See, that's the thing. It's widely unaccepted to smoke inside public places like Walmart or a lot of restaurants but vaping isn't smoking. The vapor dissipates and if studies continue to show that there is no second hand issues involved then why not be able to vape everywhere?

Sure, it would be rude to blow vapor into someone's face, I guess I am just a strong believer that people are a little too sensitive on what is and isn't accepted in society. I don't usually bring my PV out with me unless I know I am going to be gone for at least an hour or two but I don't find anything wrong with vaping in Walmart ~ if someone were to approach me and ask me not to, I'd most likely stop, out of respect.

Basically, all I am saying is that if vaping causes no one else harm, then I don't believe it's something that needs to be conceiled. -two cents.

Yes, this...

I vape at Walmart all of the time. Generally I'm fairly discrete, but there are times people come around the corner of an aisle just as I exhale. Our trips to Walmart are usually after a day spent running other errands in town, which is an hour drive from our middle of nowhere house. A day out, dragging a 7 year old who makes everything take longer because she has to look at everything in every store we go to and is grumpy by the time we get to grocery shopping makes me tired and in pain (I have Fibromyalgia) and therefore I end up grumpy too. When I smoked I was REALLY REALLY grumpy by the time we finished (usually about an hour and a half to 2 hours )at Walmart. Now that I vape I can hit it occasionally and remain much calmer, which is good for everyone around me. It makes something I dreaded every week or 2 into something bearable.

I'm really confused and more than a bit frustrated. Why would this be rude. Has PC really brought us to this level. Good grief, do you people sneeze in public. This really bothers me. Do you try and stop the steam from coming out of your mouth when you breathe in cold weather?
And by the way, yes I do vape in public, stores, restaurants, wherever. Why wouldn't I. Vaping is a wonderful thing and is NO WAY intrusive. A positive thing that more people should be exposed to.

I used to pseudo-stealth vape in places back when I had my eGo. I still feel a little self conscious about being caught so I try not to be noticed. Since I got my Provari its become difficult as its practically a pocket sized fog machine. I find that as time has gone on I can go longer periods without needing the nic so its not a big deal to me anymore. When I was a smoker I HAD to have a smoke every 1.5 hours, 2 at the most or people around me wouldn't like me.

After 2 hours shopping for groceries (monthly trip 4 I live in the mountains) you bet I'll stealth I think ppl are missing the point of.....
stealth to hold it in till no "cloud" (not smoke) is produced or to otherwise exhale discreetly. No one has yet to notice me stealth vaping. I do not hide the fact my eGo comes to my mouth nor the fact I'm sucking in it for 10sec. I just hold my breath.....

Some places let you vape all you need to do is ask. After all the worst you will get is a no. Nothing was more fun the sitting at a restaurant eating, vaping, drinking and laughing with 30+ ECF members at the GA vape meet. All we had to do was ask. Money talks, enough ppl/friends and your wallets will matter more then the BS whiners... People can just open up and ask...

I've asked at a few restaurants here in town, and was told yes. In most of those instances there were few people inside eating at the time. The owner of The Ukiah Brewery here in town was really cool about it, he said I could vape in there any time I wanted. More and more people are learning about the e-cigs as they become more popular. Even though I have permission from the owner of the establishment, I wouldn't vape if "nons" were sitting at the table next to me.

I don't really consider it rude if you have permission from the owner and there aren't non-vapers/smokers in your immediate vicinity, IMHO ... :)

Because its rude. What gives you the right to taint the indoor air of others? Vaping is a wonderful thing to you or i...not people who arent addicted to nicotine. Maybe in hillbillyland its ok...not where i come from.

Keep vaping in restaurants, hope youre prepared to get embarrassed in front of whoever you are with.

No offense, but you kinda sound like a non... :) (non= non smoker or non vaper) :)

I stealth vape all over the place. Airports and even on the plane. In a situation like the airport its a must do. At a restaurant I really try not to since it would offend people who think I'm either doing drugs or something. I can usually wait to go outside. To be honest after a year of vaping I don't get the quick freak out I need a cig feeling anymore. When I'm out though I really dont want to have to explain what im doing to people and then get into a silly debate with them.

My favorite place to vape in public is a casino! Nobody gives it a second glance. Plus when your sitting right next to someone playing cards and your vaping a wonderful flavor they aren't bothered at all.

Vaping in public is not nearly as rude as this post is. People have different opinions, but a civilized debate without name calling is much more productive than posts like this.

I viewed my success in Walmart as a positive experience for all vapers, and I wanted to share that experience with my ECF family. It wasn't my intention to ignite a debate, however I must agree that name calling is entirely unnecessary.

Peace to all of my vaping brothers and sisters. :)

Thanks for sharing. I vape in public a lot - and generally have permission. At Wal Mart, I worked nights next door for years, and so I know many of the employees... No one has said "boo" to me.

I stealth vaped in Denny's not too long ago, we had a table in the corner out of view from the counter, and nobody was sitting next to us. I took several pulls off of my PV, holding it in each time so my exhale was not so visible. I'm disabled so it was nice not to have to get up and go outside for my nic fix.

I even stealth vaped in a hospital emergency room. I was nervous! lol... me and my wife were behind the curtain so we had a little privacy, and I was able to vape quite a bit before the Dr. came in... I know, I'm a bad guy lol

The only time I was annoyed by someone using their cell phone in public is when this one chick was screaming at her boyfriend over the phone in the line at the bus station. I couldn't get out of line or I would get a crummy seat on the bus so we all had to stand there and hear this crazy lady screaming at her bf over the phone until one of the bus station employees finally took care of it. Other than that, cell phone usage or vaping never bothers me where ever someone is doing it. I'm really easy going, it's takes a lot to annoy me lol :)

@ Waiting -- That's when it's really handy to have a mod that looks nothing like a cig :). I don't think anyone approaches me because they have no idea what I've got.

Speaking of folks being annoying with cell phones, did ya'll see the woman on the news that talked loudly on her cell for 16 hours in the quiet car of the train? I'm surprised someone didn't beat her with something before the 16 hours passed.
