I'm not mistaken- and routinely avoids any sort of possibly nerdlike behavior that might take away from his strenuous routine of drinking and playing video games and not working. (He's my age, 34, by the way.)

Hey! I'm 26, and I play video games and don't work (at the moment). Though, I read quite often and I am in school. One might argue that playing video games is a 'nerd-like' quality, effectively making your BIL a wannabe psuedo-nerd or maybe an in-closet-nerd

My family is very understanding and open-minded about electronic cigarettes. In fact, since I've started, my Mother, Aunt Tammy, and cousin Bobby have all been using them. I believe my Aunt is the only one who's quit smoking completely, but the other two have drastically reduced their cigarette usage and I am very proud of them all. Just as they're very proud that I've completely quit smoking for over 3 months.

Tomorrow, I plan on bringing over an entire vaping setup to a close buddy of mine in hopes of acquiring yet another soul to the cause. Which, in my eyes, is the preservation of human life :)

I have the worst utterly moronic comment and I hate it because it's completely understandable.

I got one of those things at the mall. They taste like crap and don't work!

When I hear that I tell them they bought the model T and they want the modern Cadillac version.

Well, the most moronic thing I believed when I first started was that I would save money.

That's the one thing that I never understand. My roommate and I both are saving a LOT of money but I guess it depends on how heavy you are into modding and always changing it up and buying new things. For us, we're happy dripping in our Ego's and don't need all the fancy and expensive stuff. All I need in a month is juice, a couple atomizers and my ego and I'm good to go which roughly cut my spending in half from when I was on analogs. Keeps me off the analogs and it's definitely satisfying and pleasurable.

I know I know, certain mods and this and that can increase the taste, TH, vapor, it's part of vaping, but if I'm happy now and enjoying it, I don't want to get anything else because then I probably would turn the corner and spend more than before I vaped. So personally, I do tell people they CAN save money by switching to vaping... but that's if they don't over do it.

I kept all of my reciepts from everything I bought for vaping for the first year. I added them up and subtracted from the $3200.00 I would have spent on my Benson & Hedges in a year. I saved $2500.00. ( that's right, I only spent $700.00 on vaping supplies) I might add that I own a Chuck, a GLV2, crappy wetbox that doesn't work anymore, four Riva kits (they were cheap) and a Buzz.
I attribute most of this savings to mixing my own juice and buying cartos that last a week.

First off, there are many hilarious comments in this thread, thanks for the smiles =)

I spent a lot of money at first. Juice orders every week and always trying new atties, cartos, clearos, then came the mods. Since I got my provari in March I have been able to stop spending completely. I think I've had 3 orders since then and I'm finally in the green! Once you hit your stride and are able to quit trying new things for a while I think the savings can really start to add up. Of course now I really really REALLY want a Reo lol!

Said Debian Dog, "Someone should design business cards you can hand out with a web address to here for further questions."

I ask my favorite e-vendors for extra business cards, then I stick a return-address label with the URL for ECF on them. I also have printed out the two-fold brochure and distribute those.

Makes me think of that funny man..Bill Engvall. Here's your sign.

"Stupid people should have to wear signs that just say, "I'm Stupid" That way you wouldn't rely on them, would you? You wouldn't ask them anything. It would be like, "Excuse me...oops, never mind. I didn't see your sign." ...

ROFL! Too funny! If that were the case I would be screwed at work. All my bosses would be wearing that sign lol!

People that didn't pay too much attention in highschool science class tend to believe things with no further investigation. I was gobsmacked when I heard "I dont even drink diet soda because of the carbs". I told them it had none. They insisted that it does because of the the carbonated water. WTF?!?!? "um, carbon dioxide is NOT the same as a carbohydrate". They replied "they both have carbon in it" Ok, they were right but... "um, you can eat a ton of charcoal briquets, which is all carbon, but it won't make you fat." I walked away thinking how their school system failed them in a big way.

Another person said something about how serious the electro magnetic radiation from cell phones are and that that they bought this copper sticker to protect them from it. After I stopped laughing, I said "Um, wouldn't it make more sense to put that copper sticker on the front of your head than on the back of your phone?" "oh, BTW, that electric fan you're sitting infront of for hours a day is a giant unshielded spinning electro magnet..."

With personal vapers (I **HATE** calling them e-cigs) I found more people curious about them than prejudiced. I try my best to show them what the real deal is and how the things they previously heard is often just wrong. Yes it shares an ingredient propylene glycol that is in anti-freeze, but it's the methanol and ethylene glycol that makes it toxic; no PV liquid contains them. There is PG in dozens of things that we consume/use (just read the labels). I then tell them I vape (I try to never use the word "smoke") VG based liquid etc etc. I helped many understand better and even converted a few "smokers". It will take time and a certain vigilance to promote the truth.

BTW, I'm an ex clove smoker too (Djarum Specials for 2 decades) and now they no longer smells delicious... it's kinda sad but for the better.

I've saved ALOT of money vaping for the last 2 months. Here in NY, a pack of cigarettes is 10 bucks. As a pack a day smoker, that's right around $600 I didn't spend.

Now let's break down my vaping spending:
Ego-T starter kit: $65
80ml of various flavors from BWB: around $50
2 spare attys from MVS: $20
and I just bought some new stuff from LF today: an ego cone, 5 pack of Boge LR cartos, LR 306 atty, and 2 drip tips (yeah, going to try dripping and carts, the tanks are pissing me off) Total: $23

Grand total: $158

and based on my 1-1.5ml/day standard so far, I have enough juice and supplies to last another month at minimum. So let's make that $900-$158 = $742 saved over 3 months! Not too shabby if you ask me.

I haven't gone through the thread, just to add to this.

"You haven't really quit cigarette smoking." My response: Have I lit up? Nope. Is this smoke or vapor? Vapor. Do I still have a nic habit? Yes. Have I bought a pack of cigarettes in X months? Nope.

"Doesn't that have oil in it?" My response: It doesn't have the full essence of oil (or however someone explain it to me) aka the bad oil.

"Why don't you use the patch, gum, or Chantix?" My response: My uncle died from the patch. That's a no right there. I don't need to have a gum chewing addiction. Chewing nicotine sounds absolutely orally destructive and deadly. Don't even get me STARTED on Chantix, especially with the new article about the "secret, hidden results of deaths related to Chantix.

"Why the e-cigarette?" Because it helps me with my hand-to-mouth addiction, which is extremely helpful to stay away from cigarettes. I enjoy it, I feel better, and I'm not angry about quitting.

People love drama. Drama causes ignorance. Ignorance causes uprising. It doesn't matter anymore what it is about, as long as someone gets off by driving other people insane.

Schadenfreude, a lovely German term, is everywhere. The word is defined as such: Please derived by someone else's misfortune. Most of the anti-e-cigarette followers just want to see us miserable over the FDA/governmental issues with e-cigarettes because "we shouldn't have smoked in the first place". I was told to my face that this lady was happy that I'd be miserable about e-cigarettes being banned because of the quote I just put there. She told me that she'd be happier to see smokers suffer if the e-cigarette was banned because there shouldn't be a product that assimilates cigarettes and that might help because it's an "excuse" to not truly quit. Mind you, if I hadn't walked away, I would have probably gotten arrested for disturbing the peace, but I did successfully leave the building. People f:censored:cking suck.

I actually had stayed overnight in the hospital about 6 months ago. The morning Doctor came in and started running down his list of questions that I was asked about 25 times since I got there the night before. When he got to "Do you smoke?" I told him no, I haven't had a cigarette in over a year and a half at least, Ive been using an e-cig. He immediately jumped up on his high horse a said "Well you need to stop that immediately. Don't you know they put antifreeze in them?" I took a calm deep breath and said "Look dude (not doctor, I was in a bad mood already from not getting any sleep because a nurse kept coming in my room every 20 min to check the machine they had on me instead of just getting anoter one!) First off I was a mechanic for over 15 years, and antifreeze is made from ethylene glycol, and the electronic cigarette uses proyplene glycol. And second I dont know who "they" is but I make my own liquid and know everything that's going into it." So his big responce in an all knowing voice came back with, "so what exactly is proyplene glycol then." Just said " I dont know doc but they have only been using it in in asthma inhalers and nebulizers for about 60 years now. He looked in awe,:?: kind of scratched his head a bit and said well I guess you did your homework, I'll have to do a little more research on it. He was so dumbfounded he totally forgot about the questionds he had started asking me and said a nurse will be in in a little bit to check you out, and just walked out of the room. I just had to laugh a little, pulled out my pv and vaped away.

I distrust all doctors because of guys like that. They are the same ones who push pricey non generic drugs because a pretty girl buys him lunch and hands him fist full of samples.

Last time in was sick he wanted to prescribe me a $160 dollar antibiotic instead of amoxicillin which works perfectly fine for what I had. I told him he was fired and made an appointment somewhere else.
