Oh Briar how I wish I had your luck. I had just the opposite with mine. Though I can mod, re-wick mine, I actually bought this for the wife because I am trying to get here to "rebuildable status" and figured this would be a good first step. I never even mentioned they were for her because If I had of given this to her It woulda been over. They tasted absolutely awful.

This is in my opinion just the "first run blues" that so many of use have had. Only it seems we have them over and over again. For once I would like to get a new toy and it actually work:facepalm:

Again, I am glad yours and others have worked as good or better then expected. Maybe I am the minority? But mine were not worth the money spent.

$16 Dollar tank, about .16c and 5min to make a new wick/coil up,,,, dont quit so fast Bmays, once ya got the coil making thingy down I think your opinion may change, or buy the new heads :) hang in there a bit

I second that. Remember, my first box had icky heads too - well, one I really don't know about, it's missing in action, along with my eGo adapter, I think the dog stole the box or something... Thank God I got another adapter in the mail today, I'm lost without it, should have ordered two.

Look at it like you bought a good tank without a carto - I honestly think, just looking at the prices out there, this is not a bad way to think. Plus, like Mwa said, you can rebuild the coils. And buy more heads when the new and improved ones come out. And, besides, look what happened to me: I got three of them today, and all three were great. Not a single bad head. I don't think it's luck. I think they had a QC glitch or something on the first batch of the first run, and those of us who jumped on these things first thing got those few that were "not right in the head".

Cheer up! :)

"not right in the head"
Now thats funny rite thar, I don't care who ya are.

No mine were not right in the head at all. I have no issues rebuilding coils, wicks, what-have you. I have an Orion.....Need I say more;) Love the device but it can test your patients like no other.

I think there really is something to my prior post showing the grommet material between cartos/ViVi I too hope these new heads will be better. I don't like the fact that I had to eat the cost of the current ones, $16 bucks or not.

Will keep posted to updates as they come.
EDIT: This threads official tight azz.....:p

The pix look very convincing.

I'm with Bmays on this one. Still fooling with the 1st Vivi @2.4ohms. Been running it at 3.7 ~ 4.3v. In that range I'm getting pretty muted flavor. But if I go much higher I'll start to taste burning wick.

Still Haven't cleared a tank yet cuz I have to keep taking it off my provari to get a satisfying vape off something else. Then you've also got the air flow issue.

I haven't modded any of them yet. I'll prolly pop the 1.8 on my other one and try a different juice.

My 1st experience with the Stardusts was pretty good but went downhill quickly from there. These to me seem to be pretty much the same thing, just bigger.

Getting ready to write this $$ off as a learning expense like I did for the stardusts.

i think its a good deal specially when they start having replacement parts tubes and such. if the stone tank is really being discontinued i would also love to see a head with that top so you could have either the stardust type head or the ce2 head if that's your preference. and a 4 wick head from a grande too would be fun to play with. just not sure there is room to fit them in there with the center column of the base being so tall. still kinda on the fence myself lol
cant wait to see what other options are in store

Bmays - I'm having some probs with my Vivi heads and am still screwin' with them but I would like to get into re-building soon - Some questions: what guage wire should be used and what determins the final resistance, is it the number of turns on the coil, the length used, the guage or all of the above?? - what kind of wick works best?? - where do I aquire the needed material?.....also, I haven't seen a vid that clearly shows where the neg and pos wires go (on the Nova) - the ce2s are obvious solder joints and these don't seem to involve solder at all - thanks

You are correct, All the above. The thinner the wire the most resistant, so you would need less wraps. You can really use whatever wire you want. I just happen to have the two mentioned before and I got my fiberglass wick from a prior rebuildable mod I had.

I'm honestly not sure where the best place is for wire/wick. I bought my wire from ebay, like $5 tops. Some of these folks may have a good recommendation as to where to get the supplies.

Aso to the +/- connections. You roll the wire/wick as seen in most any video, then leave the two ends hanging about 1.5" Drop both through the hole (assuming you have removed the +plug, grommet etc.). Take the grommet in your hand and slide it into place pinching one wire (either one) onto the outside of the body and the other will then be sticking out through the center of the grommet. Then, take that + plug and slide it in pinching the only other wire between the plug and the grommet.

Having better results with my 2nd Vivi than the first. This time I put on the 1.8ohm head and removed the floating wick.

I'm getting a better vape and no burning wick taste yet. But unless I partially block both air holes there's hardly any flavor at all. This makes the draw pretty stiff though.

Going to have to trim down my patented paper clip mod, right now it's quite the eyesore. For now I just have one end in each hole and gave the excess a twist to provide some tension. I imagine with a pair of needlenose & clippers I could custom fit it and have it be barely noticable

A little more promising but still not the answer I was looking for.

Been vaping 2 of them for last 2 days, filled 3 time each with 70/30 in both. 1 on a KGO w/1.8 ohm and other on a EGO Twist w/2.4 ohm at 4.2v, very satisfying.

Starting to think some of the burning taste people speak of might be just related a lot to the type juice their vaping at what voltage. I vape my DIY 555 at 4.2 to 4.4 and any higher i get a burnt taste, using a DIY Cola over 3.6 and i get the burn taste

Nah burning wick is a pretty distinct taste. And it tastes the same regardless of what juice you're vaping. If it were the juice I'd think burning Malty Toffee would taste different from burning Orange Dream.

Seems like the issue may be just with the 2.8ohm head. Odd since the voltage wasn't all that high (around 4.3~4.4v). In fact I'm running the same voltage on the 1.8ohm head and not getting the burnt wick taste.

Did you measure the resistance of those heads? Some of them were off.
