I just received my SD this morning when I arrived at work. I had 8 hours to play with it (thank goodness the battery that was inside already came charged).

The first two hours was pure trial and error for me. I was trying to get accustomed to having a button at the bottom. In fact, I will admit I was terribly frustrated at a point. I knew that I would have to get the atomizer "broken in" in order to produce these magically awesome clouds of smoke everyone's been boasting about.

Between my vaping intervals I was getting extremely absorbed into my work load so now that I had the atty a bit moist with the cart left in I put it aside and forgot about it for a bit. I picked it back up again and removed the cart to re-examine the heat being generated with the button pushed after dripping one drop onto the atty and it gave me a better sense of how to draw off of it while drawing with no cart. I finally hit heaven and I was producing monstrous vapor while getting a real good through hit off the flue-cured liquid it came with.

I also realized that the cart definitely needs to be topped way more often with this thing and I think I will take several SD users' advice and just keep topping off pre-filled carts in order to maintain proper moisture. I was really surprised at how often I had to top off the cart during the rest of my work day. I don't see the need in having to change out carts so often to get rid of previous liquid taste since this thing fries up liquid pretty fast. The taste of the pre-filled cart was almost non-existent by the time I left work and I am getting the full flavor of the flue-cured stuff now while puffing away in my apartment.

All in all I am very thrilled with Trogg's SD after using it a whole day and I think my ladypipe is now taking a backseat. It was money well spent. Now that I have somewhat gotten the hang of it I did not feel like I had to keep vaping off of it because it satisfied me pretty well after a few drags with the included 24mg liquid. However, I won't find it ideal to use for long drives. Since I have gotten my kensington portable power pack I find it much better to use for my long daily drives combined with my usb pen passthru and atty where I can continuously puff away off a single filled cart with no need to top off.

I think the SD will keep me very busy for a very long time and I hope it's my final (and primary) kit for now. I think all I need to do now is stock up on atties for a while and I am set since I can probably open up an e-liquid megastore with all the liquid I own now!

Rexa, I recommend you give this a try: The Dura/510 cart fits on the SD 901 atomizer, but holds much more liquid, almost feels like a penstyle.

At first I thought I could only be happy with my penstyle SD because of the frequency of topping off needed with the regular one, but now that I'm using those bigger carts on the original, I love both!

i've had my SD for six days now, and i will never buy another e-cig, this is the ultimate! i know it is expensive, but lets face it, with this, you get real value for what you pay for, this is built to last, has an excellent finish, and bar dropping it off a cliff (a really high cliff!), or having it pinched, i would think this would last a life-time, seriously. this is no short-time fad gizmo. i read what others said, and bought one, and i'm so glad i did:)

I've become quite intriqued by the Screwdriver. Do any suppliers in the U.S. sell it or do you have to go directly through Troggs. I'm all into instant gratification & would love to have it this week:sneaky:

The answer to your question is NO... the ScrewDriver is made and sold in the UK. ecigscrewdriver.com

Ok...I would really love if some on could help me out with this. I don't get how people use a larger 510cart on a 901 or SD and they actually are able to use it longer than a 901 cart. I know it holds more liquid than the 901 cart but after I take a few hits off of my 510 cart I have to top off again. It is really frustrating. The SD or the 510ato burns the liquid so fast that I don't see how I could get more out my 510cart. I take 4-5 hits topoff...4-5 hits topoff. Thanks in advance for any advice.

Edo, I don't know what to tell you - I don't have to top off nearly as often with the 510 cart on a 901 atomizer, as opposed to using a 901 cart. And I am a very heavy user. Nor have I tried the straw mod, although I'm tempted to do so some day.

I'm sure you realize that after a while any cart filler loses the ability to absorb as much liquid (unless it's cleaned, I guess). Have you started out with a brand new cart/filler, and still have the same issue? And are you making sure the cart is really full (waiting a few seconds for the liquid to absorb, seeing it do so and get drier on top, and then putting in more drops, etc)? I even have a lttle plastic toothpick always with me, and usually dig around in the filler/press it to one side to make sure the liquid penetrates, and then can always get a few more drops in. So with a filler that's not all worn out/clogged, I can get 10 to 12 drops into it, at least, when I top it off, and then get way many more good puffs than you are reporting.

I was initially using the carts that came with my SD but after nearly 2 weeks (I think) of owning my SD I have since switched to the 901 carts I got from eastmall (which are somewhat different and have a tighter fit on my SD. I have so many carts that it just seemed pointless to buy different ones. They seemed to last a bit longer (the filling also looks different between the two carts).

You still should top off a bit more frequently than using generic kits but I found the cart-switch increased duration between top-off. The great thing about the SD is that you can overfill the carts a bit which helps further increase the duration as well (please take the over-filled advice AT YOUR OWN RISK though ;) )

I use all new carts for the 510 and they are very well filled. When I refill I make sure it is fully filled. But some how I only burn off the top end of the carts using it on the 510 or SD. The 510 carts that I have remind me of the 901 carts I used to have where the cart material is very dense. I find that the carts that use less dense filler material but that the filler is glued down to work out a lot better. Are the carts that you guys use have glued down cart material? I bet the eastmall 901 carts are glued down.

BTW I have tried the straw technique....It didn't do anything for me.

No, I bought "Dura" carts to try out (but the box they came in is not labeleld Janty so who knows what they really are), and they are not glued down. So the mystery remains unsolved.

Well, if any of you could answer my question, I'd appreciate it...

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/general-e-smoking-discussion/18024-screwdriver-battery-lir123a-3-6v-1000mah-question.html

I pretty much liquidated all my other e-cigs from the marketplace down there. :) Instead, I got 5 attys and some juice that will last me a month or two (I hope - but this is a real juice eater, so it might just last a month. Oh well.) And I'm also thinking about getting upcoming manual switched 901 USB pass-through from PureSmoker that I'll connect to my Kensington Power Pack... that will become my back-up solution if something (god forbid) happens to my SD.

Anyhow, any input regarding which battery I should go for - I'd appreciate it. :) (confused about maH and prefix model #s...)

yvilla, thank you again.

I actually bought 5 901 atomizers from MVS earlier today. Upon checking your link, trog actually recommends 4075 attys. I know 4075 burns hotter and has smaller wick... Not too sure whether it will have much impact on my use, and I'm not even sure whether MVS's 901s are even true 901s or whatnot. I guess I'll just have to see and what happens on Friday. :)

Anyhow, I did some t-bag mod for 901 cart, and it seems to hold liquid a little better. I just rolled up a t-bag, and pushed in gently, and cut off the left over with scissor. The liquid seems to get absorbed by the new filling much more quickly - and luckily I haven't experienced liquid leak towards the little hole. Also it seems to dry out the whole filling, not just top part... so I'm generally happy.

Thing is, SD is real juice hog, and it became even more apparent with this t-bag mod. LOL. I'm like vaping one entire top-off (I usually go for 3-4 drops or so) in one sitting... ;) Of course, more vapor means more juice, so no complaints here. Perhaps 510 might be a right choice for myself too.

guys check this out....truly made a huge difference for me....the hole in the cartridge is awesome....I have vaped true a whole cartridge for once with my 901 and 510 cartridges.

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...mple-effective-way-boost-cart-performace.html

read post 9 and onwards.

I tried it with 901 before.. I drilled a hole on the bottom. Certainly it hold the liquid a lot better and used the filler very well with much improved air flow... but I had an issue the juice dripping out. Maybe the hole I made was too big. (I have 2-piece 901 carts only, so I drilled on the bottom of that brown piece).

Anyhow glad to hear you've got a much better result out of it. :)
