Battery meter is not consistent. I am using it for the last week and it never shows the correct amount.
I got my rDNA 40 yesterday (ordered on Oct 21 with the optional wireless charging base). It's a nifty little device and I think the temperature limiting will be a major asset but I have noticed some weird things that I thought I'd bring up. Maybe some of you guys would be able to offer some insight.
The first problem I've noticed is that the screen will occasionally lock up. It fires but it doesn't show a temp or wattage. I also can't get it to lock (or it just doesn't show it, more on that in a minute). The only solution is to pull the battery and restart it until it puts up a fit again. I understand that this is an issue with some of these but it sucks that it couldn't have been caught before sending it out (especially after waiting two extra weeks for the delays). I'll be getting in touch with them tomorrow to arrange an RMA. I'm not sure if this is the problem they're talking about but something is up.
Another oddity is that unlocking the device is wildly inconsistent. I have to nail the cadence or else it won't register and I have to redo it. The screen flashing on and off in the process makes it seem unpolished.
Then there is the issue of temperature protection. I've got a Plume Veil built (single coil, 30 gauge nickel wire, shows up as about 0.25 ohms). When I take a pull from it at 30 watts, I immediately get temperature limited and it never goes above about 10 watts. I've pumped the temp limit even higher and it still gets crippled. This is probably typical behavior but I expected to get more time out of a wide open RDA with freshly wet wicks. I'd love to find out that this is happening because of my build or a faulty board because it is underwhelming with drippers in a big way.
Finally, I am concerned about the wireless charging system. I put the box on the base for about an hour and, when I went to pick it up, it was hot. The case was hot, the battery was hot, and the charging plate was hot. I'm afraid to use it until I find out if this is normal.
The limiting is great, no dry hits to report over here, but something seems off with my particular unit. I'll be trying to address these issues with Vaporshark because, at the very least, I think my display is wonky. If the replacement/repaired unit is improved, this will easily be my favorite device.
I hope you guys have better luck. If any of you have yours and can comment on these things, I'd love to hear it. I wouldn't be surprised if some of them are just a result of the temp limiting functionality but I can't tell for sure until more people get them in their hands. For RTAs, it's pretty rad (but dry hits weren't a common thing for me with tanks anyway).

I figured just as much. It sucks knowing that it'll be another couple of weeks before I finally have a properly functioning device, especially after waiting so long for the pre-order. But whatever, at least there is hope. It will be worth it to have a reliable box with great features.
There is a silver lining. I ditched the Plume Veil (it is a pretty terrible clone and the top cap doesn't even fit properly anymore for some reason) and built my Tugboat v1 with a single coil at about 0.26 and it works very well at 40 watts. Way better than the Plume Veil did at any temp/wattage setting. It's going to be a fantastic piece of equipment once I get it repaired. I really like how it performs but the screen is screwing up at an accelerated rate now. I had to pull the battery five or six times in the fifteen minutes after building the Tugboat.
I'm also getting used to the locking/unlocking cadence but that wasn't really a big deal in the first place.
It's going to be tough to part with it but it'll be going out early this week, hopefully.

Beautiful little thing and it is working well with a 0.15 ohm 12 wrap (I think) 28# 3-ish mm ID Ni200 coil on a Veritas atty,single coil.
I only just received it but I am so far very happy with its performance.

I had my Hana for about 3weeks. Noticed the temp issues/screen glitch at the end of the first week. By the 2nd week it got worse. I would send it back to vaporshark ASAP.
Hope you get a fully functioning 40 back soon. The TP is indeed an asset.
As for the wireless charge, double shame you are going to have to wait to have it teach you its ways.
It is like a dance (or sex) partner that's always got to have its own way.Thought of physically marking either or both (with tape or something) to get proper alignment, which for several days has been very, very, tricky. Finally I conceded: The charger knows best. Now, I can fairly regularly align device and charger on the first attempt.

I don't have many positive things to say about vaporshark after their issues over the past year, pre order delays and battery gate, but one thing they have gotten right is the RMA process. My only experience returning a device was with the vaporshark dna30, and it was quick and painless. I called about the device no longer charging and some residue around the charging port. They sent me a return shipping label that Monday, I sent it back that same day, and recieved my repaired dna30 that Friday.
My rDNA40 goes back today. Hopefully I get it back by Friday again.
On my rDNA 40 the chip actively reads the battery level depending on your wattage. For example, if it reads a quarter batter left at 40w it will go back up if I drop it down to 30w. But if yours consistently reads a quarter left even after a full charge and you let it go back to sleep them something may be wrong.

Mine is shipping out today as well. Fingers crossed it's not a lemon. I wonder what kind of warranty VS is getting from Evolve with regards to chips being faulty.
mine shipped the other day and, I really hope it's not a lemon it will be a pain returning it as i'm in Canada! turn around would more than likely be 2 to 3 weeks

The battery came fully charged and I'm blowing clouds. I wish they would have used a stronger magnet but that's really my only gripe. Right now I'm vaping on a kanthal coil. I haven't gotten around to the tempreture control thingy yet.
