This is where I was born and raised, Michigan! Born in Detroit and lived in different parts, mostly south eastern but have been to most places and the lakes are great, Ha, ha and they really are the Great Lakes! The upper peninsula and Canada are beautiful and so are their people! Think of moving back there but have been here in Co for 30 years now and people say what? Why would you want to do that for? I say, for a while, I like Mi! Miss the lakes and the lighthouses!

Also many forests, animals and fish too! Along with many outdoor activities!

Like that song SD... only Kid Rock I heard was the "overplayed/hyped" songs... liked 'em but burnt out quick - this is actually good. My grandmother lived somewhere outside Detroit when I was a kid ('round about 5 or 6) and one summer my mom packed me and my brother to stay there for the summer - guess she needed a break . We drove with grandparents, from Berkeley... to wherever it was (the only thing I vaguely recall of the drive was the Great salt Lake). In MI, at the house, I recall several things: we saved table scraps and walked to the edge of the woods to dump them for the wild pigs/hogs (never saw them but heard them); the grass-hoppers hit you in the chest with force; silk-worms were just freaky levitating things under trees to a 5-year-old; flies seemed enormous, and lightning storms hit really close to home. I also remember walking through the woods, seeing deer, getting punched by said grass-hoppers, getting to a lake (probably a pond by MI standards), and my brother and I just loving it there... we actually took our first airplane flight back home to CA - it was a good summer :)

Yeah really, Michigan is really a nice place and they have mosquitoes that can carry you away! When I was a little kid we were outside all summer, no shirt and just shorts and i would be full of blood from head to toe from scratching mosquitoe bites till I'd be bleeding all over and then at night my mom would put on some lotion after I took a bath and that would help the itching and it's all what you get used too, no matter where you're at! ANd we never heard about west nile virus or any other deseases and we swam in poluted waters and never hardly got sick. It's like George Carlin says, it strengthens your imune system, he says and they swam in raw sewage!

Ha... what has happened? I used to be barefoot all-summer long, getting honeybee stings, picking up bumble bees, trekking miles to the pier to go fishing with stick and line (actually "caught" a small leopard shark that got got away), going crabbing in the bay, building shanty rafts to use in the creek, and building an awesome (by our standards at the time) tree-house under an old willow tree. Bites and stings be damned :)

Hey SD... just listening to that KR song again... how's life treating you?

Yeah I saw KR along with Ted Nugent and Metallica at the Pontiac Silverdome in Michigan! I took my son's there for the millenium concert, New Years '99 into 2000, it was a blast, have seen Ted many times in Mi, never saw Metallica or KR before and it was wild! Didn't think I'd like the Kid but loved him and think he put on the best show! AND life is life, just like my Plumber buddies would say, it's all going down hill and the inspector would say, it's all good!

This was from our side of the bay...

Nice song, always liked those guys too and love that song!:)

I know the Bay area, too. Lived in Martinez, commuted by BART to the city, walked to my office building on California Street right next to Chinatown until the office was moved to Walnut Creek (CEO lived in Walnut Creek, what a surprise.......).

I've moved a lot; kids always accused me of not being able to hold a job.

Hallelujah! Red pin is Coors and La Orilla... park at the purple pin and walk east ;)

Perfect! It clicked, know the church you mentioned. Thank you very much for the map, and thank you for the Hallelujuh!

And.......good morning, afternoon, or evening to all depending on when you get here! It is Monday after all...........
