Ok called them again.....they apologized for giving wrong information but they are coming out with new skins a week to two weeks after the first shipment of devices....according to what I was told on the phone just now the first five hundred devices should arrive to them on the 30th and will ship out during the first week of November.

Oh and the old skins do fit...but are snug.

I did not ask about the second wave. Still considering whether to cancel my order or not....I guess I have a week to decide....if it does not arrive in the first batch, I will likely cancel the order since I am already on the fence....decisions, decisions....sigh.

(sent from Mars, it's not as red as I imagined.)

So I was stalking the vaporshark facebook page. Read a comment from someone who complained about the paint coming off the mod. VS replied that if juice gets in between the mod and the skin, that will cause paint to come off.

Anyone have that experience? I find that mildly Strange. I don't really care since I beat up all my mods but that's still interesting.

Wonder if they'll let us return the sharkskin for the proper rDNA 40 ones though. That, I'm interested to know

So, first it was the 28th, then it was the 30th, and now it is the first week of November. My first impression of VS is not a good one.

same here if i don't get mine in the first shipment, i will cancel my order as well....i preordered as soon as it was up....my modestly priced istick that i bought on a whim and a backup has exceded my expectations...

Mine too Cappy!!!...not the fanciest thing on Earth but it works surprisingly well...as does the ProtoVapor XPV DNA40-D that arrived on time, 6 days after ordering it.

...

If a juice is slightly alkaline or acidic having it trapped between the skin and the paint will definitely make the paint come off. Doing high quality aluminum anodizing, Cerakote or a deposition process like ZenKote that would be much more resistant to alkalis and acids but would add significant cost.

I looked into them and didn't like how long they were. Very nice looking mod though. Looks like it's built well too.

Form factor is a consideration for sure...but I am a lady with little lady hands and it is not huge...about the size of a Provari mini with an extender cap...we are talking 18490 battery length...my Android smart phone is taller...Droid RAZR Maxx

Don't worry, they are very consistently average. I was very happy with my rDNA30 until I blew it up. Once you've got the hardware in your hands you'll be very happy.

Sounds like poor paint job to me.

I don't care about the paint as long as the mod is solid. You can always sand off all the paint for a nice look if you want to.

A non-user replaceable battery unless one solders. No thanks.

Yeah see that does not bother me either...You don't have to solder to replace it...you have to have a wrapped battery which you snap into the connector, which Protovapor sells and I have an extra of...the intent is to charge USB and only replace the battery when it is totally dead....I am not married to the idea of removing the battery to charge it, I am fine with USB charging.

Not trying to convince you, just saying that does not harsh my mellow one iota and while I do have a soldering iron, I won't be using it on the XPV.

I like compact, especially after using my Istick for the last 3 weeks. Much better than my MVP2 as far as size and vape quality. Soldering batteries doesn't bother me. Many year ago, I used to race R/C cars so I would buy a box of batteries, test each cell and make my own matched battery packs. I prefer box mods over long, thin mods.

I do think they look great though.
