I bought a Subtank Mini and at first I really didn't like it with the kanthal stock coils. It was sub par to say the least. When I took it up to 21 watts it couldn't keep up and was tasting burnt on a .5. I ordered some OCC nickel coils from Vaporshark to stick on my rDna 40 and WOW! The subtank mini with the nickel coils is amazing.
I may have to try the Mini. I have a Silo (Nautilus coils) and have been using the Ni coils from VS in the rDNA40. It's slightly better than kanthal, but not mind blowing. I still plan to make my own nickel coils, but the prebuilt coils can be convenient at times.

If I may ask -- what wattage do you have it at, and what temperature with the Mini and the TSC coils?

Walked into VS today and walked out with the rDNA (v2). This is a nice device. The screen glitches on me sometimes but when it goes dark and comes back on, it's fine. I may take it back for an exchange if it keeps doing that. That's the plus side to living where I live. I didn't have to wait a month for it to ship and I can just go exchange it.

420F at 30 Watts. Well it was. Mine just glitched so it is going back. This was the second one I had.

Would be nice being so close!
Take it back for an exchange. It does not get better, or fix itself.

Day 4 with the one I got at Sweet Vapes and it is now glitching  That was the only second chance Vaporshark gets. Looks like Yihi may get my money or perhaps a Vaporflask 2.1

If it glitches on VS, it'd do the same on VF, PV, HM and whoever other is putting a DNA40 in it, wouldn't it?

I wouldn't think it would, would it? Isn't the problem with the screen the big screen rDna40's? I have read a few responese on here the small screens seem to be fine only the bigger screen has the issue. If that is the case then a Hana, VF, should be okay since it is a small screen

I believe PBusardo had glitches with his HM as well as the VS, I don't remember if he had issues with the VF he was testing (it was a small screen version of the DNA 40).

Oddly enough busardo didn't have screen glitches on any of his. He just started that there were a lot of complaints. Of course, I bet his were tested twice over before being sent to him. lol. By the way, it's the chip, not vapor shark. Small screens used to do it but those got fixed. Supposedly the big screens are fixed now too but who knows how much back stock vapor shark is dealing with. I think a bunch of mods were made before the fix.

For what it's worth my dna 40 (small screen) has been working great for just over two day now. Where as my rDNA 40's never make it past 24 hours before the screens start scrambling. Should be exchanging the rDNA this week. Hopefully the third times a charm

I would wait about a month if you can. That's what I'm going to do, just to make sure I get the latest fixed board.

I have a first run small screen and a first run big screen, NO issues with either of mine:) I've also dropped the small screen(original) at least five times from at least 6 feet up on ceramic floors and not one issue with anything breaking, this things built like a tank! I have some paint chips but personally could not care, no one gives a crap what I'm vaping on anyways:D

I hope so. I have been following your posts and you seem to have had a rough go of it. At first I thought it was cool being the only person in the 3 counties near me having a DNA 40 or Vaporshark for that matter. Now I am afraid it has been more trouble then it is worth to keep sending them back in. Everyone who has seen goes oh that is so cool, how do you like it? My response is, It's great when it works. Wonder what some of the locals here would think if I just carried around a Vicious Ant box :)

Not necessarily, VS is the majority of issues, of course they are the majority of DNA40 sales as well. I played around with two VS40s, a Hana V4d, VFs and FTMs.

FTM I have Zero issues with it losing it's memory of the coil or "refinement" in the FTMs of course they do not have spring loaded 510s either. Some battery monitoring issues. Works perfect in TC mode as long as I am using a good atty for TC

One VS I played with was near perfect except for the refinement issue, and of course the battery monitoring issue. Both had issues in TC mode with atties that should have no issues.

The Hana was a bit problematic with refinement and battery monitoring and consistent performance in TC mode.

The VFs only issue is battery monitoring and some refinement issues.

I have made a non scientific, who cares who I am decision that most of the issues with the DNA40 mods are the cause of the mod makers. The more solid the internals are the better they perform. :)

    That is all.

Phil's all the DN40s are doing fine. So is Todd's, Dimi's, Martin's etc. By the grace of God it is also doing fine with many of us. Which suggests thankfully that the DNA40 is not endemic.

I've always been curious about the silo tank and wanted to try one. If your interested I have a practically brand new kanger sub tank nano that I would be willing to trade for a silo. I'll even throw in a couple of rebuilt occ heads with nickel in them. PM me if your interested.

I'm one of the other lucky ones with no issues. Bigger screen rDNA40, build date is 12-27-14. I've got a tempered Ni200 contact coil in a Pollux clone (dripper, good one too, I don't see it mentioned much) and I don't think the "refinement" thing has ever been a problem either.

I've got a history of rotten luck (medical issues, long story) so I feel very fortunate that I haven't had any trouble at all with my VaporShark. I really do feel bad for everyone who's had to do returns. That REALLY sucks. :(
