Is it possible to fit a Fatdaddy on there when the current 510 fails?

I don't get it. A FDV 510 costs $10. I would gladly pay that to get a solid 510. Hell, I would pay $20.

U can but it'll sit on top of the box... The inside space is very tight

The FDV 510 is about the same size as the VT 510 so I don't see why not but I've only seen the internals online so I can't really say. I already have a few VT 510 connectors.

Not sure on the connector on the rDNA, but on the dna boxes it's easy to change. Now if someone just made one out of SS!

As a side note, with VS sending out 3000 rDNA40 over the past week, and us seeing them in more hands... I have yet to hear of a single one coming with a bad board. Maybe the known the bad run of DNA40 boards were behind some of the delays.

If so, I'm glad my order was delayed by 10 days... I'd rather have it right the first time than have to deal with the RMA process.

Lol looks like I opened a can of worms. Hahaha. I wouldn't replace anything until after the warranty expires tho!

Trust me from a guy who has opened the case a million times... It's a custom part very hard to replace... And if you do replace it with a fat daddy, the base will sit on top of the mod

Hahahaha I'm the least handy guy around so I won't ever ever be doing that unfortunately. Probably end up paying some modder to help me with that if I choose to. In the mean time I'm taking really good care of it.

Both VT and FDV are SS.

VS got the same boards as everyone else. I think the design of the rDNA (and XPV) is more solid and I don't think we'll be seeing the same issues as some others. Biggest difference is that the rDNA and XPV doesn't use the case as a common ground.

Either way, it's still to early to say. The rDNA has been in the wild for 3 days now? It does look promising though.

Replace it with what- the same thing?

Yep. $25 for dianostics and $8 for the 510 connector.

I just picked some up for my build and they are nice. Very low profile.

I got a few for future upgrades :D.

Bah! That said, I'll probably replace it when it needs it rather than do it as soon as I get it.

I might be able to help you out if you need. I'll have to do mine first to see what needs to be done (drill out the hole?). Just pay for shipping

I just received my Vapor Shark rDNA40. Does anybody know if this device stops the battery from being fully depleted like the Provari mini? The Provari button flashes and doesn't let you fire.

When the battery is depleted enough so that it no longer able to supply the amount of power to deliver the watts you have chosen the first thing the DNA 40 chip will do is to step down the watts rather than refusing to fire. However, the chip will not allow firing when it starts to draw 2.75 volts to protect the battery from over discharge. At 52:45 in his interview with Phil Busardo Brandon talks about how soft limiting works in the DNA 40 regarding a low battery. Phil calls it the "get you home" feature.

DNA 40 datasheet
Weak Battery: The battery needs to be charged, or a higher rate battery needs to be used. If this happens, the DNA 40 will continue to fire the atomizer, but will not be able to provide the desired wattage. The Weak Battery message will continue to flash for a few seconds after the end of puff.

Then it did it again on my drive home.

That's why we have backups right?

Called customer service and was emailed a return shipping label. He said they'd ship me a new one as soon as my old one is recieved, not that I'll believe anything they tell me ever again after they lied to me twice about shipping dates and the shark skin for the rDNA40. At least I do know they have super fast turnaround on repairs from my dna30 problem.

I've heard claims of evolv saying they have a 1% board failure rate, that must be before release of the dna40. This is my second bad dna40 board. One bad vaporflask and now the VS.

Size comparison shots.
