What did you have to do for your horses during this :censored::censored: cold spell?

I only have the 1 guy in my avatar now. So he's in his stall in the barn every night anyway. When it's really cold, I just close the shutter on his stall window, put a cover on the door of his stall to keep the wind out, put in more soft bedding material, and give him his nightly grain and lots of hay to eat. The hay in his belly helps to keep him warmer. Next morning...I feed him grain and more hay in his stall, then turn him out in one of the pastures when it gets sunny and warmer mid-late morning. Even here in central FL, most horses get somewhat longer & thicker coats in winter, so that helps, too. He sure gets friskier when a cold snap comes, that's for sure, even at his age!

Welcome back Chels

Got home from the St. Louis Vape Expo last night... er, this morning... at about 2:15 am. Brought home a bag, about a liter of e-liquid, a magazine, and more business cards than I care to count. Compared the Oklahoma event I attended 2 years ago, this was great! Wonderful! Superb! Splendid! Compared to some of the other events I have seen online, this was acceptable. I think the Oklahoma event suffered from bad timing as it was scheduled right after the FDA dropped the bomb. This event suffered a little IMO because of the venue... a fairgrounds... It lacked some of the glitz some of the other events I have seen (but not attended).

I'd like to say that the trip was uneventful, but it was not... a dog ran out in front of me while I was on a rural N. Arkansas highway and dog is no more. Front grill of The Wife's car is not quite there anymore either. Big dog, tiny car. If I were a butthead, I would have just kept on driving, but I'm not... and the dog was following her owner out of a driveway right as I passed, so... I assisted the owner in moving the dog inside and making her as comfy as possible. Damn! The owner told me that the dog was quite old and likely had cancer, so perhaps this was a mercy. Kinda made me a little morose for the remainder of the trip up...

Once there, I got to toodle around St. Louis a bit... saw the Arch and the Bridge and some of the architecture. Stopped at a couple vape shops just to chat. Got a haircut and shave. Checked into a "Classic motor lodge." That's code for really needs a lot of work to bring it up to standards. But, it was late in a town with an expo, so...

Saw a few people I know, but nobody from the forums. Bummer.

The only piece of hardware I came home with is the UD Cool Kit. It's a ridiculous, coil-focused Leatherman type multi-tool with wire snips, ceramic tweezers, various screwdrivers and coiling rods and a knife and file and bottle opener in a nice nylon sheath. I looked seriously at the Aspire Skystar Revvo kit and the smok Mag, but decided against 'em. Sigh...

I must admit I’m a little jealous that you got to go to a vape convention! I’ve wanted to go to one of those since I started vaping! Although, it’s probably good for my budget that I don’t go to one!
On another note, it looks like ecf has been extremely slow lately!

Welcome back, just know that you dodged a budgetary bullet by not going to St Louie.

I’m also imagining that it’s primarily composed of 20-somethings? (Not that there’s anything wrong with being that age, but I’m more comfortable with an older crowd!)

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

I've done vape meets and vape meets and vape meets. From the 7 people at the beginning of our local SoCal group in 2011, to the 20K who attended ECC in Orange County a few years back. ALL fun, all entertaining, and welp, imho, just getting together with other vapers seals the deal every time.

If I had to guess at the median age, I'd go with late 39s/early 40s. I saw a lot of younger, but a lot of my age and up, too. At one tasting bar, the guy was saying he'll turn 82 next week.

You know, after thinking about it, I believe I was imagining a bunch of young guys at a cloud competition. I retract my previous statement [emoji4]
