Ok, your likely right. I just ordered 240ml of 100mg nic salts to play with then. :)
I've not been a huge fan. When I can vape as I please (about 99% of the time) I prefer the "bite" of regular nic (I normally use 13 mg/ml). The place I've found salts to be useful is in situations where my vaping is limited, such as when I'm working the floor of a trade show. But even then, I ended up mixing the 36 mg salt juice with my regular unflavored to get something in the 25 mg range.

I have to admit, I still don't get the 35-50mg juice thing. The 18mg stuff I'm using right now in the pod seems fine to me. I might just mix up 30ml of 50mg juice to see what its about. (maybe)

g.

Maybe it's designed for folks who are just coming off a pack a day. I used 24mg when I first started, even had a bottle of 36, that would knock me out today.

I've been using salts for a while now, maybe a year or more. I mix it low anyway, 2mg usually, or even 1mg. Zero throat hit at that level. When I travel, I mix it around 8mg or so. Helps in situations where I can't vape as frequently. I'll be switching back to regular nic once my bottle runs dry, just because I'm not inclined to re-order the salts since I typically vape such low mg/ml anyway.

Yeah, I can understand that. If I hadn't picked up vaping until after Juul was widely available, I could see myself having fallen into that trap.

Still, the manner in which I vape now is less hassle for me than smoking was. I have no need to go out and buy smokes every 5 days. The last time I mixed juice was in April. I've done nothing to my gear except fill squonk bottles and swap batteries since July. Of course, it did take a while to get to this point.

when we started there was no such thing back then, it was cigalikes for me the first year. Now I am the same as you, mix big, fill a small tank for the provari or squonk bottle for the reo or Vmod (yes I still use them), change a battery and find it carefree compared to blue fishtank filters or cartos LOL
Is it ok so feel so...sad, angry...considering what we know and have been through that it has come to this?

I used 36mg when I first started, did that for like 7 years... but recently over the past 5 years or so I have slowly scaled down to 18mg... Not sure how some of these people are doing just 3mg, I would go bonkers.... but with my current stash of just 11.5L (gotta split that with the wife) I may need to taper down some more to make it last a lifetime. Thinking of getting another liter or two so i am more comfortable and can taper down a bit more slowly.

Better to have too much than not enough.

I'm a little slower on the uptake than some. It took me 6 months to stumble across the flavor that made me forget to smoke. I don't see that changing. In fact with fewer flavors, that decision and conclusion sort of vanish. You'll either learn to like what's available or not.

That said, it was about 3 yrs of trial & error before I got the vaping thing low maintenance enough to truly be considered as convenient as smoking. As in fresh tank and battery in the morning to run all day, and not something prone to leaks, coil failures, etc.

Or maybe designed by people that have no experience vaping or smoking. At the very least by a tightly controlled focus group of smokers given only a small selection of crappy mass-market c-store vapes to choose which one they liked the most. Least worst if you will.

I thought salts were a gimmick at first.. I really like them now

I tend to like having a "throat hit" so likely won't like the salts much.

While the shops I stopped by had 0 nic juice nether of them had unflavored. (something that might change here in the coming days/weeks/months)

I hate to see vape shops closing. That means some people will go back to smoking cigarettes. It's a win for big tobacco, but a loss for those who vape. If you don't DIY, it's time to learn.

Extending nic life is all about mix levels. If you can titrate slowly down to a lower level your liter of 100mg nic can last for many years if you freeze it. I started at 24mg nic back in 2010. Several years ago I began to drop my nic level periodically. I've been at 3mg strength since then. Vaping 8ml per day at 3mg/ml nic levels translates to 9 years per liter of 100mg nic. The two liters in my freezer should take me out to late 2037.

In some of these states where possession is illegal, I wonder what they want the shops to do with their flavored liquid inventory? Throw it away? smh
No kidding. I cannot imagine how those shop owners feel. :( Did you watch that video of a shop owner I posted earlier, in I think this thread? :( You'd think they'd at least allow them to sell their wares online to customers out-of-state.

Just so you know - you don't have to buy a bunch of tools for DIY juice. All I use are syringes (the kind without the needle) and empty bottles (I just bought a pack of 10 ldpe unicorn bottles from Liquid Nicotine Wholesalers for $5.00)

I rinse out the syringes and re-use until the writing is gone, and that takes a while.. plus, they are inexpensive to buy. You can even pick up some various sizes at places like Tractor Supply and not worry about shipping costs. You need a handful of 1ml syringes, and a couple of the 3,6,10 and 20ml..

nothing else is needed. Just shake the bottle of juice periodically while it steeps.. no big deal, no equipment necessary.

The other stuff makes it easier perhaps, but it's not like you need a bunch of stuff for the basics.

You can get a couple two or three ingredient recipes from people right here on this forum..

You can do this, even broke.
The grocery store sells meat injection syringe, that are 30/35 ml. Cut the point off with your wire cutters. It will make your diy much easier.

If I owned a vape shop in MA, I would have cut a deal with an out of state vendor and rented a Penske truck to move it last week. It probably would have been a below cost deal to liquidate, but any price would be a better deal than being stuck holding all that inventory for at least 4 months. Not to mention, the ready made stuff does have a shelf life not much longer than that.

Every week or so I would make my mix a mg lower so that I finally got down to 5 mg. I didnt notice it at all. Started at 24 mg. I cant seem to mske that leap to 3 mg though. Seems so huge. Lol
