I'm using just reg drip tips... They are prettier. :) Haven't have problems per se, but improvements are always welcome - will you post which o-rings and how it works, etc? A hungry lion won't chase me into the use of black rubber drip tip if i can avoid it. :D

I just tested with the stock drip tip. It is a mm longer but still doesn't reach the bottom. This leaves access to the void area. My idea is to have a tube all the way down, so condensation drips back onto the coil.

For the o-ring, I used one from a faucet repair kit I had extra. So am unsure of the size. It looks to be 1/4" inside diameter (ID), and 7/16" outside diameter. I just was looking at stuff I had handy for a test run.

I believe its a little warmer and better flavor. Plus I don't tip but every 3 drags now. And Briar I also like my own colorful drip tips.

Sev

P.S. It works without doing this. This is just a tweak enhancement.

Sev00, Unscrew the top from the tank. Place top/driptip between your thumb and index finger. Squeeze hard, the drip tip will bottom out into the top. This works for v2 and 2.5.

Marty

Yep tried that. It appears at 1st glance to bottom out. But if you take a pin, you can feel the space. Hard to see with the shadow of the rim. Unless I just got an abnormal tip.

(vigorous nod) on both counts.

The "pole" on v2 and v2.5 is considerably taller, and I like that a lot. I only fill to slightly below the wick slits (just in case... just in case what, I'm not sure - flooding, I guess... I'm just used to doing it that way from my Fluxo days). With old tank, I could really only fill to a bit more than half tanks. now I can fill to 3/4 tank - biiiiiig difference.

And the shipping is fantastic. I get it as fast from Texas as I did from NY (and I live in NY). Two days and done. Great USPS service for a change, and great job, Dan!

One of the many reasons Texas is great. Postal workers who are highly motivated by the certain knowledge the general population is armed ;)

HI people :), I am wondering if somebody would be able to kind of sum-up what was wrong with the first Viva Nova. I bought 2 of the first verstion when they first came out, but I had also bought some 1.5 and 3ml Phoenex's also. I have been so busy with and using the phoenix carto's that I never even opened either one of them. I also knew that people were having problems with these and that is really the main reason I was waiting to try them. Well I pretty much will always take the time to read thru the threads on items I purchases so I will know how to mod or what ever. I just put another order in and I ordered one of the new nova's, and some extra atty heads for it.
So I am just wondering if someone could tell me a little about them, like are the first version even usable? If not can I use some of the parts of it with the new version? And do Ineed to mod the new version at all? I am going to try to read some of this thread but would really appreciate if someone could help me out. Thank's and sorry for the book I just wrote lol :)

I figured out the problem why i get gurgling sometimes...my tube screws on slightly crooked.. its just the way the threading is on this one...but the pole inside is straight....so since the tank is slightly crooked the top cap is also slightly crooked and when i screw it down tight it mushes the rubber atty cap on one side and just doesnt seat right..i can fix this by taking off the driptip and using a toothpick to guide the rubber top straight as i screw down the metal cap..when its done this way i get no gurgling or liquid on the battery connection. Other than that slight hiccup its working just like a stardust for me but with a slightly warmer tighter vape..which i like

The flange that the drip tip bottoms out on is at a slight cut downward toward the tank. The outside perimeter of the drip tip is bottomed out. Not enough crack to really worry about.

Marty

I tried it. It does work and I can get 3+ draws from it. However I switch back and forth a few times (stock tip vs pawn tip and o-ring). My opinion is My tip + o-ring has a slightly better draw and taste. So if your happy with the black tip its close. If you want to use your own 510 tip, use the o-ring. I believe in open source. Main reason PC's won the market from Apple. compatibility of proprietary is my vote.

For anyone using your own drip tip, and having to wet the wicks every draw or dab juice often, I believe this is the fix.

I can only respond to that with 2 things:

1. Vivi Nova Rocks

2. Apple totally rocks...could have sent this from either my Macbook, iPhone, or iPad

OK, in quick summary:

v1 ViVi was, and is, usable in most cases. On the ones that work as intended (most of them), the consensus was/is that the flavor is a tad more muted than people like. On some of the heads, however, there were problems: some tasted bad (burnt oil or such), and some gave no flavor whatsoever.

The v1 tank is usable with v2.5 heads, the stem in the v1 is a little shorter, so you get vapor in the tanks, and i wouldn't tilt or fill it to where the juice gets in there, otherwise it works great, no prob. Using it now.

If you want to try your v1 heads, wash them really, really well - apparently the occasional bad taste is, pretty much, from oil. Then try them. If they work, they work. If not, you got a good working tank for the new heads.

I did nothing to the new version but vape it, and it vapes very well. I cut the wicks down on another v2.5 head, and it workes even better - the flavor got stronger. YMMV. But no modding necessary, IMHO.

Oh, I'm sorry, I lost that message, but someone wanted me to post a pic of how far I cut the wicks - sorry, folks, my camera went a bit cablui. Basically, it is just a tad longer than to the walls of the tube.

Sev, I took the little translucent silicone ring off the stock tip that came with the ViVi, and stuck it into the hole. Then put my own (pretty :D) drip tip on top of that. I think it worked. Because I believe the draw is better. Not sure about the flavor, because this is the one with the cut wicks and too much flavor... LOL

IDK GPS done gone'n broke
I am quite pleased, only ordered 1 a metal tank (have not tried it out yet), was missing but Danno is getting that out, ticket answred in way less than 24 hrs, which was impressive) and a couple spare coils...been using the 2.4 ohm that was pre-installed (4 wicks)for a couple days....worked straight out the box, none of the foul taste (burning silicone, and or primer) I had with my last couple-three boxes of GV Fluxos, build, leak problems with all the stone incarnations.... these are to me a home run absolutely no fiddling required yet.

Hope these will be around for a while , a home run here imho:) :) and more parts top and bottom caps separately or packs of 1 of each, etc... so don't have to buy a whole kit to cobble together multiple tanks.

Thanks GV

Very cool. By the way I took your advise a few pages back and cut my wicks. It doesn't seem logical, but I will be darn if it didn't work. I have now vape through 2 and a half good tanks. And I have to say the tank I am on now was always my favorite flavor. But I believe its a little better than my SBFT DCT. The flavor is 50% atomic menthol and 50% Hawaiian Punch. hmm good.

Great - I'm glad it's working better for you.

BTW, I think I now have an idea as to why short wicks sometimes give better flavor... I was watching one of Rocking Robbie's reviews, and he said that maybe the wick filters out the flavor particles. Which makes sense - and, also, if different flavors, perhaps, have different size particles, it would also explain why some juices care and some don't - and why certain wicks change some, but not all, flavor profiles.

wow that does make sense and if you have a weaker juice to begin with mabye its all gone by the time it gets up in there

Ya know Briar I never thought of that but darnit if it doesnt make a boatload of sense. Me personally Im getting awesome flavor with full wicks regardless of what juice I use. Now I do make all my own with 100%Vg nic base + flavor. The only pg i add comes from flavoring. Maybe what I use in my mixes just wicks, and works better with long wicks.

Ill try cutting the wicks of an atty on my next empty tank just to see for the heck of it, although I really dont want to.

Did it ever get said why the 2.8ohm heads just have one thick wick, not 4 smaller ones?
