Trying to sell a customer something? Awesome! Refer him to your local vape shop and meetups. Perfect win/win.

You will never make a good leader if you can't learn to follow. If you can't honor the rules set in place by those over you (whether you agree with them or not), how could you ever expect anyone to honor your authority and decisions? .

If a manager ever did that to me there would be a problem.I would take it as a act of aggression and defend myself with physical force. No manager in the world can cuss at you or get violent in any way.
While yes a workplace can make any rule they want they have to prove it first so don't let him see you do it.
