Cool! I just got mine delivered! So are the ohms supposed to stay steady or jump around? Mine is steady at .19 when I hit it, and I thought I saw that the resistance was supposed to jump around?

Congrats!

The ohms should stay steady on the reading of the coil cold. It might move a bit during the refinement process but after that, it should be steady (in TP mode).

Also side note (I know I've been gone for a while but...), my first rdna 40 was from the first batch of preorder. Probably had it for a couple of months by now?

Interesting, the finishing has held up very well. No peeling or bubbling or anything. That's after having juice leak into the gap between the mod and the skin and sitting there for a whole week (im lazy like that). I've also dropped the fella quite a number of times, including dropping it and kicking it midair onto the asphalt. I do have a sharkskin on at all times, plus my ultra ghetto scotch tape fix around the 510 though.

Gotta say I've been very very pleased with my little fella (ha, cue jokes about my manhood)

Thanks KTMRider! I see, thanks for letting me know that. It did go down to .18 and hasn't moved. I was just wondering because this is my first nickel build and only had a cloned Magma available atm to build on.

What is the highest temp for Japanese cotton BTW?

Any time. The refinement periord will go for up to an hour after the last button press. When you put a new coil on the device, fire for 1 sec and let sit for 5-15 mins and it should set fine.

420°F is usually where cotton starts to singe. I've had mine set to 420°F since I got it. Tried a little higher but didn't make much of a difference so I stayed there. I'm using rayon though.

I got my shipping notice this morning(CM order #63609), now I can stop checking my email frequently and start checking the tracking info regularly. I'm excited that my first real mod should be here soon!

This might not be the best place to ask this but does anyone have any tips for twisting 30/32g Ni200? The tutorials I've seen involve using a cordless drill at low speed, I have a drill but it's a big heavy corded drill that doesn't do slow speeds very well. I'm also not sure if I should use 3 or 4 strands of 32g, if I do 4 I was thinking about twisting 2 twisted strands together. Lastly has anyone tried braiding it, I know from working on my boat that braided wire tends to be stiffer than the same gauge of twisted wire.

Cool, thanks! This is my first "legit" non-cloned device and I'm loving it! Build quality is superb and it is pretty heavy, in a good way. I never really spend that much on gear at one time, but I just couldn't pass up the CyberMonday deal! :):):)

I'm currently vaping on a twisted 30g. I used a safety wire twister so I don't think there's any "right" way to do it. Give it a shot and post pics! :D

I don't think it's any better or worse than 28g but since I have 100' of 30g, I thought I'd at least try it since Kiwi and others were so kind to post pics of their builds.
