My atties beat up my rDNA :( I heard gun metal finishes are less prone to this. Is it true?

I bet it still gets beat up on the gun metal but is harder to see since the colors are similar. You should see my vaporshark dna30. Scratched all to hell, grooved even due to one of my spheroids having a burr on the bottom from the GP fork used to disassemble it for cleaning.

Just reading up on some of the issues you guys have been having. Sorry to hear all of that. I've been using my Shark DNA30 (small) forever now as my daily device. I've got the gunmetal, and the finish at the 510 held up GREAT until I destroyed my kayfun Lite's screw... Now it's all chewed up from that screw, but it doesn't bother me at all.

I placed my pre-order for the 40 rDNA + charger pad today. :)

Strange. First buy from vaporshark and already I'm baffled by the customer service.

Didn't realize that the rDNA 40 comes with the wireless charging receptor in-built, so I didn't buy the charging transmitter.

Found out about it, and messaged them to ask if I could add the charger to my order.

Their answer (Brian) was "no you'll need to place another order because this is a preorder"

What.....?!

The RDNA 30 with the card was Qi wireless charging. Can't find the specs on the new one coming out. You can probably use any Qi charging base that you would use for other devices.

Has anyone who pre-ordered the rDNA 40 noticed that the width is almost twice what the rDNA 30 was? It doesn't really look that way in the rendering of the product on the website, but it's listed at 1.3" wide. That would make it .3" wider than the Hana.

Woah that's a major turn off for me.. Maybe I'll buy a 40 chip and rewire it to fit my rdna 30

Well, that's a bummer.

Thanks. Congratulations on your upcoming RDNA 40. Hope it works out well for you. Sometime if you like a more airy draw try the kayfun without the AFC screw works great and it won't have the scratching or locked on mod issues some have experienced. My AFC screw stays in my vape tool box. Although now with the Erlkonigins and ErlprinZ out it has been getting neglected.:)

While I have obviously had my issues. In regards to the extra width that wouldn't be one of them. It would be super cool to just toss it on a charger pad when you want to charge it. "If" the wireless charging works well and without issue that is a really cool feature and worth the slight size difference. I really hope this launch and the devices work out well for everyone, and it is the greatest thing ever.

Doesn't bother me at all. Attys cover it up. The only mod if ever had that didn't have atty scratches was a Hana bc if it's weird recessed well thing around the 510. If a mod has been used, it'll have atty marks.

Well, that's a good thing :) But in my case, it's still visible whenever I put a smaller atty on there, that's below 22mm in diameter, like the Atomic, Protanks etc. I don't care much for it though, still a very nice device.

Actually I still prefer my KFLs over my Plus. I was talking about the fill screw on the KFL. :)

I got a Nexus 7 tablet last year and decided to take advantage of the Qi charging so I bought a charging pad almost exactly like the one VS is selling on eBay for $20. I liked the wireless charging so much I got an adapter for my S3 phone and a Tylt Vu charging stand (has dual coils so you can charge in portrait or landscape). I upgraded my phone to the LG G2 mainly because it has wireless charging built in. Charging is a bit slower but it's so convenient to just put it on a cradle to charge w/o plugging anything to the device.

If the rDNA 40 is really .3" wider, that might be a deal breaker for me. The wireless charging coil does not take 1/4" of space and defeats the purpose of the VS design of small and compact.

In his review, Phil Basardo mentioned the integrated wireless charging was going to add an additional 3mm width to the device. The technology is pretty cool, but I wonder how much it will change the feel of the device in use, because the rDNA 30 fits well in the hand.

It is near the end.

It did kill it for me. I cancelled my order today and will be waiting to try and get a vapor flask. I know 1.3" doesn't sound super wide, but it's half an inch wider than my MVP 2 and that is just too wide to be comfortable in my pocket on the go. Also, nothing against Vapor Shark, I was very excited for this device, but to me wireless charging is not worth the extra size.

Lol. Isn't the vapor flask significantly bigger anyway..? Not to mention a good load more expensice

I asked a reviewer about the flask's size, because I wondered myself. He told me, "For the V2: 3 5/8" standing up right, ~2 3/8" wide 22mm or 7/8" in depth weight 8.5oz with batteries installed."

The Vapor Flask is wider, I guess you would say, but not thicker and $300. I didn't say they were necessarily in the same specific part of the market, it's just the other device I have been looking at.

I wonder if they will upgrade the dna30 to a dna40. I would pay for that. Or maybe it'll be cheaper to sell the dna 30 and buy a new dna 40?

Looks like they will be offering an upgrade service. May also help the folks who want the DNA40 but not a larger device because of the wireless. Just found this in the comments on their Facebook page:

"Vapor Shark: Matthew is correct. We will be offering a service to upgrade your rDNA 30 and put the new DNA 40 chip in its place. This service will be $99.99 and you will get your DNA 30 chip back. We will announce the release of that service sometime in the next week or so. We appreciate your patience."
