Since I'm new to the whole MTL thing, what kind of coils are you guys building on these RTAs, and how much wattage are you using?

Well, I'm definitely a Tootle Puffer. I vape no higher than 9W. My very inexpensive, pre-wound coils that I use are: 1.3ohm and 1.5ohm 316L SS; and 1.5ohm and 1.8ohm Kanthal A1. Their diameters range from 2mm-3mm. I wick only with 100% rayon.

ETA: My DIY is always made at 60VG/40PG. I don't have a problem with that ratio in any tank.

Rayon as well. And, while not that specific tank, shoot for around 1.5 - 1.8 ohms, ID to suit the size of the air intake. Maybe start at 8 watts until you're sure it's wicking well, although 8 - 10 is where I usually tootle.

Thanks Guys! The Berserker looks very promising, I went ahead and ordered one. :)

Since I'm new to the whole MTL thing, what kind of coils are you guys building on these RTAs, and how much wattage are you using? I typically just build single wire, 3mm ID Kanthal coils in the .4 ohm range and run it at 45 watts on an OBS Engine, direct lung. I mix my juice at 3mg, 50/50 but that can easily be altered.

Thanks again!

I normally do 29 gauge kanthal, 2mm, 7 wraps on a mech. 1.3ish ohms.

so 10ish-13ish watts

Thanks for all the replies on coil specs!

So, if I'm going from .4ohm to around 1.5ohm, 45 watts down to around 10-15w, and direct lung to MTL, what should I adjust my nic level to? Currently at 3mg 50/50.
Don't adjust your nic initially. See how it goes and how much you go through. If you find yourself on edge, then increase... Usually easiest to increase by 3mg/ml at a time, so 3, then maybe 6...

Figure out how many mg of nic you are currently using and start from there. It will be a guess as you don't know how much juice you will be going through.

It's difficult to really calculate out the differences required when changing equipment, but (IMO) low and slow is a good way to go, as you'll certainly be able to tell if you are feeling nic deficient. I'd probably raise it a slight amount, but starting with what you have compared to how much you vape in your new MTL equipment could be as good a way to tell as any other. For example, if your total volume consumed rises by 100%, you'd kind of know that you'd need to double your nic to keep things constant.

Best of luck, whichever route you take.

I got my first single 21700 mod last week, but my 21700 battery spares got back ordered. I only had the one that came with the mod.
Waiting for that 4000mAh sucker to charge was murder, and my CDO wouldn't let vape it until it had charged fully!!!! :(
Dang thing lasts me forever at my whopping 14 watts though.

if you're not yet "chilled out"...it may be time to increase your WTA...

Nah, it was falling asleep while forgetting to take my meds. That day was fueled by some annoyance. I'm fine now, but thanks for the advice, I did actually inhale more WTA that day. LOLZ, nothing was going to help, exactly, I'm glad that day is in my rear view mirror.

I am now chilllll... Or as chill as I get anyway.
