My throat felt funny as soon as i woke up and been bothering me all day..prolly acid reflux or sumthin but wanted to take the coil out of the 1.8 to see if the rubber gasket was burning. Found out it did have black singe marks from the leads..still waiting for my nichrome wire to get here but i do have an old fluxo that was never used with a disconnected negetive wire

Took apart the fluxo..burned off the wire insulation and cleaned it up..kept the little black gasket and even though it was slightly different shaped than the vivi gasket i decided to use it..put the fluxo coil/wick and gasket on the vivi head. Took the plug out of the one vivi air hole because the draw was tighter as well. Its been working great since..5 hours so far no leaks through the gasket that ive seen..flavor is much better..vapor a bit as well it seems...kinda surprised it worked first try..thought for sure id break something.

I knew it. A head transplant. They tried it on a monkey once, you know. Worked, too, horrible as it was... Just make sure no-one calls PETA on you! :D

I'm wondering if just replacing the gasket without replacing the coil would work. I seem to recall that someone actually did it... I don't have any spare working Stardusts (and I love my Stardusts too much to sacrifice them anyways), but I have a couple that just now bit the dust (finally, after months of chugging along), so I could probably get those gaskets out...

Does grinding down the center post flush to the threaded part impede air flow? I.e. grinding down removes the two notches in post.

I grinded mine down almost flush. It is within a micrometer i would say. I was scared to take it all the way flush as I did not know if it would still make good contact with the battery. Anywho if it affected the airflow in any way it is so minimal that I can not tell a difference.

Simply replacing the gasket made a diff in mine, but doing it with those tiny leads is the problem. If you have wire to rebuild its one of the easier ones to do.

Uh, yes, I see your point. Yes, sticking those little "tails" back in would be next to impossible (with my eyes and fingers anyway). I don't have any wire currently, maybe I'll order some for now, it's cheap.

Ok... Im back to checking up on this thread to see if anyone has come up with a solution that got these VIVIs vaping like stardusts. ( Diggin my stardusts )

I did do some surgery on the 2.4 head by just yanking the coil and the wicks. I used some cottom wick and wrapped with a coil from a new 510 clearomizer dual coil. It shows 2,2 on the meter.... went to vape it and its still the same... GOBS of vapor but the flavor is barely there. What gaskets are you guys changing out ??? I have a few stardusts that are about toast so i can grab some goods from them if need be considering I have no wire .

so..... what gasket again ??

Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhh THAT little guy.. ok... hmmmm.. Mine wasnt cookin that I could tell. Had a tiny little mark on it but hey, so does the silicon cone inside the stardust tube that holds the negative side of the coil to the post. So thats whats burning for you guys and giving a funky fried rubber taste ?.... go figure.

So any rewicking / coil improvements / mods that are working ?

When we do get the new heads in we have to 'think' out the procedure to try to make sure that the ones who first purchased the ViVi get first crack at the reduced price on the head. We won't have these up at the reduced price forever as they are fairly inexpensive at our price anyway.

Maybe what we can do is leave the reduced price open for 7 days, limit purchase to one per ohm to anyone as it is nearly impossible task to ferret out who would be buying the new ViVi's with these newer heads and then sayign to them they cannot order the new heads until previous customers got a crack. So just a warning to everyone, we may just have to make them an open purchase item, with a limit and when they sell out they sell out or when the time limit is up, either way. Then new batches that come in would just be priced at the regular price of $2.95, which is below what they should be selling for anyway factoring everything in from our perspective.

Hi Dan im sure you folks will get it figured out and hopefully as a customer that bought 2 vivi nova's April 25th the first day of their release i can get at least 1 of each ohm before they sell out im not greedy after all i can only vape one tank at a time and with proper working heads 3 of them should last until you folks get restocked .

As a side note the phoenix xl is a grandslam in baseball terms thats all i use and hope to be able to purchase them for a long time to come.
Still have in rotation my first Phoenix out of package that came to me that Monday April 29th with my Nova's and its working excellent still.

well arthur then you might be doing a dance soon, because a separate vision team is working on heads that will make all your heads spin, from dual coils, to possible ss,, 4 wicks like grande, dct and so much more, but that is still all being worked on, but I will say i saw something last night from them that knocked my socks off..lolol

That's awesome to hear! I would kill for a rebuildable/reuseable dual coil ce2. Can't wait to see the forthcoming work

3rd day here too. First head was a waste. I could not make it work no matter what I did. The wick under the coils were burnt and gunked up into a solid mass. I took that head apart, removed that wick and coil, and have retained the head for when I want to experiment with DIY'ing my own coils.

Onto head number two. Also a 2.4 head (I bought extras). I read somewhere in the forums (sorry I can't remember he ops name) that the wicking may be too tight under the coil and could cause the juice to not flow through the coiled section. It made sense to me, so I pulled out one of the wicks from within the coils and laid it over the top alongside the other free floating wick. Trimmed the top cap to make some space on the "slit" and filled 'er up. Fast forward 15 minutes. Deep breath! Release! Another deep breath! Release! FIRE!!!

Hey FLAVOUR! right off the get go.. 30 minutes later, here I am posting my results. Flavour is still coming through. Could it be better? Yes it could! But, it's better than the first head ever was. Let's hope it stays that way.

Keep y'all posted...

I finally had some time over the weekend to really try the Vivi. The 3 factory heads all had mute flavor. Since I had some wire from a rebuildable mod I purchased over a year ago I rewired and wicked all of my heads. Now the Vivi is performing awesome. I used Nichrome 60 wire and the wicks off a CE-2. It's great to have a tank that I can rebuild.

Some advice for Chris/Dan. Do not take a factory's word that they have tested something and assume it is ready to be sold. A testing process should be developed where you guys send out random samples from the beatch the factory has sent you for general sale to people like Lord Davon, TimH etc to througly test any new product. Seems you did this with the Phoenix and it really shows as it has almost everyone is have great experiences with them. This would delay the realease of new products but in the long run it will be better for everyone.
