looks cheap and tacky to me it bugs me. i been trying to find a vv/vw or just some random mech that is just a sleek styled aluminum box. VS40 is the closest i can get, but a nice dual 18650 box would be nice
Get the flask..... ;) I love mine, switch between it and the VS through out the day, both are awesome devices.

are there any hana modz type dna 40's out there that dont have that ugly 'H Hana Modz' branding on it?, the only thing thats really keeping me from picking up one of those also is that horrible giant branding. or even one thats not a DNA but has reverse polarity protection

The only thing that comes to mind is buying a $16.53 DIY Enclosure Case for HANA MODZ Pack DNA 20 Style Mod - aluminum / black at FastTech - Worldwide Free Shipping and a DNA 40 board. Building your own box is surprisingly fun, and vaping something you built yourself is pretty satisfying.

I believe there is another board out there with reverse polarity protection, but I cant think of the name. Pretty sure the ipv2 boards have it.

Update: VaporShark rDNA 40: Out for delivery :D 12/26/14 0850 EST

Hmmm... I had thought Cyber Monday orders weren't shipping till the middle of January. What time did you order?

VS has been very conservative with their shipping dates the last couple of months. When I ordered mine in mid Nov, there was a 15 day warning but it shipped in 3 days. Hopefully you guys will get your rDNAs within the first couple of weeks of the new year :toast:

just received my VaporShark rDNA 40 and plugged my kanthal atty onto it.... This is my first regulated device and I have to say that so far I am disappointed in the vapor production compared to my mech mod....

I was under the impression that my build was at .3 or .4 but the vaporshark reads. .17. Is it possible that my device is reading the resistance wrong and not supplying the coils with enough power? it seems like its barely making any vapor at 40 watts.

I hope i can get this thing to chuck bc if not i will consider this a waste of $200

Just got back from the gym and tried this out. Twisted 30ga with a 3.1mm inner diameter, 0.17 ohm

Was concerned about hot legs (an issued I had encountered when I had tried this before), but as it turns out, all was well!

Currently vaping at 25 watts, 420F. Working well. Hopefully it holds up for the rest of the day

0.17 on a mechanical is 103.8 watts. You can't expect the same performance on a DNA 40.

^ although you'll almost never ever get the full 4.2V on a mech. The voltage drop off a 0.17 ohm build would be huge.

I've been PM'ing with Grizz and it sounds like he's got a hot leg in his build. I asked him to fire it at 20w and watch the dispaly. He's hitting TP within 3 sec. Either space out the coil, tighten it up so all coils touch (short) or rebuild.

Once you get this sorted, it'll be the best $200 you ever spent on vape gear :D

Grizz posted that his build is Kanthal. I wouldn't think that the DNA 40 would allow a Kanthal build to run in TP mode. That said, a hot leg would need fixing no matter the mode.

D'oh!

That completely slipped my mind! That is true. But 30g 10 wraps with kanthal would be around 1.5Ω.

Went to their site. is that the one that is o-ringless? If so, hows the fit on that there Lemo D?

Yeap. It's the friction fit with the mega bore size haha. It fits on super snug. I might decide to file the bottom part by 1mm to make it sit flush though.
