VaporShark rDNA

Just received my rdna 40. Set up my SOD 5k with a single nickel coil coming out to .17. Really enjoying trying to find my sweet spot for this dripper. So far it's temp at 510 at 26 watts for a great hot vape.. I was hoping I could drain the cotton dry at this setting but my vape gets too cool before I have to re-drip. Glad I waited for this one!

My precious is finally here ... shown below on a Nexus charging pad being watched by it's older brother. I still love how the charging light comes on around the fire button, even when charging wirelessly.

I know this thread has evolved into an rDNA40 thread...but I just received my rDNA30 yesterday and I'm impressed. This is my first Evolv mod and form and function are great. I've had the MVP, VTR, and the Hana clone. This blows them all away. The size is perfect. There's no way I could justify purchasing a real Hana for the price they want. The price drop on the VS 30 was too hard to resist. If the Hana clone is true to size of the real thing, I'm liking the VS much more...gotta love the size and finish. Very compact for an 18650 mod.

Yeah floyd the KFL+ are my fav tanks. I went REO over a year ago and my KFL's weren't getting much use until I got the VS40. This setup is awesome!! Same build, same flavor for almost a week is unheard of from me.

I'm in Erie and have been plowing a sh_tload of snow the last couple of days. Any snow in Buffalo??

Totally jinxed me bro... now we have like 4-5 feet of snow and it's not stopping. This all happened overnight. 2 miles away from me people can see grass lol.

Sorry floyd!!!

We were supposed to get pounded too but the front stayed a couple miles out in the lake and straight to Buffalo. I got up at 4am to start plowing but had no new snow so back to bed I went. I got back up at 6 and turned on the news and saw you guys getting pounded. First thing I thought was thank God we didn't get it and second thing I thought was poor floyd!!

The majority of my customers are seasonal contracts so I don't care if it snows or not.

Hehe, it's all good, snow is still coming down in force, getting like 5-6 inches and hour. No work today or tomorrow, not entirely sure how I'm gonna get out of this to be honest. Snow is up to my neck, snowblower won't start and it would be futile anyway, and I certainly can't shovel this mess. I guess I'll just stay inside till it all melts lol, maybe in the spring. I'm just staying in and vaping and watching hockey :) Unfortunately my VS is supposed to be here Thursday. I think that will not be happening.

Last night I decided to remove the "New AW IMR 18650 battery when I've seen the weak battery flashing on the screen while I was trying to build nickel coils running on my rDNA 40 on temp control. So when I woke up this morning at 6:30am, it was still charging on "Low" on the Nitecore charger. The time on it, "7 hours"! No way! When I had my Provari mini, the blue light flashes and you could not fire it. Does anyone know what's going on? When I take out the battery from the mini, it only takes about 2-3 hours to complete the charge but 7 hours in the VS sounds odd. Anyone know what voltage this VS stops you from firing it or will it discharge completely and then shut off therefore ruining your 18650?

Not sure why it would take that long to charge but I know the VS shuts down around 3.2v

The DNA 40 should stop firing at 2.75 volts according to Brandon in his interview with Phil Busardo. At 52:45 he discusses how the DNA 40 uses soft limiting when the battery can no longer produce the power that the user has chosen but before it shuts down. Phil calls it the "get you home" feature.

The DNA 40 datasheet explains soft limiting when you get a Weak Battery message on the screen.
Weak Battery: The battery needs to be charged, or a higher rate battery needs to be used. If this happens, the DNA 40 will continue to fire the atomizer, but will not be able to provide the desired wattage. The Weak Battery message will continue to flash for a few seconds after the end of puff.

Looks cool Strike.
I am waiting for the VS40 to come in stock in the UK and then I will be shouting one up.
It will be my first regulated device. :)

I have a copper Quasar waiting for a home.

I don't have many positive things to say about vaporshark after their issues over the past year, pre order delays and battery gate, but one thing they have gotten right is the RMA process. My only experience returning a device was with the vaporshark dna30, and it was quick and painless. I called about the device no longer charging and some residue around the charging port. They sent me a return shipping label that Monday, I sent it back that same day, and recieved my repaired dna30 that Friday.

My rDNA40 goes back today. Hopefully I get it back by Friday again.

I got my label today so I sent it out. It took a couple of days to process the request (I emailed them late on Sunday night and got the label on Wednesday morning) but it is definitely a reasonable process. He said that a new one would be sent when mine is delivered. Hopefully it is handled quickly. Overall, I'm happy with the service. It's unfortunate that they've lost trust from some people. This is my first dealing with them so hopefully they give me no reason to regret buying their product.

Excellent, thanks for the resource. I asked about this in my email to them and Mike said it was normal. It makes sense and I expected some warmth but the amount of heat was surprising. I've always got a bit of paranoia regarding battery safety so I figured it best to ask than to ignore it until it potentially became a problem. I'm glad to have that off of my mind. It's a nice little feature, that's for sure.
