I always used contact coils in Pro tanks and spaced coils in everything else. Can't remember why, probably I read something in a post once and it worked so I stuck with it.
Recently got a Coil Master. That produces better looking coils than I could make on a drill bit, especially with getting straighter legs on the coil. But they always come out as contact coils. Do you know, or anyone else, if it's possible to make spaced coils on a Coil Master?
Would you do the Tank any differently? I have both - I'm not sure I'm crazy about the wicks around the posts (which is how I do it now.) I just don't want the coil to "suffocate"
With an RDA, wicking isn't too much an issue because the coils are dripped on/painted. With an RTA, wicking is tricky... too much wick and the juice won't travel (dry hit), and too little wick can lead to spitback and leaking.

Phil Busardo always makes the spaced coils these days. If you watch his more recent building videos, you will see him make the spaced coils the way Eskie explains it. I do it this way too. After you finish your wraps, keep your thumb on the lead to keep it in place, then take needle nosed plyers to pull the other lead outwards a bit, making it a spaced coil.
Aye! I was thinking the Boyz were talking about the Origen-16 and the similar RTA. It's a tiny deck and there's not a whole lot of room.
I am talking about the Origen Little/16!

I believe this is it?![]()

With some Lego tires I kept my coil master parts from rolling around and easier to store them without the container. Vape bands make it easier to find the size

Yep. That's the RTA version.

It's really only helpful on claptons...Why not? If it helps de-gunk?

That's one of the great things about vaping. I sometimes even lay down with one or two set-ups. It turns out I don't toss and turn enough to be a problem.None...and that prolly goes back to the ole "no smoking in bed rule" I followed when I smoked.
I do have my vape ready for me on the dining room table for when I first get up in the morning.
Legos are the bane of my existence...I'll have to "borrow" some from my son!

May I suggest looking over here at the NEW Coppervape Hussar, you can get a 1.3mm air tube and a micro tank and chimney, all for about $20+. it is a Clone, but I'm not out to impress anyone, I just like something that will do the trick and keep me off tobacco. Hussar RTA single coil deck (attack of the clones)
Good explanation! I'm still learning the art of spaced coils
