That was excellent and we are much indebted. GREAT Job.

No prob. Glad to be of help.

BTW - do you want me to keep updating the list if something else shows up, or was this a one-time thing?

Cheers.

Guys please watch this man do it,,,, but also read the way I said, because we are using different wick, and my method works even better then his as far as the wick and a tighter coil for this particular set up and use a big sewing needle instead of the drill bit or a much smaller drill bit then in the video, and wet the wick just a little on the end and spin it and thread it through while spinning and pushing it will go,

here = How to rebuild resistance and wick to an atomizer. - YouTube

only use the needle to wrap your coil, then remove coil, then just put the end of the wick in your mouth and wet it,, get it started in the first loop, the start twisting it and spinning as you push it through, you will see what I mean and how it starts to go through :)

vapspaz,,, my finished wick coil, is much tighter then the one you show on your pics, just saying,,,, mine looks more like what you see in a 510 Atty when I'm done

All I can say is "I'll be damn"

All this time I was cursing my wick...

"Genius"...Wrapping your Kanthal around wick & pin or paper clip, or whatever, is stone age compared to this...

Big Kudos

Can't wait to hear the results on the stainless. My hunt for a good feed system seems to be pointing towards genisis style but I've yet to see one I can afford. Any pics of one on a provari? I'll be pulling the trigger on one tomorrow and I'm wondering what this'll look like on top

Hey, there are options, and then there are necessities. A Provari is a *necessity*. :D

On a more serious note, I would have saved myself at least five hundred bucks if I just got a Provari in the first place. Seriously.

I'm sorry, but I couldnt help myself with this one....please, no disrespect intended....

Yeah--I was goign to ask you but to be honest that about covered it, Chris sent that over to the engineers and that should be plenty to work with...

It's cool I thought the same as I typed it. I've been wanting both a provari and a Genesis for a long time. I have enough for one. I figured the provari was a higher priority. Besides I'd rather not spend $150 for each juice (4 so far) if i can get the same vape at $15 a piece. I have high hopes for this tank

I understand fully. I want a "Real" rebuildable so bad I can taste it. You FOR SURE made the right choice.
Briar hit the hammer on the head. Hindsight being 20/20, I wish I had started with a "High Performance" MOD out the gate myself. I too, am fixing to order my next "step up" in a few days. I love my Buzz Pro II, but alas, its time for something better.

After a great deal of thought, Im holding off on a Line V2, or Z-atty unless I get a killer deal on one. Why?
I love to vape about 7 different flavors, and that would equal about $750.00 worth. I'm constantly swapping Boges all day.

Right now, A "Good Ol' Boge 2.0 in a tank is working just fine, but I have my eye on one of these Vivi's...The jury is still out...waiting and reading....

Vape On !!

OK, first a disclaimer. I'm not one of you fancy modders. I'm just a regular vaper. The most I've done is trim my wick. Don't have a provari, the fanciest thing I have is a Joyetech 18650 mod. I don't build stuff. I buy stuff and like for it to work. I want easy. I want quality. But I also want a great vape. I'm a loyal Vision Ego Clearomizer user, I confess. So easy, effective and maintenance-free.

From my perspective as a "regular vaper"...I thought the flavor of the Vivi was muted at first. But halfway through the second tank on two different Vivi's, they are both giving great flavor and TH on Ego batteries...and putting out vapor like a fog machine!

My only complaint is that between these, the Phoenix XL, the Phoenix tank, and the C8...I seem to be getting a LOT more nicotine with the same amount of vaping...it must be all that extra fog.

I tried using a stardust coil in the vivi. When taking the vivi coil apart the grommet fell apart. I got it to fire then I started getting e1 errors.

Going to try again when the replacement coils come in. I do think it would work though.

What did you do to it to make if fall apart? I mean... It's rubber... :D

I tried putting a Fluxo coil in there - it sort of fit ok, should have worked, really. I must have done something wrong (my first head transplant, after all), 'cause I also got that error. Oh, well.

First impression:

- rapid shipping, awesome packaging
- nice build on the innards (not sure how that little rubber o-ring will hold up with repeated re-builds, anyone has any idea on replacement o-rings of that particular size?!),
- cheap feeling tube (but the slightly frosted appearance is encouraging re: likelyhood of cracking)

All heads measured within tolerance. There is a lot of wicking on all of them - I noticed some have "free" strands, that are not inside the coil, some do not... The heads screw in well onto the center post.

The whole device screws in averagely - what I mean is that on the ProVari connector, before this, I've never had to give a thought to screwing in an attachment, but this doesn't really go in the first time, you have to play with it a little.

The draw is quite tight. It even makes a little whistling sound. The air comes in through holes drilled into the base, not into the connector so it has nothing to do with the battery's connector peculiarities - may make for identical draw regardless of device. But it's tighter than I like. Tighter than a regular Boge carto, much tighter than a 306 atty. If you don't like tight draws, that could be an issue.

The top cap fits pretty much any drip tip, but it's on the large side. Drip ends on various devices are notorious for lack of a standard dimesnion, and usually drip tips are a tight fit in my experience. Here - a loose fit. If you have a tip that's been struggled into some particularly tight atty or carto, it may wiggle around.

Filling is a non-issue - straight from any bottle, and you can even pour it back into a bottle (yeah, I tried).

Vaping...

It takes a little while (40 - 50 puffs) for it to start putting out good vapor. Then the vapor production is quite good, on par with a fresh cartomizer. It's on the warm side, but it doesn't get hot in spite of it being a top coil.

Taste.. blearh!... The flavor is quite muted with every head, and there is a sweet, plastic-y overnote. I know my jucies' taste very well, and that's none of the notes I used! Very interesting. I'm even warry of inhaling it unless it subsides significatnly. I'm still keeping up hope for this, and I am sure to try re-building it with mesh once my shipment from the UK arrives :(

Anyway, I've never had a device that had so many positives going for it, and such a bad negative breaking the deal - so I find it hard to believe that's truly the case, and I'm optimistic the flavor somehow will improve.

ETA: I guess this adds me into the:

  • Plastic-y/weird flavor – 15 instances

...category

I'm curious: did you try dry-burning your heads? If not, try it and see if the coils light up normally...

It was one that the coil didn't burn, but the ends did. Must have burned up, it just fell apart into 3 pieces.

Should have mentioned this: I washed the tank thoroughly, and I dried and and dry-burned the wick. I noticed that the wicks act differently when heated with a lighter (they burn more than I'm used to with silica and the singe). With dry-burning, all the coils light up beautifully.

I also vaped it without the silicone cap, just to see if maybe the plastic-y taste comes from that thing heating up, and it does not - same taste without it.

I have a highly speculative hypothesis - The only thing I cannot explore myself is the air pathway inside the bottom plate. This is new, and my other semi-issue is the stiff draw. I see some people experience airy draw. Could there be differences in the size of those holes / channels? And could there be some residue inside those channels that gives off the weird taste?!
