I too created a SS mesh/coil setup tonight and it is working as good as I figured it would being out of its elements of "normal" Genisis setups. I suppose thats part of the fun with this style head design. There is lots of room to play and taylor to you liking.

I'm psyched about the new heads, Sooooooo Bad, ready to post that video yet?:smokie:

I have a Zenesis Mini, however it doesn't lend itself to traveling too well. The Viva fits the bill perfectly.

all new viv novas will have flush connectors and new heads in kit, we will also have new heads for sale, and we will get old head with no coil and wick in them for modders of old vivi

new heads will work with old vivi;s so no worries with that and perform even better in the newest vivi becuase of the minor adjustments made to them with airlfow.

Does this mean the new heads will not be rebuildable?

It's just the replacement metal tubes for the ViVi Nova, so you don't have to worry about the plastic tubing breaking.
Ok, I have stepped away from this thread and need to catch up. The ViVi's that are avail. right now, are the new and improved? or is it just the heads (which shows sold out)..

Should I wait?? HELP !!

I've been reading this thread for two days now and am so amazed to all the confusion on these viva novas. When I first got mine I changed out the 2.4 to 1.8 and over filled the tank. It didn't take me long to figure that out. I noticed the lack of flavor right away, but more importantly I noticed the lack of vapor I was getting. So of course the flavor would be muted. I looked to see if the silicone was choking the wicks and they were not. So then I thought maybe I screwed the top down too hard and loosened it a couple of threads and wola vapor and flavor. I ran that tank dry and refilled with the same juice. I started to figure out why I had to run the top loose. I took the silicone and little metal spout out of a stardust and tried that. No luck. Put the original back on minus the little metal piece and screwed my top on tight and had no problems after that. I have never experienced the taste of rubber. My theory on that is you raised the volts too high trying to get vapor or you took an awfully long draw. Of course there will be little burn marks on the rubber. Did we forget the purpose of using resistance wire. It better glow red and that means all of it, even where it makes contact with metal. The Grim makes me chuckle every time I see him taking a toke cause it seems forever. To make these work stop trimming and cutting and just take out the metal washer on top of the tube. Bad I would take another look before putting the mfg. on notice.

I think he's talking about the little metal cap thats under the sleeve just above the wicks

That's the one I'm talking about too. Sometimes these "hats" or "cup seals" get scorched from below by the coil - it's been known to happen. This metal doohickey is one of the things folks really loved about Stardust.

When you remove it you either tighten the draw if you push the hat all the way down and possibly run the risk of scorching it from below, or, alternatively, if you don't push the hat all the way down, perhaps you are creating more airspace around the coil. Which latter may improve the flavor.

Either way though, most people with problematic heads were experiencing lots of vapor yet no flavor, so this is not typical. Nor did most of us overheat the coils with high wattage or lack of wicking.
