A couple of questions re the rDNA40:
1 - Why would the stainless 510 connector be better than what's on it now?
2 - Will a 22mm atty have any overhang or sit w/in the edges?

The rDNA's 510 is chrome plated brass. Which is much much softer than SS.

It'll be fine for most times, but all it takes is one drop at an bad angle and you can rip the threads out

1) No idea
2) No overhang
Thank you both for your responses. I have 2 Atlantis tanks that I originally ordered to top a VF. I returned the flask as the top wasn't fully screwed down and the 510 connector was crooked (grrrrrr!) Agonizing over what to order in its stead.

I personally have very mixed feelings about the 510. My first REAL mod was a provari, and that thing had an indestructible 510. I've dropped it from chest height onto asphalt. I've dropped it from the 3rd floor of my house to the first, and the threads on my authentic kfl got ripped out but the provaries 510 was unscathed.

I also had a MVP v2 which had a chrome plated brass 510. That died after a couple a months; threads just stripped. It was a common issue with many of the earlier China mods too.

I've since dropped my rDNA approx 10 times from hip level and so far so good. But you know how things like that are. It just takes one silly fall

Anyone has the same problem?

When using kanthal build, 0.40ohms, works fine when the TC is on. Yes I know it is not control anything. BUT when I turn TC off rDNA40 will fire only 1-3W when it is set to 35W. If I take battery out and let it sit for couple of minutes works fine about 3-4 puffs and then started firing 1-3W and give temperature protection message.

I've been spoiled by VT 510's. The VS 510 comes very close but I cannot have a mod w/o a spring loaded 510.

Do you have yours in Celsius mode? If so, switch to Fahrenheit and try.

Yeah for sure. I can't go back to non spring loaded 510 either. Which is why I talked to VS and asked if they would be willing to retrofit my rDNAs with the new ss 510. No dice

Swap out your battery with a high drain Batt that you know for sure functions well.

I haven't had any complaints with the VS 510. I thought I was going to swap it out with a VT 510 but it works great.

Just noticed VS is selling these: Panasonic NCR18650B 3400 mAh.

Anyone running this battery in the rDNA40? How's it going? I assume it fits?

its quoted as being 6.8amp discharge, not gonna cut it to get full use out of your dna40...or 30.

what ktm said...beat me to it...fast like speedy gonzales
