So sorry to hear this. Under what circumstances did it die? Chain vaping, high power, low power?

I was changing atomizers and the one I was putting on had a shorter 510 pin so I got the expected "check atomizer", cranked the mods 510 out half a turn and never even lit the display after that.

Hmm, dead short inside maybe. Worth taking a look inside for sure.

Also, just made a somewhat happy discovery. The removable center section of a Varitube low profile 510 spring loaded connector almost, almost fits perfectly inside the main 510 assembly of the Kangxin flask. It's just ever so much smaller in diameter than the Kangxin center section, so it doesn't securely thread up. We're talking just a tiny fraction of a millimeter difference here, it's that close.

It could work with a bit of epoxy or maybe even some thread tape though.

That gives you a spring loaded pin, retains the short depth of the stock 510, and there's no issues with external fitment.

Maybe a bad solder joint that popped off the 510. I would think if that was the case though, you would still have a display. Glad that 3F is taking care of you. Wished I would have ordered from them, but they have been out of stock on the flask for a number of days now. Ordered mine from Focalecig. It has been in preship mode for going on a week.

Croak said the USB is a balanced dual battery type. I would think that would mean batteries are connected to the USB charger which in turn balances battery charge levels and in turn feeds the board with power, is that incorrect Croak?

If that is the way it is connected, try USB charging & see if it will light up the screen(no atty) in passthru mode?

Thought you said the wires were soldered to the screws?

They are, but they can stand a little abuse, they soldered the heck out of the wires, at least on mine.

The main board relies on battery power to work, it doesn't draw power directly from the USB board (it's not a real pass-through for that reason, and the lowly 0.5a output wouldn't do you much good anyway).

Thought it Might be enough to light the display with the atty off & Might indicate if it's in the USB board or the chip at least without disassembly was my thinking.

Anything on that USB board resembling a fuse designed to protect the unit from a single battery reverse polarity?

3FVape got back with me, they're letting me upgrade my replacement Kangxin model 1660 to either a 2806 or 2834 Sunlay, (I told them to surprise me on the color). Cost me $2.00. And since I got the 5% introductory discount on my original 1660, I'm only in for a total of $73.24.

Figure what the hell at this point, even if it doesn't work, or work as well as the Kangxin model I'm in the same place I am now, but with two nice housings. But like I said earlier, I'm pretty sure 3FVape told the truth when they said the Kangxin and the Sunlay used the same board. Pretty sure, but not certain.

I'm a little confused. Are you replacing a Kangxin-made unit or a Wadea-Time unit? Some of these replicas are getting confusing.

I now have three of these. The first non-USB version was only using one battery. A replacement was sent and works as expected. I bought a USB version and it performed amazingly for a long time. Two days ago it stopped firing. I re-installed the batteries and it had no impact. I removed the top cover and noted juice build up which I removed. Upon reassembly, it works as expected. I don't know what I changed, but I think there could be a connection issue. Regardless, I still love them and the price is amazing. I expect a few bugs as these are brand new.

Ordered 1 silver VF v3 at Focal yesterday (status now=collecting item) after reading all the good reviews and info from here, just get so curious about the TC I want to experience it by myself (also I just wanted something new ;)). So for 66euro i give it a try.

I cancelled my order at FC found a dutch website (http://www.rookesigaret.nl/e-sigare...vapor-flask-dna40/vapor-flask-v3-dna40-clone/) wich offers a VF v3 clone with a build in genuine DNA40 chip from Evolv for € 92,99 and can deliver it tomorrow so i choose for this one.
