I see what the problem is here. Try your kayfun without the AFC screw. I think you will like it better. I keep mine in my vape tool box. I haven't used an AFC in a long time. Even the AFC for my Erlkonigin sits in my tool box.

I just did this on 2 of my kfls, and i like it. I noticed some improvements. Airflow seems ever so slightly better (because I used to screw in the afc screws just a little bit so it wouldnt back out, and now its completely open) and the whistling has improved (but not completely gone away). I also recommend taking the afc screws out.

Oh, and my vaporshark rdna finally arrived (although it didnt update at ALL until it was delivered, AND it said it was delivered at 1130 so I went to check at 130 and it wasnt there but it finally showed up at 4, stupid usps). The button is still not level, meaning it sits higher on one side than the other, but the button staying on issue seems to be gone, we shall see if it stays that way.

The Vapor Shark problem, It is NOT protected from reverse polarity, if you should put the battery in wrong, it will FRY the board, then Vapor shark will not repair it, They will give you $50.00 core charge only. and to get another one it will be $140.00.
It is so easy to install the battery wrong, I did after having it for Two months. So, in my judgment with till they get the problem fixed, save your money and buy something else with reverse polarity solved. BUY WITH CAUTION. You have been warned of the problem.

It's more an evolv DNA 30 problem than a vs problem, with the exception of Zen (as far as I know) there isn't reverse polarity protection for DNA 30 devices. It's a fairly well known situation. Hopefully the next evolv chip will address the issue.

Personally I think producers, and consumers owe it to each other to use common sense. You don't buy a new car with a warning on the sticker in the window that says "don't drive while drinking". Although in this case it "could" be a simple fix, at least the producer of the product is including a warning. If we as consumers can't understand what warnings are or mean for any given product we purchase, than in my opinion, we have no business buying them.

I never get the whistling on my authentic kayfun. Maybe I got lucky. It sure is better with the AFC out. I need to check the Kayfun threads again they were trying out a drilled out center post from a vendor. Interested to see if it improves the draw.
Glad you got it back sorry it wasn't fixed properly. I understand some quality control issues can slip through. However when you sent it in they should have fixed the sticking and fixed the button so it was level. Tooth tamers was sticking too. When he got it back from repairs it still stuck. They finally agreed to send him a new one, but it should have been properly fixed when he sent it in. They probably gave him the new one because of his you tube video on the issue.

I received the rDNA on Saturday and am loving it! It's far and away the best device I've ever used, powerful and solid! I'm using it with my Joytech Delta tank (1.4Ohm) at around 13/14 Watts that I previously used on my Totally Wicked E-lectron-S that didn't really have enough power for it.

The only real issue I've had is that the tank doesn't sit flush on the device. It's not a major issue for me but I didn't expect that on a £150 unit.

I've had my VS rDNA for a week now with the wireless charger and a sharkskin and I have to say this has turned into my favorite device. I am not a box mod guy but this little gem has rocked my world. Battery life, even with the supplied VTC4 is great when combined with the remote charging. I have two pads, one at work and one at home and the convenience of just putting it down and then picking it up charged is like magic. The convenience of not swapping batteries makes the device very fire and forget.

The size of the device is about as compact as one can get and its weighty (I like that) so you feel like you're holding something reasonably substantial. The other benefit of weight is stability, even with the sskin on it sits solidly. I'm not a fan of the display being at the bottom of the device pager style, but I see the necessity of it it given how Evolv boards are built. If someone made a device like this and put the display on the side, it would be perfect IMHO.

I've topped it with a Orchid V2 and a stubby wide drip tip and its a great combination. 0.7ohm dual coil .32g kanthal with Japanese cotton really brings out the flavor in my favorite daily vape. The Zen ZNA is collecting a little dust at the moment.

I bought a second charge pad, so now I have one at home and one at work and just leave it connected to a spare USB port on both computers.

the reverse polarity issue was explained in pbasardo's video with John and the other fellow at Evolve. They hadn't solved the ability to actually analyze the quality of the charge in the battery AND provide reverse polarity protection, at the time. I suspect they have solved it now or will soon, and we will see that aspect addressed. Burt as was addressed, it was a Evolve design point, not a VS. We all need to be reminded, when changing the battery, extra care needs to be used. this can't be a fumbling in the dark exercise without consequence! Not accusing anyone of such, but merely reminding us all, it is not a event to take too lightly. Use caution!

where VS wins or fails though, is in the CS dept. many of us get lucky, Units in stock, ship as stated, quality good. done. just vape. Others - deceived regarding shipping promises, poor quality control, failure to properly address product issues, etc. Thats all on VS to improve. Managing exponential growth, and maintaining proper CS and QC is what allows a biz to win or fail. Only time will tell if they can manage this part!

As for me, I was one of the lucky ones. I love my rDNA. Works consistently, flawlessly, invisibly. Like Apple's old saying - it just works.

On the flush sitting atty point, it is spring loaded 510; adjust your atty to get it as flush as you wish. I haven't personally had a atty not sit flush.

My R91 and Erl both run without AFC pieces in place.

Which was/is a well-documented fact of how the evolve board is designed. It's been covered ad nauseum throughout the interwebs, it was mentioned on the rDNA page, in the manual, and on a slip of paper inside the battery compartment.

So, I guess, you were warned as well.

Still put your battery in wrong, though.

They are very clear on their site about this. It could be resolved if they were to limit batteries to button top only. But then people would complain about that. Evolve will have this problem fixed with the next chipset.

The fact that it is exactly as small as you can possibly make an 18650 DNA box is one of the draws.
The Hana is that much bigger, and it still doesn't have button-top/reverse-polarity protection, and they've been at the top of the heap for how long?

It is what it is. Don't install your battery backwards.

Maybe its just me but I've never been challenged by putting the battery in properly. Given the consequence, I never rush it and I guess from years of non-vaping device battery changes, I am just disciplined about polarity and battery changes.

But if you get the VS with the wireless charging the issue becomes moot. I think thats a great solution if you're inclined to change batteries incorrectly - removes all the risk.

So I think VS deserves some credit for actually addressing the issue in a unique way that adds more value to the product.

Just hot dip the positive terminal in a synthetic coating with a slot for the positive button and NO additional length needed.

My battery lasts all day so I just USB charge mine. I changed the battery once to put in my efest 2500. I got the polarity right that time, but then I had a 50/50 chance right? LOL

Thoughts on my experience. I thought I would be swapping batteries all the time like I do on all my other devices. I never swap the battery. My USB charger chord works great. The battery life on my RDNA is amazing. I am actually truly amazed just how incredibly long it lasts running my Erlkonigin at fairly low wattage. Yes, I can go through it faster with a RDA at 25-30 watts, but that is to be expected. All my toppers the Kayfun,Erlkonigin,Magma,etc. sit perfectly flush. Still happy I have the option to swap the battery whenever I need to. I actually opened the battery door for the first time last night. My RDNA had stopped reading the ohms. There was nothing holding the screw like the Pbusardo video. I need to be mindful of that so I don't lose the screw. No biggie just something I needed to make a mental note of. The plus minus was incredibly well marked inside the battery tray with a giant plus and minus symbol. Yes, I am annoyed they didn't design it with the plus at the top and minus at the bottom, but that is a minor annoyance. It is extremely well marked. They have that little cloth piece to pull the battery out easier. A nice touch. Anyway took the battery out and put it back in. This reset the ohm reader and it works fine now. I think that is actually an Evolv quirk on the ohm reading issue. All is well.

VaporDNA, I think it was $90? Wanted the TOBH as well but it's on backorder.

Want to throw it on the rDNA at 17-20 watts and see how it is with a .8 or 1.0ohm single coil.
