Ya-But, You guys ran the brig. Not that I would know anything about that. ;) North Island for boot and North Island as part of a drone squadron the only ship duty I ever saw was as radioman aboard the Admirals fishing boat. That sucker had to be shipshape and blindingly polished or there was He!! to pay.
:offtopic:

Well finally got my magnetic stirrer for my e-juice going. Let me tell you if you ever run into a 4 wire fan you are in for a treat. I spent about four hours before I could find anything that hinted at the pin-out.
Video or it didn't happen :)

4 wires? I saw hundreds of fans but mostly with only two or three wires. Can't recall 4 wires. The 3 wire kind, give rpm feedback

Tony

"Video or it didn't happen" Some people are so pushy. :D

With four wires you get eggroll... actually PWM speed control. It is something that Intel cooked up don't know if it ever got popular or not.

Cool. Have to keep an eye on fans like that.

Hmmmm... Now that I think of it... Those two wires don't happen to be yellow and green in color? I have a memory of seeing a fan with a green wire but I never checked how many wires it had total... This must have been years ago but I had a weird flashback when you mentioned 4 wires and I can definitely recall a fan with a green wire...

Well I spent about an hour the other day in Walmart trying to find the Brasso. I wanted it to make the battery caps shinny again.

You can also use a product called: Bar Keepers Friend

It's a stainless steel, copper, brass and other metal polish (not aluminum though). It's very inexpensive... about $2.00 a 12 oz. can. Price varies greatly for some strange reason. Walmart has it, HEB in Texas, Bed, Bath & Beyond.

Works wonders on other stuff too, like Corian and fiberglass surfaces. Removes rust stains from porcelain.

Since it's a multi-use most wives will not mind having it around.

In addition; an excellent product for improving battery post and connector conductivity is: DeoxIT.
Only use it on battery terminals, battery holder contacts, switches but not on 510 connections.

There is a small kit for $4.95 that will last a very long time. This stuff works wonders with corroded electrical connections.

From the website:
All battery terminals/connections over time deteriorate from oxidization and corrosion, causing reduced performance and eventually total failure. DeoxIT® cleans, rejuvenates and protects ALL electrical connections. Using DeoxIT® results in brighter lights, extended battery life, improved sound & video quality and faster and reliable data.

Nibiru,

I have seen that stuff before a long time ago. As I remember it cleans about anything.

Not my finest hours on the internet, sometimes you forget these things never go away.

Tpat,

Welcome to my world between bad posts and emails that should never have been sent... it can be a ruff world. Heck even scribbles in a cave fade with time but the Internet is eternal.

Lets hope the training curve is complete by now and this new batch has no issues.!

Yup! Fingers crossed. Hopefully the issues are not as widespread as it may look from forum feedback but I guess we will see. Now the long wait but at least I can use the tracking to see how slowly it isn't moving....!!

So Holman's sis must be producing an acid equivalent to that to tint her finger.

OK - I emailed my sister but it is very close to Martini time so I may not get an answer today.

Tony,

Just to see how much off topic I can get away with my sister answered me today and YES even 18k gold will turn her fingers black. But she did say it doesn't always happen sometimes it does and sometimes it doesn't.

Again I sure if it was 24k gold it wouldn't happen but then I have never seen jewelry made of 24k so we will have to spend the rest of our live never knowing.

Actually 24k is common for jewelry around here. Hardly ever seen 18k... My wedding ring is 24k

No way would I ever wear a 24k gold ring, it would be way too soft, and bend and distort, my first weding band was 18k and would bend easly, went to 10k, lost it, then finally went with sterling silver, cheaper, stronger, and looks better with my darker skin tone.

Tony,

That is bizarre, 24k is pure gold it is Sooo soft and subject to wear. Also it is a bear to work with molten 24k gold has an incredible amount of surface tension. When I had to make Gold gaskets from 18 AWG or 12 AWG 24k wire trying to fuse the ends together to form a circular gasket was like a Houdini trick. There must be about 2 degrees between the plastic state and completely molten state. Once the gold goes molten the surface tension INSTANLY pulls the cold into a droplet that is as tall as it is wide. The description of the droplet is another one of my definitions that I don't seem to have the words to describe. Anyway the trick to welding gold is to have the two ends perfectly butted together and roll the dice with you torch and pray it joins one end to the other and not pull back into a puddle on one end or both.

That said I am not a Jeweler of course and I am sure that someone that has done it for years doesn't experience the problems I did. Also I have heard in some places solid gold jewelry is their version of a savings account. Which sounds pretty good until someone makes a withdrawal and takes your finger with it.

PS - I wear a ring that belonged to my great grandfather and I took it into a jeweler to have it cleaned and the diamonds reset. The jeweler notice it was 18k and asked me if it was from Europe because even 18k in not all that common in jewelry here. Also he told me that a lot of gold from pre WWII that came from the Europe was a very high purity but it was the only way to get the family wealth out of Europe. :2c:
