Back in 1986 or '87, in West Germany, in the Army. One of my buddies bought a brand new Commodore 64 "personal computer" gizmo. You could hook it up to your TV and play games on it! One of those games was "Hunchback Olympics" (yes, 8-bit hunchbacks competing at track and field events). For a username, I tried to put in "quasimodo". Back then, file names could only be 8 characters max, so it came out as "quasimod". I thought, "quasi-modern, that's kinda cool". I pronounce it "KWA-zee-mahd" in my head. (ˈkwä-zē-mäd)

That's a lot of words for such a simple story, sorry.

Your daughter is quite an artist!

Does she do this professionally?

Not yet. She has one more semester before her graphic arts training at a local technical college is complete, and then we'll release her into the wild.

I'll pass your compliment along to her as a confidence booster... thanks! :)

I've been "Leannebug" since I first came online, back in 96 (eeks.. has it been that long??)

I picked the name because; well my first name is Leanne, and when i was a wee little one, I had barretts with my name on them-- and little ladybugs.

Hence: Leannebug was born (and wrecking havoc all over the WWW ever since!) :D
