilers & use the paperclip like Qurax shows in his video & get a perfect coil every time. For a spaced coil I'd just leave off the paperclip, but I see no improvement in a spaced coil.

In a RSST no less! :D

O.k. I came along just after the genny craze. The mesh is metalic, no? I don't understand how using mesh as wick doesn't short the coil..... Can you enlighten a young Padawan?

Mornin' Krisma!
