When i learned more about provari and some one would post, what makes provari better than my whatever.... I thought they were really. Urious, the. The next thing ya know theres an argument brewing, and im like whoa, mwhat happend.

Also recently i was told i had a fake innokin because it didnt come in a box. And it did upset me. I think it should be against rules to call out a vender saying a product is fake with out any proof, i abandoned that thread so no worries.

Ive learned that when some one posts why should i get a provari, they are not looking for real answers.
They are usually just instigating.

I learned these things the hard way.
Im finding i like fewer people on here every day.

When i first joined it was respectful, in my opinion i like xxxx, yyy leaked on me a lot.
Basically it was good info. Good advice.
Some one will ask why you got a provari and when you tell them x, y and z war breaks out.

This is all kid stuff compared to some of the Harley/anti-Harley and Ducati/anti-Ducati threads on the motorcycle boards.

Don't get me started - I have an original 83' Shadow - beautifully restored, and :censored:s riding rusty springers they bought for cheap off craig's list have the balls to talk down to me. pfff

It was a fitting post for the conversation, I think. Very meta. :)

"Offensive" is a very general and subjective word. I guess I would prefer to believe that I am in the company of adults that can look or read past things that they find objectionable without having to censor it.

Mostly, I take offense to my posts being edited...and not understanding where the line is, so I can avoid that.

Here's the forum rules :
5. Messages and Accounts
a. The Forum Officials reserve the right to edit, move, delete or close any message or thread for any reason. In the event of any dispute the decision of the Administrators is final.

7. Courtesy
a. Members must be polite at all times. When addressing another Forum user, you will be polite. Courteous discussion is welcome here but heated and abusive argument is not. If attacked you are not allowed to respond in kind. Instead use the Private Message system and try to resolve matters privately and amicably. If problems persist ask for the help of a Moderator.

9. Flaming, trolling, other misconduct
Engaging in behaviour which is disruptive to the general operation of the Forum.
Posting something deliberately inflammatory - either to start a "flame war" or simply to cause difficulties for the Moderators.
Posting snide comments about another member.

11. Message conventions
Posts made by members must accord with certain conventions.
a. Off-topic digression: Stick to the topic. Do not deviate from the subject discussed in a thread as this is called off-topic (OT) posting. Open a new thread if a new issue arises from the discussion so others can always see by the title what the thread is about. Do not post the same topic in several forums (no double-posting / cross-posting).

13. Freedom of speech
Your contribution to this forum is not a right but a privilege. As this is a private website there is no public right to freedom of speech. The rules we have in place are to protect the site, and to provide a convivial environment for our Members. In short: we decide what is permissible or not permissible.

Digg, I agree with you about not knowing where the line is. I know this might seem off topic, but it's fitting that this is coming up in this thread. Yeah, the quote was in poor taste, and I haven't seen something like that in other threads, but then again I haven't been looking for it either. Anyway, like I said in one of my posts above, I've seen people, both high and low post counters, not being courteous, even attacking or making fun of people, and maybe after 10 more pages, the thread gets closed. By the rules, some action should be taken right away. But it doesn't happen. When a noob sees this, that people can carry on like that without actions taken, they feel that they can do the same without problems.

I don't know, it's a thin line between freedom of speech, and realizing that it's a privilege to post here. Too much censorship and people won't post. Too little, and it's anarchy.

You'll find that it is hard for people to actually get when some are curious and not being trollish. We ALL have a passion for vaping. When we find the device that just clicks for us, we become passionate about that device. It actually worked to get us off of cigs! Of course we will idolize that which works for us when so very many other things had not.

Please don't take things personal. Most people wouldn't act like they do if they were face to face. The computer allows for anonymity where some people feel like they can say whatever. There is a rule on ECF: you may attack the post NOT the poster. If you feel that someone is being mean to you personally, report them.

Try to look at these 'Threads' as entertainment. Like a funny story ;) It does help :)

I do a lot of this  instead of jumping into the fray.

You really feel that way?

Should the people who want to vape in public feel the same way about regulation?

If somebody is offended by the content in a post, and reports it, we have to take the matter into consideration and action it regardless of what I may or may not think about it. It's as simple as that!

Hehehe...

I had a VLX for a several years. Rode it to a "biker" bar one afternoon to confirm/book some gigs. A noob (I think his Harley T-shirt still had the price tag on it :D ) on a high-dollar chromed-out brand new Heritage Springer went on and on for about 20 minutes about how it was the nicest looking Sportster he'd ever seen. Until I finally thanked him for the compliments and explained that it was a Honda.

So, consider yourself sort of pre-avenged for the transgressions.

and IMHO, there's absolutely nothing wrong with asking sincere questions about the advantages of one product over another,,,,it's all relative anyway,,,,,,,,and subjective.

what fits my needs, may not fit yours,,,,,not a thing wrong with that,,,,,asking questions is the only way we can find out what might fit our needs.

the difference is that ECF owns this forum,,,,,,,,

if I own a house, you don't have a right to vape there,,,,,,,,anymore than you have a right to smoke there. It's my house, my rules,,,,,

this is ECF's house. Their rules.

Public property and the property of others who WANT you to be able to vape and taxes and what individuals as adults should be able to buy is a wholllllllllle different ball game.

OP Question: I am having severe chest pain and shortness of breath. Any help?

1st reply: Try a higher percentage of VG.

2nd reply: I have a ProVari and never had heart attack.

3rd reply: My Reo Grand lowered my stress level.

4th reply: Maybe you're getting too many ohms. Try sub-ohm.

5th reply: Try dripping. The first thing they will do in the ER is setup a drip AND charge you $500. DIY baby!

Ladiekali, no offense intended. I was part of that thread, and only mentioned that the non-boxed innokin product did not have an authenticity sticker on it so you could not validate whether it was authentic or not.

We all know that counterfeit e-cig products exist, and in the case of LiIon batteries, the end result of poorly manufactured product can be life threatening.

My first iTaste did not have an authenticity sticker (as they did not exist yet) but I knew the reputation of the vendor so never had any doubts in my mind that it was an authentic Innokin product.

Your product, however, was purchased without a box at a rock bottom price, so it was mentioned that it was worth investigating. You performed an investigation and you got a satisfactory answer from the vendor.

It's preferable that you get a little upset at the possibility that you bought counterfeit product, and do your due diligence than for you to wake up one morning with your night stand on fire because you got a cheap fake.

I understand the difference - I've been doing the forum thing for almost 20 years. ;)

In fact, that's kind of the point. I would prefer "Because I said so" over "If you're an adult, you should be ok with being censored based on other people's 'potential' sensitivities"

I could have easily found that offensive. Am I going to report it? No.

It's important to understand the rules you are expected to follow.

well, the reason they SAY SO is "If you're an adult, you should be ok with being censored based on other people's 'potential' sensitivities".

These are the rules

Rational person - someone who likes what I like.

Troll - someone who dislikes what I like.

Hater - someone who continues to dislike something I like despite the fact I have educated them enough to remove their ignorance.

The only problem with that theory is that it can be used against you as much as you use it against me.

I leave that part for later, if I can't appeal to your sensibilities. At that point the discussion is usually very one sided.. mine!

I don't like to play the heavy handed hard hitting moderator at all times, and most folks understand and appreciate that. For those that don't get it, well, let's just say that there aren't too many of those around ECF anymore.
