Good, I'm glad that my post might be useful. I have no idea about the sizes really. I didn't know what size my screw was and I Googled what size screws my old radiatior needed to attach the fans and that's what I came up with. I think the 32 is a perfect spacing for the coils but you could probably achieve similar results using a bunch of different screws. Just make sure the threads are smooth because while unscrewing, if it gets caught, you'll jack up your coil.

I pinch the coil together, no heat, after I install it on my atty (not before because the screw does a great job of keeping the coil perfect while locking down the legs) and it springs back a little tighter, but still with prefect spacing....most of the time, sometimes some tuning is needed.

I think it helps with wicking when the coil does not extend over the build deck, but that is just my theory, YMMV.

Yes, I think you are right about getting as much of the coil over the air hole as possible but so far I've had pleasant results so I'm not inclined to mess with anything but that's a good tip if anyone is having problems. The screw method is my go to now unless I start having problems. I thought of this before when doing my kanthal builds but since that wire doesn't deform as easily I never really did it because using a micordriver was working just fine. I'm just stoked that I finally have a reliable build to take advantage of the ni200 wire and getting the ohmage (that can't be a real word) I desired and my temp control is finally doing it's job without the pain in the azz of building a microcoil.

Hello good people, I just wanted to update you with a build I've been doing for my Kayfun's that could probably be applied to a bunch of different atty's. I've been having trouble making good ni200 coils because the material is so frigging soft and can be very frustrating to work with. I'm sure I'm not inventing the wheel here but this has worked good for me. I do not like microcoils, I prefer spaced coils because less gunk seems to build up on the coils when I use spaced coils.

You will need a 6-32 x 1"1/4 screw, the one I used came from a computer fan I was using in a push pull configuration with a Corsair H50 water cooler. The screws are perfect for creating a .10 ohm coil with 8 wraps. The coil ends up nice and tight. You just have to unscrew the screw from the coil... carefully! I don't dry fire the coils at all, just wick it up, not tightly, and vape away. So check this out and see if it helps.

I tried different coils and the spaced coils has by far been the the most consistent. Contact coils would start out good, then anomalies would start to show up. I have 2 Lemo's, with the same build, that I rotate for filling and battery changes, which I do at the same time whether the battery needs it or not. I have learned that if you try and remove the atty to fill (or if you change the battery) then put it back on, the resistance never seems to be right, unless it sits for awhile. I know the coil needs to be at room temp before the DNA board should read it, but I am not that patient. Having it sitting there staring at me makes me want a vape even more...lol.

I have been doing this 2 tank method for almost a week now and it has been great, coil resistances are always the same and no fluctuations at all. I am a chain vaper, so I go through about 2 tanks a day.

Yep, it's the same exact screw. I have a new H105 which is why I had the extra fan screws laying around because now I'm only using a push configuration instead of push/pull. Then I got the idea... Hey, what if I...

I've been out of the pc loop for awhile. Still on my z87 4670k @ 4.7ghz :2cool: What's improved on the h105? Bigger rad?

Lol, I'm still on the x58 running a Xeon hexacore. They're so cheap now I ditched my i7-920 and got a x5650 that I'm running at 4.20GHz. Upgraded my gpu's to GTX 970's. Computer should last another 2-3 years now, hopefully. But yes, the rad is a little bit thicker and it's 240mm. A nice upgrade from my 4 year old H50 and keeps my temp real low.

I think it's a very small minority that are getting shipping notices. I'm not expecting anything until the middle of the month, I just hope it gets here before christmas.

I'm still running an i7 920(3.99 ghz), I've had an itch to upgrade for a couple years now but I just can't justify it since the 920 still does everything I need it to. I've never had a PC stay viable for this long before and it amazes me, my PII 350 and socket a Athlon were thoroughly outclassed within 6 months.
