Really tho...a Rule Reminder is more like a PM...it's just already set up for us to use rather than typing the info over and over and over again.
Anything that implies that a person is using banned words, is not allowed, that includes misspelling the words. That person is lucky that they didn't get caught. This is a huge forum and IMHO there's not enough moderators. Some things do manage to slip by the mods notice. And that in my opinion is a very good thing...although believe it or not I did see someone manage it by purposely misspelling....why that person did not get a ban is beyond me....I don't think I have ever gotten so mad at anything on the internet to drive me to that....but if I even came close it was because I was being genuinely trolled...
Contrary to popular rumor...it really takes a lot to get banned from here.
Most times there are many PMs, Rule Reminder and Infractions
Granted, there are the few that flame out fast...and those are quickly dealt with rather than leaving them to disrupt others here.
And theis when the sledgehammer comes down?
Well,,,,I suppose that is good...I mean we do have people trying to quit smoking here....so some are bound to be edgy and cutting off the lifeline to the reduced harm solution would be kind of mean...
actually it was before that date. Not quite sure what was going on in March to explain those numbers. I think the million post night happened last year (?)
It wasn't always that way, Classy. I remember the old days, when a new person would sign up and then make a post that the "rules were stupid", or that "ECF should do things "their" way". There weren't many of them, but those that did post comments like that, were gone in a heartbeat. 'BANNED"Contrary to popular rumor...it really takes a lot to get banned from here.

But of course~!
It is our sigh of relief that the Forum can go back to its usual chaotic normalcy

Wait a minute, now I'm confused, Robin. I thought that the mods were computer generated virtual beings, designed to interact on an equal basis, with the members. Are you saying that they are real people? OMG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!I really like this thread.
Thank you DC for starting this. It may not have been exactly what you were thinking it would turn into, but the information that is being shared here is priceless. Maybe a better understanding of what ECF is, and how it is run, and that mods are people too.![]()
So.. thanks
The first week in March, ECF was down for 2 days.. I remember it well, because the first day was my 5th day smoke-free and I was going NUTS! I think we all were so happy and relieved when it came back, posting went bananas!

Yup, late 2009, early 2010. It was a small forum then, Classy, under 30k members. Truthfully, I think that's the reason that Lis and I got away with so much mischief !!Jerry, that was in 2009
I don't remember that all. Proves brain farts are good for something.![]()
