So I DO still tootle puff, but I'm really more of a SubTootleWhomper. I do it all, and recently haven't been tootling as much. Here's the question:

If you could recommend ONE topper that really shines anywhere from 6-20W (preferably more in the middle, say 10-12?) and isn't too expensive-- i.e. no Kayfuns unless you've got a clone you really love!-- what would it be?

I rebuild, so if there's an rta or RB/DA that you think does particularly well with higher-resistance builds, let's hear it. Replaceable stock coils fine too, but don't want to spend too much on what will be an out-and-about topper.

Haha! My Husband always laughs and gives me hell (jokingly) for my 2 page or as he calls them 10page vape packets! Lol He laughs about me putting "Do not drink eliquid" on my packets.....lol I tell him, ya just never know! Lol
It would be nice to build coils with other vapers, talk about all the different stuff, and create diy recipes with another person! My Husband controls my vape budget ;) lol He prefers me vaping over smoking, and checks out my vape mail when I get it :)
Check out the DIY forums. There are threads for us to post about individual flavor brands. Taste, recipies, percentages, chit chat. TFA, Capella, Inawera, Flavor Art. The brands don't own the threads & don't contribute to them, although I'm sure they read them to get feedback on their products.

I tried that new DHL......it went via German just in time to get caught in the bombings at Brussels

I have gone back to expedited air. Truth is I don't spend enough that the coupon makes up for the time it might take to get processed during a sale. :(

The parcel was shipped right after CNY. it had 2 AA batteries in it so it had so ship via Sweden Post. Right after that there was the announcement about shipping Lithium batteries by air. It does have a backup charger in there as well. It will either show up or not. I am not worried about it. I keep my order cheap to spread the risk around. The other 8 packages arrived in a timely manner.

I've finally made an account at Fastech and a diary note for 1 May :D Having browsed around there, I don't know where to start - and more importantly, when to stop :D:D

At this point I am only buying spares and backups. A couple of Kayfun Mini V3's to try.

That's true. Once you get it cleaned of machine oil and get it into vaping shape all you do is invert it, unscrew the coil deck and fill it. Some people like to fill it by removing the top cap or the part that holds the drip tip. I like to use the coil deck method. It gives me a chance to inspect the coil and wick, and dry burn and do a wick replacement if needed. You don't have to worry about air hole leaks that way.

I bottom fill mine. Make sense to me to check the coil often.

May 4 is Star Wars Day.

May the fourth be with you.

EHPro's Kayfun Lite Plus v2. 1.5 ohm, 2.5 id. 9.95 at Vaporrange.

If you are wanting something with really loose air flow the Kayfun might not be to your liking. The Kayfun V4 can be a lung hitter, but not really loose like the Lemo or the Orchid. The Kayfun V3 is even tighter, but great for mouth to lung vaping. It's kind of like pulling on a cigarette filter. If you change to and open drip tip on the KF3 it loosens up a bit. The original KF3 drip tip has a small hole in the top of an otherwise open tube tip.

I like EHPro or Tobeco for clone Kayfuns. Sometimes you can find them for $19.99. Check out WWW.VapeNW.com or www.101Vape.com for deals like that. www.VaporRange.com sells closeouts for $9.95 but they are out of Kayfuns right now except for white and rose gold finishes. Black and stainless are sold out.

Actually, the opposite. It's so easy these days to find airflow galore and I have enough stuff that gives very little resistance in that regard. I tend to prefer somewhere in the middle anyway, though certainly loose compared to pre-2014 tanks etc. But yes, I am looking for something tighter, so maybe a Kayfun clone would be a good way to go. I honestly prefer authentic stuff BUT for toppers I'll do clones if a certain one is tried-and-true. I love my Tobeco Velocity and Lawless Steamboat (a name which never fails to elicit laughs from me).

Anywho, tighter airflow is right on the money for this particular search. I would prefer something adjustable, even if "wide open" is still on the tighter side. Whether or not it's adjustable isn't really a dealbreaker though. I thought maybe at least some of the kayfuns were fixed but maybe not, I've never owned one... but to my understanding the original Subtank RDAs are based on the Kayfun style?

If I'm being perfectly honest, I still have a cigarette or two when I drink... which is about twice a year so that's why it hasn't fussed me. But I DO want to cut those 5 cigarettes a year out and I realized suddenly that I really don't have much capable of MTL.

Lastly, I don't think airflow from the 510 connection is a good plain, just so I have some freedom with what devices to throw it on... but that's a super outdated option anyway, doubt anything I'd look at would have that, and talk about tight.

Looks like a good option, which I will probably eventually get.

BUT I would also like to find something that is 18mm or less so will fit Provari, too.

Sorry I can't help you out there. I don't have any 18mm toppers or a Provari! :D

No problem, I understand :) Just putting it out to the universe/the rest of the folks on the thread lol.

As I said above, my Provari has the older tapered top which the Subtank Nano fits flush with so I assume it's 18mm. I think anything 18mm or less looks fine on the provari, so if anyone has any ideas I'm happy with any size really... I just never used anything rebuildable on that particular device so I'm at a loss. I was still using disposable 306 drippers most recently but they seem so expensive compared to rebuilding, probably because they are.

I thought maybe a nautilus mini, but that's 19mm :(

I really love my Kanger STM (Sub Tank Mini)! It has an rda deck option too, and it is way better than the coils in my opinion! It is my favorite tank besides my Smoktech FBC tank (a tootle tank). Some day I want to get an extra STM gor back up, because I would cry without mine! Lol

Thanks! I have a Subtank Mini and Nano :) I use the Mini RBA a lot, but it's too big for the Provari still. But yes, I love mine too! I do super appreciate that they have so many coil options. I quite like the .5 claptons but can easily use the 1.5s in the Nano on the ProVari, so there's always that!

I have never tried a nano! I bet they are awesome too! I vape mostly at 7w to 8w, and the rba makes it vape really well for me :) I have not tried the clapton coils for it before. With some help from a friend on the forum I made my own clapton wire, and I just realized I wanted to build one in my stm...lol I cannot believe I forgot! Thank you for mentioning them!

What I'm currently using on mine are Nautilus Minis or the Subtank Nano.

Incidentally, the original v1 (horizontal) OCC coils for the Subtank can be easily rebuilt. Not sure how easy it is to find those coils though, and I don't think the v2 can be rebuilt the same way. I have rebuilt the heads for my Nano.

EHPro KFL+v2 has dual airflow & adjusts airflow via 2 screws on the bottom that open or block airflow. I keep mine open, & lung hit by slipsteaming air around the drip tip a little. It's not an airy draw like subtanks, but it doesn't have to be super tight, either. The flavor is very concentrated so it's still excellent even slipstreaming additional air.

Get one of the Provari beauti rings. 8.95 on their site. It drops on over the original ring to let wider tanks look flush.

I'm pretty much a simpleton when it comes to this stuff, but just to let you know, e-Leaf has a 16.5mm GS Air tank that I use and enjoy. There is also a 19mm version, but that's slightly bigger than your stated preference for your Provari. By the way, I use the 16.5 on both my 22mm Provaris with and without the 22mm beauty ring. Looks pretty nice in my opinion.

    GS Air 2 16.5mm

OK, back to reading and learning for me. Good luck.
