New member still learning the ropes.

So the back story:
September was a bad month for me. My vision gets worse, no big deal I go get stronger glasses. A week later my vision seems to change again. I go to the doctor and get diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. While talking to the doctor it is strage cause he normally gives me a quick lecture about smoking. He tells me oh dont try to quit smoking for a while (Due to the effect it would have on diet and body with adjusting meds.) Jump forward a week, life is good and I am understanding my new routine of poking my fingers, watching what I eat and in general making healthier food choices. It is time to start slelecting benifits for 2013. New feature this year if you are a analog smoker congratulations your insurace premiums TRIPLE! (from $21 a pay cycle to $58 a pay cycle.) Hence the ecig.

Issue:
Every morning I feel hung over, and I haven't drank, blood sugar is normal. I understand this is dehydration. I currently already drink a lot of water, I drank 2 gallons a day prior to using a ecig I squeezed another galon in once I read that ecigs cause dehydration. Still waking up with that hung over feeling. I am currently using a Blu starter kit with 18mg VG Classic tobacco and Vivid Vanilla. I am still mixing in a few analogs at the advise of my quit smoking coach. Any other idea how to get rid of that hung over/dehydrated feeling in the morning?

Thanks in advance.

When did you start vaping? Last month? How long were you smoking for? How many cigarettes a day? Your body most likely is still adjusting, hang in there and keep drinking lots of water but not too much because you can get water poisoning.

And like the post above, it could be something else medical related i.e. thyroid disorder, etc..

What PV are you using and what strength eliquid? You may need a better, more consistent PV and a little higher strength eliquid to eliminate those last 3 -4 cigs. It took me a little over a month to quit altogether but I was using one of those mini-PV's so once I moved up to a better model PV, it made all the difference in quiting completely.

Good Luck.

Your dehydration my be a result of drastic changes in your diet. Moving to healthier food choices may have greatly decreased your sodium intake. This in conjunction with your large water intake as well as other lifestyle change that you have made to help control your blood sugar, may be causing your sodium levels top drop. But anyhow, I'm glad to see you made an appointment. Dehydration is very dangerous for diabetics.

this is true, but what they don't tell you is when it "actually" start to happen !! they say immediately HA!!!!

i felt and slept like krap for the first month, kept wondering when all this good feeling stuff was gonna happen ??

the krappy feeling did dimish,it just took awhile ,so hang in there you will notice the benefits of dumping the stinkies

Vapoor eyes er: Yes only thing I've vaped so far has been VG only. Looking at potentially going to 75vg 25pg once I get a better rig.

RosaJ: My brand claims not to use any PG. Looking at potentially going to 75vg 25pg once I get a better rig.

wv2win: Plan is to get an ego twist still working out some details. I am currently using a Blu starter kit with 18mg VG Classic Tobacco and Vivid Vanilla.

Thanks for all the support. In short I'm understanding just don't worry too much unless it worsens since I already got a doc apointment?

One more thing to look at is how MUCH you're vaping. If you're chain vaping plus smoking analogs here and there, you may be suffering from a nicotine overdose. High levels of nicotine will make you feel like crap just like anything else used in excess. If you're chain vaping, try cutting it back a bit and see how you feel.

Also check with your doctor to be sure you are actually dehydrated. Drinking too much water will flush electrolytes from your system and give you similar symptoms to what you're describing. There is actually a term called "water drunk."

Some have issues with PG while others find they have issues with VG. Most of the vapers that use 100% VG are usually doing it because they have issues vaping PG. If there's no reason to be vaping 100% VG I would try the 50/ 50% PG/VG. You'll still get loads of vapor.
The Best of Luck.

Quick update: Twist is here, haven't been to the doc yet, got to wait till November for my next A1C. I have been carrying a quart water bottle with my vape kit and just take a swig off of it while vaping. If I refill my clearo I refill the water bottle. Was having the the same hung over feeling. Saturday I let my self go (was a special occasion.) Blood sugar went sky high for about 4 hours, but then came back down... haven't had the hung over feeling since, also been analog free for about 4 days now. What ever it was may have been tied to the diabetes not vaping but when my sugar went sky high and came back down it seemed to be like a reset button. Still going to talk to the doc about it. As far as the juice I'm using, well I want to get some Boba's Bounty but that is because a coworker let me taste some, but in my kit I got about 15 different flavors to try and didn't stick with 100%VG, in fact the one that I like the best thus far is a 50/50.

A few quick questions because your back story lacked some information, (at least I couldn't figure it out) such as: did the doc visit do a complete work up? Sometimes thyroid problems are overlooked. When I was diagnosed with Graves Disease it was because I was having vision problems and my doc visit (tests) immediately diagnosed thryroid problems. Are you taking medications? Do you have Sleep Apnea or other sleep disorder? How long was the hung over feeling going on? Did it only just begin when you started vaping and if so, could you have been getting way more nicotine than before (smoking plus vaping?) Another poster already suggested TOO much water causes problems, as does not enough water. Changes in diet too. Pregnancy. The quit smoking symptoms list goes on and on too!

Maybe you've already figured out that high blood sugar caused the hung over feeling in your case?

For some people even the smallest amount of PG in the juice causes problems (even the VG juices could have up to 20% PG in them because of PG based flavors), as you might already know. Also, someone suggested that it could be problems with VG. Sounds like you have a lot of figuring out to do!

Good luck :) P.S. You brought up a good point about health insurance.... do they charge more for smoking or nicotine use? Now I'm curious.... I have to go look in those matters because my premiums seem too high................

-Doc did a whole blood workup on me, liver, kidneys, thyroid, iron, lipid panel, a1c, ect. Everything came back fine other than triglycerides and blood sugar.
-On metformin and provstatin, had been taking before vaping.
-no sleep disorders
-lasted until i had the day with high blood sugar, had been running around about 109 average, jumped up to about 200 for a day (lots of sweets and alcohol and soda low activity) each morning the hangover would last about 30 min to an hour.

Its really not bothering me any more but going to mention it to the doc just in case. That is what I pay him for anyhow.
