The concern I mentioned, and I'm uncertain if this indicates a problem or not... is that it looks like inside the tank is condensing... I don't recall seeing this on the all v2.5 tank. I also can't say if it even a problem really. I only suspect that the top seal isn't as good as on the v2.5 tank but that is only a guess at this point. I did also have a few moments where I got vapor into the tank and I readjusted the top seal a second time to eliminate that. ...

I don't think it's a problem, per se - meaning that I don't think it will impair the vape quality for you. It hasn't for me. I'm also using a v2.5 head in a v1 body in one of my setups, and also getting lots and lots of "fog" in there. :D I don't think it's condensation, I think it's the actual vapor backing up into the tank, because, as you said, the seal isn't tight.

I didn't really bother trying to make it tighter, because I was concerned that if I moved the coil hat up, it would cause flooding all the time - it's already wicking as much as I want it to, and opening up the wick slots more would not be a good thing I'm afraid.

But, even with some of the vapor backing up, I still get plenty of it, so I don't really see a problem there.

One problem that might come up though is that if you tip the tank upside-down, as we can do with them, ordinarily, it might flood, since the seal is not tight. So I just try to pay extra attention to which tank I am using. Otherwise, it's cool, IMHO.

I didn't like the v1 or v2, but this v2.5 head is tasting good. Like a few others I got a short wick with the 2.8 ohm. Don't really like those. Would really like a long wick that was measuring above 3.0 but its looking like what ohms it turns into are a crap shoot anyway. Don't all carto's pretty much carry that story? I am vaping this at 3.0 volts on my 1.5t lavatube. #$%* PWM!!! I think I'm the only person on ECF that dislikes PWM.

For those of you using the 2.5v heads on a v1 body and getting vapor inside the tank, the only way I found to limit that was to pull up the cover on the atomizer head and let the the top cap push it down as I screwed it back on. If you'll notice, the v2.5 heads are shorter than the v1 heads because the base it screws into is higher in the tank than v1.

BTW - shipping from Texas is fantastic. Ordered late Tuesday night, received order on Friday.

(vigorous nod) on both counts.

The "pole" on v2 and v2.5 is considerably taller, and I like that a lot. I only fill to slightly below the wick slits (just in case... just in case what, I'm not sure - flooding, I guess... I'm just used to doing it that way from my Fluxo days). With old tank, I could really only fill to a bit more than half tanks. now I can fill to 3/4 tank - biiiiiig difference.

And the shipping is fantastic. I get it as fast from Texas as I did from NY (and I live in NY). Two days and done. Great USPS service for a change, and great job, Dan!

First off....Im mad GV is shipping out of TX instead of NY now since i live in VA. Second...I it shipped 6\14 and arrived today....Im not mad they moved anymore :) Third, Just got this badboy (no pun intended) and my initial impression....QUALITY! Solid build, easy to break down good flavor off the bat. So far a good vape. I started with the 2.4ohm head and it read 3.2 on my Provari. Vaping it at 5.4v and no dry hits, no burning. Will report back later after killing a tank.

Hey all,

A buddy of mine got the v2.5. He has about no air draw when using with his new Lava Tube (v2??). The one that now has ego and 510 threads on top. If he looses it enough to get flow, not enough threads catch to hold it tight. It's weird, because the design of the tube is actually more airy on other tanks, than standard PV. Not sure why it has gone the opposite way with the Nova. Has anyone seen this, and really looking for work around. Any ideas would be appreciated.

Sev

P.S. It works on other batteries but Lava tube 1 is a little restricted and Lava 2 is very tight.

I think its the Capillary action. Here is an interesting read that may shed lite on wicking dynamics.
Capillary action can be defined as the ascension of liquids through slim tube, cylinder or permeable substance due to adhesive and cohesive forces interacting between the liquid and the surface. When intermolecular bonding of a liquid itself is substantially inferior to a substances’ surface it is interacting, capillarity occurs. Also, the diameter of the container as well as the gravitational forces will determine amount of liquid raised.
Sev

that makes sense.

oh wait, i didnt understand any of it :D

Got my 2 ViVi's yesterday. Took one out of the box, switched to the 1.8 ohm head, filled it up and headed to work. I let it sit for about 7 minutes before I took the first puff. I'm using a 80pg/20vg juice on 3.7 kGo batteries. I don't have a meter, so can't tell what it's true ohms are.

Some first impressions:
- It's pretty heavy on the kGo and looks awfully rediculous. Hopefully they will release the new eGo sized ones soon.
- No funny "factory" taste from these like the original Phoenix 3mL's. Just a nice, clean vape.
- The flavor is a bit mute, but not bad. I've only gone through about 3/4 of a tank so I am hoping the flavor improves with time.
- Like Sev, I'm having to literally turn it upside down to get it to wick. Normal vaping angles aren't working and all of a sudden I get a dry hit. I turn the tank to where the drip tip is passed horizontal and I can see those bubbles coming out.
- The connector on mine was a bit wobbly and I had to screw it down to almost where I felt I was overtightening it to keep it from rocking in the connection.

So far I'm liking them a lot. I really do hope the flavor gets a bit more strong as I work my way through a second tank. I'm going to fill up the other one I got today with a different juice.

** Briar - Can you please take a pic of the one where you trimmed the wicks to get the flavor to intensify. I'm trying to visualize where you cut them from the description in your post, but my brain is failing :)

Well, at about the time ViVi showed up, I was doing exclusively Stardusts. Prior to that, I was mostly using Vision Extremes (regular, stretch, and nano) with some Fluxos thrown in. Prior to that I was using Fluxos exclusively. Prior to that I was using an 808 stuffed carto. Prior to that, before I discovered modern tech, I was doing the old atty/cart thing on a 510. :)

ViVi is not, and never will be, a primary carto for me. It's for home, for liquids I use much of every day - I have maybe three to five of those currently. In addition, I rotate something like 25 different liquids throughout the week, and up to 10 or so every day - those are sitting in my horde of pretty multicolored Stardusts.

I'm thinking of adding the Tidy to my stable on a permanent basis.

I can't abide filler anymore. At all. To quote Chris, it tastes like socks to me now, I perceive it as harsh, IMHO is makes a stronger overall impression on one's mouth, but at the expense of actual flavor, especially the fine nuances - like I said, I am a flavor snob. I can spend hours contemplating various e-liquids, and I'm getting into the hobby of writing reeeeeeally long and detailed reviews, rating them from everything from complexity, to flavor strength, to umami... :D

Question for everyone. What were you vaping prior to ViVi Nova (any version). I am curious what progression of hardware different people used.
