Am I the only one that thinks, this Vapor Shield coating should be included with a new unit, and not be charged $34 more for it.
Especially with the door design, prone to juice leaking in.

I can see how appealing that could be. But I'd prefer they leave their pricing as is and offer it as an add-on. I'd hate for them to raise the base prices $34 more for a new coating when some may not want it.

And to be fair, I highly doubt they could afford to throw it in for free.

As a side note, I wish the wireless charging was also an add-on. If I could save $20 or so by not having it, I'd be all about removing it. I will never use it... However, many find it really important.

It's not just a coating on the exterior; the board itself and all the interior electronics are coated in the process they are talking about.

I honestly don't even see a point in the coating. I mean correct me if I'm wrong but I'd image water can still leak through the mod via all the spaces and "cracks" in the casing. Places like the battery door, buttons, and usb port gaps.

I thought short and soft (as opposed to long and hard) about the hygroscopic coating when sending in my rDNA 30 for upgrade. Made no sense to me economically or in terms of performance.

Of the few serious atty leaks I've had on the rDNA 40 they all wound up in the ridges of the cover: caught in the nick of time. Can't see how the coating, alone, would prevent that.

Would be interested in seeing my speculation proved wrong.

So I finally received my DNA30 and rDNA40. Both working fantastically. However the rDNA40 just had a screen glitch where bottom half is scrambled. Went back to normal after the screen turned off. Now whether I should keep using it or send it back.. build date 1/22/2015.

I have a rDNA40, build date 1/24/15, with the screen glitch as well. I just received an email from Vapor Shark yesterday informing me they now have boards they are 100% sure do not have the screen glitch. So I would say now is a good time to RMA it.

Just because they just received 100% glitch free boards doesn't mean they have gotten past the ones that do glitch. So I'm still gonna wait a little longer before I exchange my rDNA. It fires my atty's as expected every time I press the button so no rush.

My VS (rDNA40) has also had the screen glitches, a couple of times, it fixes itself after the screen turns off.

The screen glitches appeared since I started to use nickel wire with temperature limiting.

It would be great if the new DNA40 boards "screen glitches" free, also have corrected the problem of battery meter.

Mine has this problem as well. I have the VS DNA40 (not rDNA) so I have to patiently wait for the screen to go off :)

It seems to happen when I have the screen on and attach an atty to it with a nickel coil. The entire screen goes scrambled. It happens VERY infrequent. I'm not even going to bother sending it back tbh. Would love to see it resolved so no one else has the problem, but frankly it just doesn't bother me enough to shell out money to ship it back and wait for the fix.

dual coil 30g Ni200 3mm ID screwdriver 11 wraps each coil, eats through juice but is much cooler vape compared to single coil... Most rDNA users use single coils?

I've been practicing so please let me know if I need to change anything about my setup! resistance = 0.17 ohms, how can I make the Omega for the ohms here lol?

Ω = Alt + 234

Another common one is:

° = Alt + 0176

PSST, for RMA's, they send you a shipping label (1 day priority), or maybe I'm just special :2cool:

Seriously though, it has never bothered me that much either, but hey, if I can get it fixed why not, and since I have my original I don't mind parting with it.

Yes they do send a 1 day label. Just for some reason the post office can't seem to read that part of the label and it ends up taking 3 days. Then add 1-2 days at VS + 3 days going back to me. There a week of me checking tracking numbers and emails like a nut. But the back up shark should make it stress free .... I hope.

What are your build dates on your units in the battery compartment? Is it recent?

I'm going to wait about 2 weeks and send it back and get the Vape Shield treatment while it's there.
