how 'spaced' are you guys referring to? I use a Coil Master so the wraps are always touching but I can easily space them out.... Are we talking spaced 1 wrap apart (if that makes sense) or more like 2-3 wraps apart? I'll search for a picture in this thread unless someone has a pic they wanna post... I found some examples thanks guys!

Are rDNA users all over the map between RTA and RDA? or is there one that is more prominent than the other? I started with KF4s but after building on mutations I've bought 4 more RDAs just because I have more room to build, I'm usually vaping in my room studyin anyways so the dripping doesn't bother me.

I got the 26g bc I heard how malleable Ni200 is, I'll order some 28g today. Thanks for the wrap setup details KTM!

As long as the coils don't touch, you'll be fine.

I have a few drippers but prefer RBA's. I have KF4 clones on all my VS mods and cloupor mini. Once I get my DNA40 mods built, I'll dedicate one for a dripper.

Spaced Coils: A wrap apart is fine. Depends on how much time you wish to spend on your build. Two wraps apart. Three apart. I see no difference in the vape IF and this is a BIG IF I have room on the deck. NONE of the wraps should touch and that might get tricky as you wick your build. My way for all my drippers.

Here is perhaps THE most candid nee HONEST video on the DNA40 board. I'm not sure if it's been mentioned in this thread before so please humor me. Clearly and candidly documents the pluses and minuses of this new technology. Spot on in my view and I was a 10/14 adopter :)

This is the way I do it. Wrap it with big spaces on screwdriver, squeeze it down, let it go. All but one have sprung back perfectly spaced.

I started with 30 ga, but I continually ruined the coil when trying to wick it. I stepped up to 28 ga wire and that solved my wicking problems.

I LOVE this rDNA, everything tastes better, I think the Sig 100W+ makes bigger clouds but I'm looking for flavor, and the VS doesn't feel like I'm hold two packs of cigs full of lead, I had no idea how small the VS was, I LOVE IT!

So yesterday was my one year vapaversary. Thought I'd reward myself with a new mod, but do you know I couldn't think of anything I'd rather have than my rDNAs (I have three), so didn't get anything! So here I am just chilling ...

Yes, I agree. I don't even know why they make the smaller VS DNA 40 version. I would like to see them up the game with a dual battery rDNA 40. If they could maintain their compact sizing, a dual battery VS mod would be awesome.

Throw a screen on the top and give the flask a run for its money.

I was thinking that when VS released the mini version. Got it as a back up. But now it makes my rDNA feel huge. Don't get me wrong both are comfortable to hold but the mini VS is more pocket friendly. Both last me just over a day so no need to change batteries. But with a 1 1/2 hr charge time that really doesn't matter. don't get me wrong I love them both and wouldn't give up either one. Though no screen glitches with the mini shark like I get with the full size one has been a bonus.

I see alot of people rocking the shark skin sleeves. Are they worth the 10$? I'm debating on getting one for myself on my birthday :)

Personally, I really like mine. I have to rDNA40s and have a black sharkskin on one, and a orange on the other. My main reasons for getting them was protection, but frankly, I've found that I actually prefer the feel of the mod with the slight bit of added size the sharkskin offers. I do have large hands though, so perhaps that's just me.

I did try going "naked" a little, but in the end I found the mod slightly slippery.

As a side note, I like the different colors as it's easier to tell which mod I'm grabbing in the morning!

My desire for a dual battery unit is zero YMMV.

I'm sure many feel that way. There are also those who insist on dual batteries. Those people are forced to look elsewhere. How many Hana & Flask owners would consider a VS dual battery if it was available? I would likely buy one. I probably would have purchased a Flask if it wasn't $110 more than the rDNA. My rDNA lasts just over a day before it shows weak battery. I am sure that will decrease as the battery starts to show some age. I like big battery capacity. I like having to charge my stuff as little as possible. My smart phone is a Motorola Droid Maxx - 3 days between charges. A dual battery with Zip charging would be great if they managed to keep the size down.

My son-in-law and I both got our VS's at the same time. He took the skin off because he likes to slide it in and out of his pockets a lot. I keep mine on. The finish on his is really worn off. Mine looks like new.

It is a PITA trying to get it into and out of pockets with the skin. So, it's a trade-off.

Also, how often will you want to replace the battery? If you use the on-board port, like me, I hardly ever need to remove the skin to replace the battery. But if you prefer to switch out from an external charger, you'll be taking the skin on and off all the time.

Yeah it's worth it if you want to use it.

I've had the rDNA 40 for a few months now...I recently purchased the iStick 50...the battery in the iStick lasts much longer because of the mAh, but the Vapor Shark has instant combustion with the 40 chip....best on the market in my opinion (for now anyway). I still get a day out of the VS battery at 18-20 watts vaping quite heavily.

The iStick has lag time before combustion with super low resistance coils. The Vapor Shark is my go to mod...I'm going to order another one today. They're simply great dependable mods.

I can understand people wanting a larger battery capacity. But frankly, after holding a flask, I realized that it was significantly larger than the VS. And in my estimation, would be much harder to slide into a pocket. For my uses, the Flask would have been a desk mod - one that sits on my desk and I use while working on the computer or watching TV. (Coincidentally, both places where plugging in to charge isn't an issue).

My pair of VS on the other hand is the perfect size to slide into my pocket and take places. I can get most of a day (if not more) out of a single charge using a Nickel coil at 22.5 watts. And with zip charging, if I plug it in while I eat dinner, it's topped off after dinner. Zip charging really makes a difference (one of my VS doesn't have it, and I really notice the difference!)

In the end, size matters more to me than battery capacity. If I never carry it with me, how much does battery life matter?

I own both...

It's been winter here (as in most of the world). ;) That means overcoats and bundling up.

My rDNA's went into a overcoat pocket for ready access.

The Flask fits VERY comfortably in a front jeans/pant pocket, or, a jacket pocket. You would be surprised how much of a difference the curve in the Flask body makes.

IOW, rDNA at home, Flask for out and about, a complete reversal of my expectation.
