Tried a Stardust, want something better?

I have been using the newer bottom coils for over 2 months.
Out of the 6 packs I purchased, all have worked right out of the box.
One pack came from GotVapes and the others from VaporAlley. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before many company's clone them, but the manufacturer is BetterLife.

I have switched to these as well and like them better than most anything else (I've pretty well tried everything out there). The only thing I've found with mine is that they like lower voltage. May just be the ohm's I purchased, but mine tend to work best at 3.5-3.6 volts.

My mods off the charger at 4.2 volts are way to much and they taste burnt.

Mine have been in the 2.4-2.6 ohm range and I like 4.2-4.5 volts.
I use 70/30 PG/VG so I trim the wicks at a 45 degree angle and if I still get a dry hit, I rock the tube/center post (which will raise the post slightly out of the atomizer body) until the flavor comes to life.
Some that use higher VG ratios found that trimming the wicks flush with the tube works great, but at 70/30 the atty floods.
Others also file a groove in the center post base to allow better juice flow.
Whatever works :)

Boge cartos work good. Ce2s work good too if you use a syringe- have to clean them after the 3rd or 4th fill. You just have to tip them a lot.

People rave about mom and pops sub tank fairly cheap and worth a try but I haven't tried it. I got over 100 cartos still......Or just get a phiniac and get your name etched on it that's pretty cool

good ol cartos work great, I get about a month out of each one, when there tasting funky I take them apart and salvage the non resistance wire out for modding use.

Ive been using stardusts for a while- 3 of the 4 I have didnt work worth a crap when new, they perform way better once you take them apart and rewick them, they wrap the coils too tight IMO and perform great once rewicked/recoiled but not everyone will want to work on these.

I didnt like my phoenix- it put out clouds of vapor and great flavor but couldnt get it to stop leaking.

My buddy at work has some of those new revives, he had a tank crack and come off in his pocket- lol - he had to invert his pocket at work he was getting a nic buzz, his other ones gurgled and stopped working good after a few days- I had to recoil/rewick them for him and that was a pain.... they look really good though.

All design types have a compromise , if your in to diy modding the stardusts are nice after rebuilt, if you want to vape with no work involved, try some regular cartos out.

I use only the small doughnut seal with my CE2's. When I fill, I just pop it out; push the tube to the side and fill from the bottle.
I have 2 sub tanks from Mom & Pop's with a handful of cartos, but since I like to change flavors often, the CV3's are my weapon of choice.
Three things I really like about CV3's:
1. Flavor, it's consistent from start to finish. No heavy particulates left like the CE2's.
2. Easy to clean
3. Portable, I can fit 'many' in a ego case and roll.

I've never had a leaking issue, just the opposite. I have to trim the wicks and raise the center tube to get more juice flow.
What is your PG/VG ratio?

thx bigpman I am going to order the Phoenix Topcoil- and give them a go. I see GV has them in stock. I have a syringe
already which I use for my CE2 XL's. My family made some tart comments when they saw that syringe on my desk. lol I do want a clearo that is consistent and won't mute the flavors. My CE2's the ones that worked I am happy with. Hoping the Phoenix will be a step up from the CE2's. (*;*)

bigpman - I ordered a box of the Phoenix Top Coils from GV - have to wait a bit on the order though due to their move.
hoping they will rock my vape. (^;^)

I think that GV sold more Phoenixes than all the other vendors combined selling CE3s. Most people are inclined to post a bad review over a good one, so it might seem that GV had more problems than the others. The truth is that they all come from the same place, therefore the amount of bad ones from each vendor is about the same. The Ce3 is an amazing clearo and I didn't have one bad one from the 10 I own. They came from two sources...

bigpman I tried a box of 510 X7 CE3 Smokymizer XL - 2.4Ω/ohm from MVS- I hate them. First one out of the box was DOA.
The rest all give a terrible burnt taste. I get a few good vapes but most hits are just a nasty burnt taste. Can you tell me the difference between the CE3 XLs you are using and the 510 X7 CE3 Smokymizer XL ?

I've used both and would not even use those smokymizer's (others make these too) if they were free. The GV version, or the CE3 bottoms are much much better.

If you are looking for a tank, I think the vivi nova is the best one out there right now. Plus, they have replaceable attys in 3 different resistances! I don't think it mutes the flavor like some tank seem to, either. Draws nice, too (I don't like a really stiff draw).

frequent - i will have to ck into the Vivi Nova a little more . I did look it up on one of the vendors sites and it looks interesting. I like the idea that you can just change out the attys. How long have you had yours? How hard is it to clean?

Those are not the same. Bottom coil from discountvapers, vaporalley or GV are the ones I am talking about:)

is this the CE3 you are using CE3 - 5 Pack ? If so - how do it perform compared to the Phoenix? Those 510 X7 CE3 Smokymizer XL were terrible. I wish I have kept the $9.50 in my pocket. Live and learn.

Those look identical to my ones from GV except the tip is different but that's just looks not performance.....

I've tried to get the wife to switch to BetterLife CV3's (Phoenix/CE3) . She was a CE4+ (Stardust) die hard for the last several months.
Today, she said..."Hey, how come you are getting tons of vapor, that's not fair."
I tried telling her 2 months ago, but she wasn't crazy about using a syringe.
Now that she gave in and tried them, she's more than happy with the vapor & flavor...the syringe part she will get use to in time ;)

Yes, that is the one I use. Hands down, they are the best clearomizer I have owned, they just work perfect everytime.

CE3 from DV = CE3 XL from vapor alley = Phoenix bottom coil from Got Vapes

They are all the same:)

The smokymizer is not the same at all!
