I highly recommend vitamin water...it has no salt (unlike gatorade), and still regenerates your electrolytes and is LOADED with b12...which is better than caffeine for energy, and lasts longer...they also use pure reverse osmosis water...about the cleanest hydration you can put into your body...I generally drink 6-12 of them a day...and have no trouble (I also work outside and sweat...a lot)....just to give you an option anyways...I know it helps me a ton

I also take B12 but sublingually. Best absorption is by injection, next sublingual and finally orally more so for the elderly. Make sure that the B12 is Methylcobalamin rather than Cyanocobalamin as the body has to process the Cyanocobalamin into Methylcobalamin anyways and Cyanocobalamin also contains trace amounts of cyanide...reason you'll easily find Cyanocobalamin B12 is it's far cheaper to manufacture.
Cyanocobalamin Versus Methylcobalamin

I experienced a little of this when I quit smoking and just vaped. I'd get a slight heavy feeling in my chest and a sense that I wasn't getting quite enough oxygen. Along with that I had some congestion and a productive cough. That was a month to six weeks after quitting. As time passed that went away. I wondered if I was developing a sensitivity to PG, since I vape 100% PG juices. It disappeared over time.

Some people are hydration sensitive in blood pressure and water retention. I just thought I'd mention that you just want to get to the point where your urine is clear to a very pale yellow to judge proper hydration levels. You shouldn't be able to detect a noticeable depression if you press your finger into the shin bone on your leg or your ankles. If you can, you may be a little over hydrated from the increased water intake. Too much can be detrimental for some people.

I haven't smoked an analog since July 24, 2012. I have been vaping. When I was smoking, I didn't have any trouble breathing. For the past few days approx 3 days, I have had a terrible time breathing. My ribs and upper back hurt, and I feel like I am straining to take in air. I wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem? Maybe a reaction to the pg?

As much as I love ECF. We are not doctors. Please go see your physician and make sure you are ok. Wouldn't want to say something like oh yeah you need to drink more water and you end up having pneumonia and die:(

Not to be critical (honestly) but electrolytes = salts
And also it's pretty important to have a regular amount of table salt in your diet.

I understand this...but there is zero sodium in vw....and other things classify as electrolytes other than just salt (the chemicals your body crates when it Ingests salt are the electrolytes) ...and you also get tons of other things to help the dehydration: protein, potassium are the first to come to mind without glancing at a label...as well as a bounty of other vitamins...and yes...salt is healthy to a point...but the only reason to load up on then is if you're an athlete going through extreme physical excursion...other than that what you get from food (that bag of chips you had at lunch) is enough...as too much salt can also bring about dehydration.

If I thought it was something severe, I wouldn't be here asking, lol!

Just so that everyone knows, I am taking in more water and I am feeling better! :) I didnt think about the fact of needing more liquids because of healing:p

It has been 11 days since my last analog!!!

Do check out the health sub forum here. If you are in discomfort, then go see the doctor. One thing I didn't see too much mention if in the replies was about PG. Drinking more water is spot on of course. But other than the water, you might want to try VG only and see if that helps. I'm very PG sensitive and had the same symptoms as you. Then I went to to 100% VG and no more problems - (EXCEPT when I'm not drinking enouigh water of course :) . I use cartos and I clearos with 100% VG but not had any problems with them. I did upgrade to the 650 eGo Twist for a bit more oomph though.

It could be pulmonary edema. I had a slight problem with this from post nasal drip. The way you can tell is if your heartrate is quite rapid when you lay down to bed. If it is, then that means that your lungs aren't working right and your blood oxygen levels are effected which is why your heart is beating faster to make up the difference. I figured it out when I had myself a good hack and the heartrate dropped back to normal. I still get it sometimes when I drink heavily but that's another story. Other than that it's gone.

PG can affect your sinuses. What I would do if I were you is to try a product called XLEAR. It's like 8 bucks for a small bottle and it will clear you right out. If that doesn't work, you have two options. Go all VG juice (and read up on that because you have to thin it or it won't vape) or go see your pulmonologist. You may have latent asthma that you didn't know about and need to get treatment for it. Drinking water can't hurt either. I quit drinking anything but water and tea for almost 2 years now. This idea that you need a pop or soda with every meal is ridiculous. You get used to water only within a week. You won't even miss the sugar water crap you used to drink and you save a buttload of money in the process. Invest in a good filter or a fridge with filtered water. Win! Don't drink that bottle crap though it's bad for the environment and I can't suggest non-fluoridated water either. Get yourself a nice steel water canteen that's BPA free if it has a plastic lid.

Under no circumstances should you EVER use a neti pot. People have died from brain infections using them.

I feel much better, now that I have increased my water intake. I drink quite a bit of water anyways, and live a pretty healthy lifestyle. It just didnt occur to me that vaping would use more, and that when healing, you need more fluids. It has been 15 days, now and I feel so much better! Thanks to everyone who has given me advice on this thread!!!

So glad to hear you're doing much better. Amazingly shocking what dehydration will do to us and I'm glad you got it sorted out. Also realize the cilia have been damaged for smoking and need lottsa water for the repair process but the good news is:
"Remarkably though, smoking cessation can undo the damage to cilia rather quickly. In fact, the cilia begin to repair themselves and regenerate in number within only three days after quitting. It should be noted that coughing is a common side effect to this process and may last from a few days to several weeks. This is because the restored cilia are working overtime to remove impurities and mucous from the lungs.
Happy Vaping.

kinda incomplete information.

One person died from doing canonballs in a dirty river (water got up their nose) and the other case was using contaminated tap water in a neti pot, in a very poor area of louisinana where the tap water was influenced from high ground water problems.

Clean water poses absolutely no danger at all, with clean netipot, and water is distilled or boiled if you think your water has parasites in it.

Swimming in streams, water-parks, and rivers is just as dangerous, if contaminated water enters your nose or ears.

Vaping contaminated ejuice on equipment that isn't clean could probably do a number on you, too. Just like eating parasitic meat would cause e-coli.

A little over one month in, no analogs! I am happy to announce that I now do not have any symptoms whatsoever.:)
I really appreciate the ECF people on here. So much information!!! Been a life saver so to say. I did steer away from the V2 pre-filled. I boiled them out and I now get my e-juice from deejstuff.com.

Again, thank you everyone who commented on here!

Happy vaping everyone!!! :vapor:

I can attest to the dehydration. I knew to drink plenty of agua con mi e cig. But I guess I wasn't drinking enough. Now I've got 2 really good sized canker sores, and a bit of a sore throat as a testament. I've had some headaches too lately, so I'm upping my water intake quite a bit. I have two empty water bottles with one half full next to me now. I've noticed the problems go away pretty quickly once you start getting rehydrated. I think its time to cut back on the soda as well.

But I agree with others, drink LOTS of water. Maybe some supplements would be a good idea too, and be sure to eat right. You're bodies going to be going through a lot of hell getting off the cigs. Your lungs will want to turn back on, your sinuses will probably bother you, and you'll pretty ....ty for a while. Definitely contact a doctor about your symptoms as he may be able to tell you which supplements would help as well as the amount of water you should be drinking and types of food to eat. He can probably tell you what happens to your body once you quit smoking too ;)

Edit: just noticed I'm really late to this party. My bad. But you are a walking testament to new vapors. Thanks for checking back in with your condition :D
