yeah, heres the email for anyone whos interested.

"rDNA 40 UPDATE!

Firstly, we deeply appreciate your patience through the challenges we’ve faced during the production of our rDNA 40. As you may know, the issue was identified as faulty screens and a quality control issue at a third party circuit board supplier. Evolv has now corrected this issue with a new batch of circuit boards and a new detachable screen.

Here at Vapor Shark we have been working proactively to increase production levels with Evolv and we are finally getting out of the weeds! Aside from beginning to get caught up, we brainstormed ways to make the best of a difficult situation…and more importantly, how that translates into something tangible for our customers.

Just because we were dealt a production setback doesn’t mean that we stopped innovating. Now we’re making your rDNA 40 even better than expected...so here’s a little surprise for you guys.

Your rDNA 40s will come with previously unannounced improvements... extra goodies! Rather than waiting to unveil an updated version of our device, we’ve added some new and improved features. Your rDNA 40 will now come equipped with:

Larger Screen: The numbers and characters in this new format are 30% larger (the new version runs at 128 x 32 pixels v.s. 96 x 16 in previous versions).

Zip Charge: As the name implies, your rDNA 40 will now zip through the charging process in less than half the time of previous models! Zip

Reverse Polarity Buzzer: When inserting your battery the wrong way, not only does this device boast reverse polarity protection, but it will beep until the battery is inserted correctly.

We can’t wait to get these in your hands! We know you’ll be quite pleased as your rDNA 40s begin to arrive in early January. All orders currently processing will ship within the next few weeks. No more backorders!

We are currently in production with this upgraded rDNA 40 model and we’ll send your tracking number as we begin shipping.

Thanks again for your understanding, your patience and your business."

If you received the email that means you are getting the upgraded chip.

Just received a new email from Vapor Shark about 10 minutes ago. We should expect 3 new features to the rdna40 when they ship out in early January:

1.) Larger LED Screen
2.) Zip ( 2x faster battery charging)
3.) Reverse polarity "buzzer"

I personally don't want or need any of those but that is the standard now? I would not want a larger screen. Having the buzzer thing is neat I guess but since it's already protected I don't really see the point. Anyway, it's cool they are adding stuff.

I've been using the Silo tank with a .3ohm TSC head for close to a week now and it's not bad. I agree, it does have to be set higher than a regular Ni coil. At 450 it was kicking into TP every other draw, even at just 12w, but at 500 it doesn't at all. :)

It took almost a half a tank of juice to break it in but the flavour's been pretty consistent/enjoyable since then. Much better than a regular Nautilus atomizer imo.

Looks like those of waiting will get an upgraded rDNA 40. Larger screen, much faster internal charging, and a reverse polarity buzz.

Too bad for all the haters that cancelled :). To me, this is a demonstration of good customer service -- and maybe explains why we didn't get a message earlier as the VS team was cooking up how to respond to the delay. And adding these features mean a great deal more to me than a free bottle of juice from them.

It seems like some of you aren't understanding the purpose of temperature limiting. You are supposed to set the limit of the temp as your ceiling and that keeps the vape consistent and keeps the wick from burning. It's supposed to hit the limit but you guys are acting like that's a bad thing and just turning it up. That negates all benefits of the temp limiter.

You're treating it like a kanthal build in a regular mod and that's not how it was designed to operate.

I was thinking the exact same thing when I read these responses. It seems to me that hitting the temp limit will cause the device to simply hold that max temp thereby giving you max vapor at the sweet spot you selected. As long as you're wicking properly you should get max vapor/performance for as long as you draw.

Perhaps the nomenclature has confused folks, or perhaps I'm confused and it doesn't work that way. I'm a black friday order so I have to wait to start playing. :)
