My bf is a non-smoker and he is not happy that I haven't just "quit completely" and that I am spending $$$ on e-cigs. He also constantly complains about the smell and doesn't want me to use my e-cig in my own apartment (which he doesn't live in). I can use the least smelliest juice and he will still complain.
WHAT? What a cheek! That is your own place, you should be able to vape there!

By the way, Loveridden- you have quit smoking completely, if you're not smoking, just vaping. Whatever else you may want to quit is up to you.

Did you smoke when you met him? Then...he chose to be with a nicotine addict.

We all have our little couple squabbles. But it gets under my skin when I hear about people who were happy to hook up with someone, but as soon as it gets serious, they want that person to change. Not cool.

When I stopped smoking, a lot of mutual friends said to my wife, "you must be so happy!"

She always answered that not really, smoking never bothered her.

"But surely you didn't like living with that smell?"

"He smoked when I met him. I could have chosen someone else."

So you see what I mean- going to get her something nice for xmas.

OK, I must admit I laughed at the last line, especially looking at your avatar hehe... It must have been a joke though! However... my husband would never ever dream of saying such a thing to me, or me to him. Mutual respect all around is the answer to a happy relationship IMO.
Just saying.

It wasn't a joke. I respect her but I refused to be bore down to a submissive "yes m'am" shell of a man. She actually apologized for giving me such a hard time about it because it's the only thing that I really get to do. I work, come home, go to bed, wake up, and go to work most of the time every day. It is rare for me to have a day off. This is my one and only vice I get to use and she was giving me .... about it.

She however has 3-4 "hobbies" that surpass my vaping expenses.

If you throw a frog in boiling water he will jump out, if you put him in cool water and slowly heat it up to a boil you will cook him. It takes personal reflection to realize the water is getting warm and jump out before your cooked.

My wife isn't really supportive at all either, and she smokes. It might be because I've done a lot of stupid things before, so she has no way of telling this isn't stupid. Add to that when I started spending time doing a blog about the things, and let's just say things were a little... tense for a while.

She's gotten to the resigned stage at this point. Still gets grumpy about the online thing, but doesn't really grouse about the vaping so much any more. In fact, the other day she bought me a storage box for my stuff. Then again she did tell me if it didn't all fit I should get rid of some of it.

HAHAHAHA these are the the things we think are nice, that they do for us! "Darling, look at the nice case I got you for all of your ecig stuff!" Ohh.. thanks! That is great! It is kind of small though... "Well hunny, maybe you should get rid of some stuff!"

Girls are sneaky man.. they know what they are doing.

Hahah yeah, she's sneaky alright :) I actually do intend to get rid of some stuff, I have a bunch of things leftover from reviews and whatnot I want to give away in the treasure chest. I just keep forgetting to do it, and now I just refuse to go to the post office until after Christmas. Plus if I did it now, she'd get the idea that her scheme worked ;-)

Detroit, sorry about all the trouble your getting at home. My best guess is, her addiction is causing her to feel threatened. When my husband (non smoker) nagged me about quitting for 10 years I would go nuts. I couldn't handle the thought of quitting, it caused instant anxiety and stress. Perhaps your quit makes her feel pressured in this way. Shes afraid to losing you if she doesnt quit and afraid of losing her cigs.

Yes, my husband was a total @$$ and non supportive of my ecigs. The first thing he complained about was the cost even though I'm perfectaly capable of paying for my toys. After the first week of my quit he told me that I really hadn't quit anything, that vaping didn't count at all,and he was NOT proud of my accomplishment. (I was a 1-1/2 ppd smoker for 27 years) Needless to say I went off and we argued for weeks about it. Month 3 of my quit he moved on to the "they have antifreeze in them stage" and I read him every report I could find regarding the ingredients. Again we argued 2 more months when one day he said "so you quit smoking....Now when are you going to quit those?" I replied NEVER AND YOU BETTER GET USED TO IT! END OF SUBJECT! And he finally gave up, by month 7 he bought me a MOD for our anniversary :) and now I mix him a 0 nic juice he loves. He only vapes a mil or 2 a month but he has designated my Mini Reo as his.

Well next month will be 1 year smoke free, and I have never felt better or have been more proud of myself. He's proud of me too and after a lot of heated arguments he has accepted me as a life long vaporer. He does get jealous on occasion and thinks I pay more attention to my toys than him (not at all true:) ) But it did work it's self out. Don't give up and WE support you and will always have your back!

Sorry to all for the non-supportive loved ones that you have to deal with. :(

Bad news: We have to stockpile because of organizations that want their cig tax dollars back.
Good news: The more family members who get on their cases to leave us alone, the sooner we can stop stockpiling.

Bad news: We have to spend money this year, when times are tough
Good news: We can ride through next year when times are tougher, if the orgs get off our hineys.

Bad news: We can't take our loved ones out to dinner this year due to stockpiling expenses
Good news: We can take them on a world cruise next year when we don't have stockpile anymore because our loved ones fought like mad and we won our freedom to vape. We'll be able to vape a whole year's worth of stockpiled goodies and treat our loved ones to a world of wonder.

Best of luck to all of us.

anyone have trouble with your spouse being un-supportive? my feiance(spell check) seemed happy for me at first...
then she started offering me real cigs even though i told her several times i didnt want any. then i bought my ego-t and she started to get a slight additude about it "why do you need that one whats wrong with the one you got at the gas station!?" ok so she got over that... now shes been tellin me the last few days "you should have extra money with this smoking thing so go buy this,go buy that" and she gets mad when i say "it takes time to save money, i have to gather all my spare parts and such"

my question is... WHY CANT THEY BE HAPPY WERE NOT SMOKING??!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

sorry about this.. i just needed to vent because i feel like im gonna blow up on her right now, thank god she went to bed already or i probably would have...

anyone eles have somthing similer happen? any luck trying to explane or get her/him off your back about it?

she just makes it so frustrating for me and i dont even think she relizes what shes doing.

thanks for any comments.

She's feeling threatened. Plain and simple. It's like when two fat people are together and one loses a bunch of weight, the other quits being supportive and tried to sabatoge the new lifestyle. The thinner person who is losing weight and getting healthy can't understand why the other isn't supportive. It's human nature. She's resentful of your new habit because it takes away from her and the common bond (of smoking) that you shared. I'm a woman too, and while I feel for her (and understand why she is feeling and acting this way).. she needs to understand she's gonna eventually lose you if she keeps this up.

I don't know how big your balls are.. but this may be the "litmus" test.

I think it doesnt smell at all what do you guys think?

I think you should look in to the hobby of competitive gas passing
She will then quickly learn to love the smell of butterscotch  lol
