Anyone here tried the joyetech AIO Eco setup yet? I'm really intrigued by the new Batpack rig...

Shawn, I don't know what "batpack" means but if you mean this one, I suggested it to my handyman as one of the two to start him vaping. It's squarish (he likes that shape), no tanks or batteries to mess with. All pluses for a beginner who can easily become overwelmed at a time when he's trying to quit smoking. I also like that it has 2100mah to last longer between charges.

Because the AIO ECO coil takes such a low voltage, Joyetech developed the Bat Pack mod... Uses AA batteries!

I like it for what it is, something interesting.

As far as chargers, I've only used a nitecore intellecharger, two bay. It has seen a fair amount of use, and is still charging fine. I'm pleased with it. But, if I were to buy another as a backup it would likely be an Xtar, honestly.

Xtar is generally reckoned to be good quality. They have a bunch of different models with different features, including a really fancy expensive one that takes a shot at calculating how much life your battery has left in it.

english…" calculating how much life your battery has left in it" is a function that I think I could REALLY use...

I've yet to run across a gadget/thingamajig that will do that...

Do you happen to remember its Xtar model number...or have a link to it???

Look on Illumination Supply. It's model name is Dragon.

It does two things. It will tell you the internal resistance of a battery. That goes up with age. You could compare it to a new battery and see how much it had changed. Not sure how much change in resistance it takes to become a problem though.

The other thing it can do is discharge and recharge a battery, and measure how much actual capacity the battery has across this standard range. Since batteries lose capacity with age this gives you another useful number, as opposed to just noticing that a battery runs down faster when you use it.

Looks like I'm kinda late for the charger conversation, but thought I'd share what I'm using and what I think about them. I've gone through a ton of chargers over the years for my 18650s and still haven't bought one which really impressed me. They've all had fairly short lifespans and low build quality. Then again, I haven't tried the really high end units like the SkyRC MC3000.
I'm currently using an Opus BT-C3100 for my 18650s and it is "OK".
On the other hand, I'm really pleased with the charger I'm using for AA & AAA NiMH cells. It's a Powerex MH-C9000 WizardOne. I love this thing for its build quality and features. I just wish I could find a reasonably priced charger for my 18650s of the same quality.

Both of these have analytic abilities.

@JUMA55 - I think you've had some real life experience with this one, no?

Kat, yes, the XTAR Dragon VP4 Plus is great for testing the capacity of batteries. Basically it charges them to full, then drains them, charges them back up and reports the mAh's. The unit can get hot and its ventilation is poor. It can also take a couple of days to do high capacity 18650's. When I'm testing, I put the unit in a cast-iron frying pan, raise it up a bit with a small stand since the vent is on the bottom and cover the pan when I'm not in the room with a lid from another frying pan. It's not a tight fit so there is some air circulation. Looks goofy but it works.

The Opus BT - C3100 V2.2 also does tests, but I don't feel it's as good for that as the Dragon. What the Opus does do better is refresh batteries that you think might be goners. Ventilation is better since the Opus has a fan on the back, but I still put it in the skillet.

But the best I think for day-to-day charging is the XTAR VP2 since it will charge at .25 amps. However, the Dragon does have a USB output so one can charge four batteries and one external mod with a built-in battery. I charge my Radii and JACs this way. The Dragon also has a LIPO out, which I've never used, and some probe gizmos that I've never used either.

I'm not Mooch and none of this is in any way any sort of expert knowledge, just opinion of a sucker that bought a bunch of chargers.

Thanks, JUMz - I knew you'd have good info to share!

I,,,,, for one, would NEVER laugh at your frying pan (not in front of you anyway ;) ), cuz THIS one uses this for her charging station. And it sits in the fireplace.

Kat, I'm sure you wouldn't as I got the idea from you. I just didn't have pressure cooker. I don't have the toes either. :D

For whatever it's worth, I bought an Xtar VC2 Plus Master a couple of years ago, and it's working grand. Or should I say buonissimo. Greetings from Rome. Here's the local take out place in the Trastevere district of Rome, where I'm currently hanging my hat.
Great stuff. The pizza is thin and made long and cooked on the bottom of the oven.
