Or get 2 vtc5s from fasttech for $20 (long ship time but authentic).
The Sony is a hybrid chemistry battery also however.
For $8, the Samsung -25R or LG HE2 is a solid choice.

good morning EVERYONE....well yesterday was NOT a good day for me...First i crashed my $1800 rc quadcopter....then i came into the house and went to change the battery in my vaporshark.....and YES i did it....put the battery in backwards....and SIZZLE!!!....My house STILL stinks of burnt electronics....I called vaporshark customer service who basically told me that i would get a $50 rebate towards a new one if i send mine back....I also asked if a new device was going to be released and i was told yes and most LIKELY before the holidays....So i think i might wait for that and look at other alternatives also....Meanwhile back to my provari mini...So learn from my mistake my friends...If you are upset about something or preoccupied, it is very easy to make this mistake...
When did VS start advertising that the Sony was no longer shipping with the device? I opened the battery door and "what the #$%^ is that?" I have a Sony in it now, but this is mildly irritating.
Disclaimer: The panasonic NCR18650B is an excellent option for the majority of users, however; for builds below .65 ohms we recommend the use of a battery with a higher amp limit, such as the Sony US18650VTC4
Well I just found out how durable (sarcasm) the finish is on the rDNA. I noticed what I thought was a silver speck on the top panel. The only area not covered by the skin. Ended up being a scratch. The only thing I can think is the 510 connector brushed against the top when it was in my carrying case when I was out on the bike. I don't ever keep a topper on any of my mods when on the bike because of the vibration. I assumed the finish was durable. I guess not so much.

Still lots of CS issues with VS. You would think they would have that part figured out by now
I have been in contact with management about my slanted screen, paint issues, and lack of VTC4 (the site clearly stated that a Sony VTC4 would be included at the time that I purchased the device).
They are willing to have me ship the device back (they will pay for shipping), so they can repair the slanted screen, which I am not sure if a week old device should be "repaired" when it arrived in this condition. Also, they tap danced around the lack of a Sony VTC4. The battery life is amazing, but with all of the safety concerns I don't want to use it.
I do have something weird happening with my rDNA. Has anyone had the battery bar show no life one second, but when the device wakes from sleep it has 1/5th or so left? Then goes back and forth between these two battery lifes for hours of vaping?
If I lived in Miami, I would have already filed a suit against them, but unfortunately it would be way too costly where I currently live. Not sure how I am going to proceed.
Yup. I also received a faulty rdna (the fire button would stay on) and felt that I should have received a new unit, but instead took almost 3 weeks to get mine fixed. For a company to use an evolv dna 30 in their product yet include a battery that does not comply with their suggested battery, tells me the level of CS this company now has.
Not doubting the bad CS experiences in here, but my rDNA had the negative power button get stuck. I sent them an email, they replied with a shipping slip and asked me to send it in. They had it back to be in about 10 days including shipping time. I would have preferred a new one, but didn't want to chance getting a replacement with a different issue. Overall im happy with it. They took care of the issue and its been working great since.
The battery thing has been bouncing around in my brain so much I posted my thoughts to their facebook page. We'll see the response.
They deleted your post. Well on the bright side, the new DNA 40 can safely handle these batteries.
Yeah, but we don't have DNA 40's and I wouldn't put that battery in there anyways.
