I think it will be. I'm still in the planning phase and waiting on the next dna board to build it around. I can't do much without that.

Oh the bf will definitely be worth the effort!! :) I will be very interested to see what you come up with! The new Evolve is still in beta so it may be awhile before they hit the open market and the general public has access. Really pretty cool from what I've heard:2cool:

I'm really hoping it comes out this winter because that's my slow season for work and it's when I get my car mods and projects done.

Those of you that have gotten a rDNA lately, how long did it take for vs to ship it? I have read people talking about the next day and some talking about a few weeks.

Took about a week for them to ship so count on that I should have mine today sometime because knowing they take forever I opted for the 2 day shipping option so that I did not have to wait another week for it to get there after it shipped. So yes count on a week, from what customer service told me they are still swamped with orders and having a hard time keeping up...

I couldn't stand it anymore, had to get one, but didn't want to wait. So I ordered from an in-state dealer Tuesday, delivered today (Thurs). I got the Gunmetal so not the very latest batch, but I really like the look. Came with a VTC4 but it wasn't connecting - battery contacts looked bent back too far - maybe from banging around in transit? Anyway I pulled the -ve battery connector out a bit and popped in a VTC5 to check it out. Everything good and working, now topping up via USB. Very pleased. I love the form factor and quality feel.

Fairly common with the contacts in shipping. Glad you figured it out easy and are enjoying your vaping.

Where did you get the VTC5?

Here's a pic ... I think the eVic Supreme will be staying home a lot more! The rDNA will be my new out and about device except when things look too hazardous, then I'll take the iStick ...

Where did you get the VTC5?

I switched to VTC5s about 3 months ago when they were more available, so I took this one out an older mod that's going wonky. I also managed to pick up a couple more two weeks ago from ebay from a reputable battery dealer whose price wasn't too crazy, but he's sold out now too. I've put those away for when my current two die. Beware of fakes, I use this link to check them out before and after I buy:

Not having any luck finding VTC5s. What does everyone think about this SAMSUNG INR18650-25R 2500mAh 20A High Drain IMR Rechargeable Li-ion Battery for use in the rDNA?
I use the Samsung INR18650-25R in my Hana/DNA30 mod. It works great.

The DNA30 chip needs a battery capable of 12A continuous discharge. The 25R fits this bill nicely and performs well with the Evolv chip.

Hopefully yours has a vtc4 installed :) IMO I would use it until the 5's are available again;) They will be. The samsung you are referencing is 20A and the vtc5's are 30A.

A 20 amp battery can handle more than the vaporshark can put out. It will be more than enough to safely use.

Good to know there are alternatives to the Sony batts:) Just in case they don't show up for a while ;)

Yeah but...

The vaporshark (or any dna30 based mod) really doesnt need a 30A battery.

The Samsung -25R actually performs on par with the Sony vtc5 when used within its 20A max discharge rating.

I would rather have a legit Samsung for my dna30 mod than a pricey and now often faked sony vtc5.

The 25R is a great alternative to the sony is you are not going to be needing all 30A the Sony can provide.

The dna30 needs much less than 30A at max output. It needs 12A.

Comparison of VTC4, VTC5, LG ICR18650HE2 and Samsung INR18650-25R

Interesting, thanks for sharing. Makes me feel better about my purchase.

I absolutely agree it's overkill. Actually with 30 watts and a mid sub-ohm build you'll pull less than 8 amps. I'm just a fan of the Sonys! :) I've seen what havoc these batteries can cause. Stay with an authentic reputable brand and you should be fine. :vapor:

What batteries are you referring to?
