Its not a TC device! Look at the voltage output for a start - 4-11v. No step-down. Wont work. No mention of TC anyway.

Angelfiremods in UK had some of these I think and I pointed this out to them. They replied that it was a typo but I don't think so. They are now selling them with authentic DNA40 boards that they have put in I think...

It's advertised as having TC though, even if the voltage region of 4-11 is weird.

@Lenon To me, it appears to be the same chip at first glance, but I don't think it is. On the Waidea, it does not say KX-40D when it starts up, it says Evolv dna 40. I know that's no indicator of anything, I'm just listing it as a difference.

whoops you are right. Its clearly different to the waidea and Kangxin versions just from the 510 which looks like an adjustable stainless steel unit. I guess the voltage out must be a mistake. The max voltage of 11.5 is weird. There is some discussion of it on the FT page now!

Got my ni200 today but they send me kanthal so i have to wait again for the ni200

One thing I notice with the Waidea VF, when I press the fire button there is a very short delay (like you said) but after the short delay when the screen lights up the screen blinks 2 times very fast, after those 2 blinks and still pressing the fire button the screen stays normal.
Anyone seen this before? maybe @lenon? little bit annoying that blinking.

Yeah, it flickers twice when brightening the screen. Doesn't flicker as much as the small screen authentic though. The big screen authentic is awesome though. That's the only thing I miss about my Vaporshark rDNA.

You are correct sir. It does just say DNA 40. No Evolv anywhere. Well spotted.

So, aside from the flicker, are you as happy with yours as I am with mine? It does appear to have some sort of refinement, but it's not nearly as bad as the authentic DNA 40. In 2+ days of using mine, I've only had to pop the atty off one time due to refinement issues. This thing really is a top notch clone.

I'm hoping the board in the Waidea that I get is okay - I'm so sick and tired of the genuine Evolv board that I'm using, it's glitchy to the point that I want to rip it out of my mod and trample it.

Yes I'm very happy with it, amazing look and feel and like you said the long battery life, tomorrow I get some ni200 so for now I only used it in normal mode without any complains.
I was a little afraid there was something wrong with the fire button, with the flickers on the screen and the 2 stage fire button switch I thought oh boy you have to send it back but lucky to hear from you it's normal.
It's really a beauty!

Fear not Anson, I've had virtually none of the glitchy DNA 40 behavior with mine. No refinement issues, no screen scramble, the battery indicator is accurate, and the wattage and TP seem spot on.

I really want to open mine up and see what the inside looks like, and check on replacing the center pin, but I'm just too happy with it atm. I would have to hate to wait another 2-3 weeks to get a replacement from China.

Edit: Btw, I sold my Kangxin flask. There was no reason to keep it around when I have the Waidea.

lenon, could you confirm that's the same one you have? Or very similar anyway?

I'm pretty stoked hearing your review of it - I bought it thinking it was the same as the ones being reviewed on Youtube, which I think are the Kangxin ones, so if it could be even better than that, that's awesome.

Second question - are you saying it took 2-3 weeks to arrive from 3FVape, for you? Was that with the fastest shipping option?

I was resigned to it taking at least two weeks, but of course I now desperately hope it could be faster! I paid an extra $3 for the fastest delivery - "UK ePacket Express by China Post" - which I think said 2 - 5 days. But of course that's after they actually ship it, and they don't say how long that will take (it's not on their "24 hour ship" list, so definitely a few days I suppose.)

I will of course update you guys when I get mine, to (hopefully) confirm it's the same as lenon's!

Edit: One more quick question to lenon - have you tried the Waidea with various different batteries? The genuine VF 2.1 is only meant to be used with the VTC 3, 4, 5 and the LG HE, and some YT reviewers report that many other batteries literally won't fit.

A clone will likely be different, but as you said the Waidea is the closest to 1:1 yet seen, it's possible that they have a similarly snug battery compartment.

Would be great if you were able to confirm which batteries you know fit in it. Thanks!

The only batteries I've used in it are the Efest 20 amp 3100 mAH batteries. They are an *extremely* snug fit. I almost didn't get the original ones out. Make sure you pull off any stickers that on the batteries before you put them in.

Edit: I meant to mention, that these EFest batteries are actually rewrapped LG HE2s, so, I guess I'm using recommended batteries. I just use them becauese...3100 mAh!

Did you have to pay any customs duty on import? I was worried about that. (Not that your experience is necessarily any gauge for mine, as you're US and I'm UK.)

They say they mark it as low value gift, but I'm sure the customs guys see that every day and must be wise to it.

I suppose it's probably a matter of luck - they probably don't open/check closely every item, just a random %.

OK good to know, thanks. The fact that they're so snug that you have to remove labels matches exactly what Richard Ng said on Youtube about his genuine VF 2.1. So that again suggests that the Waidea is 1:1 or very close to it - of course in this particular case, that's not a great thing; it'd be nice if it would fit a wider range of batteries!

Oh well, I shall see when mine arrives! I've ordered some VTC 4s already, but I'd like to try it with some others eventually.

The Efest 2500 mah batteries are LG HE2's but the 3100's are not they probably are Panasonic NCR18650A or NCR18650PF. I'm pretty sure they are the 2900's even though the mah doesn't quite match.

Alright, I'm out from hiding, after drunkenly starting that full out riot. Sorry guys! Lets hug and sing koom-ba-ya!

Anywayz, I got the silver Waidea/Sunlay/who da fekk knows flask, and I gotta say all is on the up and up. All features are present. Stealth mode, left/ right mode, and temp mode. Finish looks the ....! Ordered from 3F on 3/14 and all went smooth. About a 1 second delay to ramp up. Will try temp mode with nickel in the next few days. Everything looks just like the pics that Summer sent Tpat. Subtank mini screws down with about a millimeter or two gap to the fixed pin. Screen shows DNA 40 after waking up from deep sleep. Screw caps screw in flush and parallel. Using married 2500 efest. Hits like a champ and very satisfied.

Sorry to hear about the deceased flasks. Will be handling mine with kid gloves with all the bad news. That's all for my first impressions.

Where's the beautiful Nikkita6 at? A week or two ago she destroyed some haters on fasttech. It was awesome!

My "new" Evolv DNA40 and a couple tactile switches have shipped, looks like I might have something good to post about come Thursday. Still kicking aroud the idea of a bottom feeder Flask though.
